Why are parents so against revolutionary technology! We can do so much with tech and gives us SO many job opportunities in the future. Sure you need to go out side once in a while, but that's for taking trips.

Only if you are fine with your kid unravelling your knitting or crochet project you have been working on for the past 3 months? What a stupid thing to do to your child.

My youngest, almost 22, still plays Minecraft. For every hour outside, my kids earned 15 minutes computer time. Once they were outside, they lost track of time. When they wanted to play they were surprised how much time they had. Until they were teenagers, they were limited to 1 hour a day during the week, 2 hours on weekends.

Taking away your son's Minecraft world without any thought is showing that you think that your child is not important. That what your child enjoys doing is not important. That his thoughts and feelings are not important. That his mind and ability to create and work with others is not important. That enjoying something and learning how to do something that takes time and effort is not important. Your older son is an *a*s*s*h*o*l*e* for saying that Minecraft is just internet Legos. It is much more than that. Parents need to think of their child's future at all times. Let it sit in the back of your mind always. Your actions will effect them for the rest of their life. Some of the stuff you say and do will always be remembered.

As my mom says, pick your battles. If you want to see your kid after they become an adult, I suggest you apologize. It won't fix the mistake, but hopefully they will remember. Stop being an a$$ and try supporting that which your child loves, whether you understand it or not, as long as it hurts no one, leave it alone. There are so many horrible things they could be involved in, after all.
