Artist Creates Surreal Landscapes That Balances Between Nature And Another Dimension
Salvador Dali is the king of dystopian landscapes, creating elaborate worlds with nothing but paint and a canvas. Well, thanks to photoshop new artists have a unique tool to experiment with surrealism. Polish-born artist Mirek is one such artist who is using his 10 years of experience with the editing software to create one-of-a-kind images.
His creations are manipulations of natural landscapes combined with other images containing mostly gothic style elements. He said in an interview his process begins with the location, "I am looking for the best example of a mountain landscape, then I define the atmosphere of work and I choose photos in a similar climate. I check various configurations and combinations of these photos and choose the best."
The self-taught artist said he finds seeks inspiration from other surrealist works but tries to focus on keeping his own style, "Just do not look at others, create what we have in our hearts, each heart beats with its rhythm and that makes us unique."

A flat world on the back of one of the 4 elephants (only one fits the picture), so far so good. But who is the brave guy who built his cabin on the Giant Star Turtle Great A'Tuin?
Feeling like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders
WOW!!! This one should be #2. I've heard the old stories about the tortoise who carries the world on his back. This looks so awesome, and the tortoise looks so strong.
Love the man under tree upper right! The tremendous use of scale is incredible...Wow!
This reminds me of some of Guillermo Del Toro's work. Specifically during the Troll Market scene in Hellboy II when they meet the strange fellow with the castle for a head who helps the elf princess. Way cool!
WTF??? *I yell as run away*...Now that is some scary *&%t. I definitely would not be driving towards it.
when you are given a leadership post that is more intense than they said it is
Soon there will be no more of these beautiful, majestic animals, I would be ecstatic if we could prevent China's demand for ivory killing of animals!!!
This saddens me for a few reasons. In our world today, IRL, elephants are abused and forced to do many things, including carrying everything you can think of. So, when I see them reduced to carrying buildings on their back, that makes me sad. It also looks like the world has been destroyed, and the elephants and their cargo are all that is left. And social isolation sucks. I know it all too well. I'm stuck here, I never go anywhere, and this computer is my only real outlet to the outside world, and I hate it. I miss the days before computers when people actually talked to each other and there were places to go hang out and just have fun and meet people. (Yes, I know there are clubs and bars, but I'm not into that scene anymore. I tried once, about 6 months ago. Too old for that now, I'm 49, and the music is so loud it hurts my ears.) I just...I miss life. Sorry, I went way off subject.
The lighted windows and silhouette are haunting and kinda comforting at the same time.
This one looks both beautiful and sad. The picture itself is awesome. But the bear looks kind of sad. Perhaps that man is going to visit him.
it cannot be proved by scientists. But politicans and lobbyists have no problem with that cause some eco-taxes bring them a lot of extra money. Sad, but true...
Load More Replies...She looks very sad and lonely. Hippos usually have other hippos around them.
To think think that one day, there will be no more Rhinos left at the rate they are being killed that is more than sad !!!
What the hell?? Such an odd place for a fish. Is it helping hold the bridge up?? Or maybe it's a weird blimp??
reminds me of my reoccurring dream as a child with fish with swam outside of the aquarium through the glass and start floating / swimming around the room
I wonder how it would feel like to climb up the fell. For the giant polar bear here the ice axe would be like acupuncture. And there is a penguin there so it seems that either the polar bear or the penguin traveled half the world.
When the polar bear is that big he must expand his range! :)

????? I see a horse, and perhaps a monkey?? But I don't understand this one??
So sad. He looks so tired, and lonely, and sad. Makes me want to pet him and tell him everything will be okay. And then go find him some food. (Yes, I know he's gigantic, but I can do what I want in my imagination.) Poor thing looks like he needs some love. They all do.
apples. they like apples. (okay, so yes, my family did that Safari ride in San Deigo's Wild Animal Park. The 2yr old rhino was a big-assed brute who liked his apples. and the giraffes? well we got to feed them Viagra-laced dog biscuits.)

Load More Replies...This doesn't make any sense. There's a skull in the sky, a cartoon black cat under the factory, a realistic cat stretched our, and then there are cartoon black mice.
I'm still trying to find the realistic cat...lol. It looks like 1 really long cat with 8 legs to me. Weird.
Load More Replies...I really liked these although for the life of me I can't explain why. I damn sure couldn't describe or explain them to anyone that hadn't seen them.
Reminds me of the Xenoblade Titans. Gamers will know what I'm talking about.
Some pictures remind me of Magic the Gathering cards.
