Even the most beautiful cities in the world may start to feel boring after living there for a while. It’s difficult to notice the little charming details when we’re swamped with our daily routines and constantly rushing. Luckily, talented photographers like Sage Akaboshi are here to remind us of all that we’re missing by transforming simple things into beautiful images.
Sage shoots all around San Francisco to show the city’s atmosphere. His pictures all have a down-to-earth unpretentious quality to them, making them really enjoyable. The photographer told Bored Panda: "When I was young, I just happened to be passing by a Polaroid camera promotion in front of a store with my friends, and I bought a camera impulsively. Immediately, I took photos of my friends with the camera on the street. That was my start of photographing in the street. After that, I also started using a film camera and I was very excited when I got the photos developed in black and white. Now I just point the lens at everything I am interested in: people, color, architecture, cityscape, art, and more.”

My dad a VW Beetle just like that (same colour too) when I was little, I loved that car, I was gutted when he sold it.
Load More Replies...can someone explain this? Is the bottom of this (hotel? apartment building?) bedrock? sandstone? or was it built to look like that?
Nice pic but I dont think this is in SF. The street is different. I think it's Berkeley?
Whatever it takes to make sure that people wear their bike helmets!
Load More Replies...The way they stand with their boards make them look like they are expecting them to run away
They will. Anything with wheels is aching to make a run for it. San Francisco is incredibly hilly. Brake Shops must do a whopping great business! (Find a picture of Lombard Street!)
I asked my half-brother about it as he and his late male partner, my brother-in-law, had visited San Francisco where my brother-in-law had lived if it was similar to New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. My half-brother told me that San Francisco is extremely hilly compared to New Westminster.
Load More Replies...You clearly haven't been to SF then.... this is ALL over, and this looks pretty good compared to some areas.
Load More Replies...An awful lot of doorways are like this. And their toilet is right there on the curb.
I believe it was an exhibit at St Mary's Cathedral in the fall.
Load More Replies...I believe the scene is from the post flood episode where Noah gets drunk, and some of his sons cover him up.
Where are the thousands of homeless defecating and urinating in public(with Mayor's permission and Police Officer"s disgust? This jus(with a few exceptions) Ciderella's view of SANFRAN!
Sage Akaboshi's photographic journey through San Francisco is as much about capturing the essence of a city as it is about showcasing the humanity within it. Similar to how Aaron Draper illuminates the lives of those experiencing homelessness through his series, Akaboshi's work urges viewers to appreciate the often overlooked beauty and vibrancy of urban life.

As if I needed more reasons to visit San Francisco lol, awesome photography too
I had no idea skateboarding was still so popular out there. And they have quite the homeless problem, too. What big city doesn't though, eh? Very visceral pics, thanks.
Never take homelessness with such a acceptable attitude please.
