I bet that the majority of pet owners will agree that animals make our lives…well, easier. No matter what kind of little or big creature you have there, they are always there to brighten up your day. And in today’s article, we want to introduce you to a REALLY big cutie – Guus the giant Flemish rabbit.

When you see Guus for the first time, you immediately notice that he is not a usual rabbit. According to his human Danielle, this adorable fluff ball from Amsterdam acts more like a dog than a bunny. Scroll down to learn more!

This 22lb bunny not only attracts attention with his extraordinary size

He also acts more like a dog than a rabbit

His human, Danielle, calls him “bulldog-bunny”

According to Danielle, it’s very easy to take care of Guus. “Well, he was potty trained in about 2-3 weeks. Also, his toilet needs to be cleaned twice a week. We brush him and play with him. But for the rest, it’s just cuddling and enjoying his company.”

And he doesn’t really like the food that other rabbits enjoy

Danielle told us a bit more about what it’s like to have Guus around: “In the morning when I open the door of the living room, he sprints to the back door to go outside. He jumps around and is so happy. After that, he comes back inside for some cuddles on the couch and some snacks. Also during the day, he loves to jump next to you on the couch and seeks attention. A good head rub or cuddle is something he really likes.”

“When all the bunnies go left, he goes right straight away”

Guus also enjoys cuddles and playing fetch with his humans

“Everyone who sees him for the first time is amazed of his size and how friendly he is. It’s easy for kids, adults but also dogs and cats to be around him. He has such a good personality.”

Danielle got Guus from her boyfriend as a birthday present around 2 years ago

Danielle shared with Bored Panda that she is obsessed with any kind of animal. “When I was young I grew up with dogs. So automatically I asked for a puppy. Since we live in Amsterdam and have a dynamic life, a dog didn’t fit for now. My boyfriend suggested a house bunny. Besides, I thought that bunnies would not be affectionate or cuddly at all, but we still wanted to give it a try. And so Guus came into our lives.”

Right now, Guus is 2.5 years old.

While they kept him in a cage at first, right now the rabbit has the whole house for him to play or chill wherever he wants

“Guus is like a little teddy bear”

“He’s cheeky, he’s smart but he’s also very friendly”

“Every day is a blessing. I never thought bunnies were that smart or cute. Every morning when I wake up, I can’t wait to cuddle Guus.”

Short version - the bunny we rescued now rules over two dogs and two cats. Long version - we live near a college town and, at the end of the college year, my daughter (daughter lived in student housing) found a bunny hiding under her car. Daughter tried to find the bunny's owners, but the bunny was apparently dumped after the awful person went home for summer. Due to allergies, we couldn't keep the bunny, but we bought Bunny (real original name I know...lol!) a rabbit sized cage, accessories, etc. and kept Bunny until we could find a forever home. A neighbor's adult daughter was interested and took Bunny in on a "let's see if this works" basis. Now Bunny is house/litter box trained, uses the doggy door to play in the fenced yard and is the boss of two dogs and two cats!

Before vets started to chip you usually got the ear tattoos; your postcode in one ear, a running number in the other. My first cats still had those tats, too.

THAT is a B*F*B* (Big F***ing Bunny)! Guus makes me want a rabbit, but I don't think I could find one like him where I live!
