And as for the plot of the show, it focuses on the participants answering obscure questions, making it almost impossible to give a correct answer, which is why humor remains the main focus.

That's not quite true, it hasn't been worded very well. The study showed that if a couple had chemistry, their heart rates would speed up and slow down at the same time. Alas, their hearts wouldn't start to beat at the same time.
