We’ve had all the possible versions of the 'ideal' body throughout history, and it’s about time that we agree – beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and the most attractive is the art of being comfortable and confident in your own skin. Nevertheless, mainstream media keeps placing images of the perfect body in our brains and the pressure to conform is real.
Brazilian artist Eduardo Santos, known as Edull on social media, enjoys juicy curves and wants the whole world to know it. Using his incredible talent he turns his everyday plus-size muses into cute animated characters. By doing what he loves he doesn‘t only empower tons of chubby girls out there to appreciate their bodies, but helps spread the body positivity message and fight prejudice shaped by today’s society.
“I've always liked chubby girls and also suffered from the prejudice they felt. I ended up discovering art as a way to show the world that a fat woman is a normal woman, just as beautiful as all the others,” the artist told Bored Panda.
Putting chubby women in the spotlight through his drawings and illustrations, Eduardo has created his imaginary plus size world where everyone is welcomed. He has been accepting commissions from women around the world and has grown a big collection of artworks that praise the curvy silhouette and celebrates the beauty of women

There's no way this woman is a plus-size. There isn't an ounce of fat on her face.
Believe me, it is the rare person of size who does not know they are at an unhealthy weight. If there was a simple solution they would do it. There is nothing wrong with learning to love your body and your beauty. This is not glorifying obesity. It is showing that any body can be beautiful. Stop shaming people for their size. If it is not your journey, you know nothing about it!
I love how women have been freeing themselves from long hair. She looks just perfect. ❤️
Her pics outfit is even more beautiful than the one in tbe drawing. 💙
Keep your judgements to yourself. She is elegant. This is not about 'health'. This is about beauty, appreciation for doing what you can with what you have.
I'm fat. I'm also trying to lose weight, so snarky comments about my size are very unappreciated. I know I'm fat and I'm trying to change it, why bring it up? I'm not one of those "fat is healthy" people. I just have a potential eating disorder and I don't like it one bit. It's just mean-spirited to ostracize someone for something they MIGHT not even be able to control!. All in all, women (and men too) should strive to be healthy, but not beat themselves up if they don't conform to the stick-thin ideal of how one should be.
The "healthy fat" crowd would prefer to believe a lie rather than take care of themselves. The FACT is that obese people die younger than they need to, for a bunch of reasons, and that's a large part of the reason that the life spans of Americans have been going DOWN for the past couple of years. ....///... Losing weight is hard. My husband's doctor told him to lose weight last year because his blood pressure was creeping upwards, and I needed to lose, too. We gave up most of the carbs. There's no bread in the house, no rice, no pasta, no potatoes, not because they're fattening in themselves, but because of the stuff you put ON all of those things. We don't miss it. We each lost about 40 pounds and it feels great. ...///... I wish you all the luck in the world with your weight loss. Update us and tell us how it's going! ;-)
Load More Replies...It is not mutually exclusive to both know you need to lose weight and also still love yourself. I am not nearly as overweight as any of these women, but I know I need to lose about 50 for my health. Does that mean I'm required to hate myself until I do? No thanks. I'd prefer to appreciate my body in whatever stage it's in, even AS I'm attempting to improve it. Quit being so damn black and white.
I am as overweight as any of these women and I have no intention of purposely losing weight. And since my actual doctor, who went to medical school, isn't concerned about it, I have no idea why the hell you are.
Load More Replies...Stop glorifying obesity. Weighing around 150kg isnt healthy no matter your body type. Im chubby myself. You shouldnt be bullied or fatshamed but helped. Eating disorders no matter if youre skinny or fatty is not healthy and will affect your overall life.
Though with that said, lovely art, talented people.

While it's absolutely wrong to insult people for their weight, I'm with the people who admit that there's a limit at which extra weight stops being 'chubby' and just becomes scarily unhealthy=x I don't mean that people like that stop being people or should spend their lives hating themselves, I just don't feel *glorifying* something as unhealthy as that is the way to go. Saying that as someone rather overweight herself btw :P Wouldn't say I'm overly concerned or working on it atm but I'm within my limits atm, I'm also strong and sportish and unhealthy. There was a time when I realized climbing stairs to some petty 3rd floor was becoming hard for me, that was scary. To anyone trying to lose weight, best of luck!<3
ok, being plus size (which many of the above ladies are) is fine, but some of the women pictured are really obese - even the artist shrunk tjem a bit in the illustrations - and it's not healthy and should not be sold as curvy or a few extra pounds when it's clearly a major health issue.. I do believe that no one should be put to shame because of their looks but please stop advertising being dangerously overweight as something positive.. the same goes for extra skinny look, so called heroin chic of the 90s that was sold to us as attractive and beautiful - it's not healthy, it is dangerous
They aren't "plus sized". They aren't "chubby". They're obese, some of them morbidly obese, and they're going to die young. Quit lying to yourself. I now weigh 134 pounds and I'm 5'7" tall. That's not "skinny", that's what normal looks like.

I think ppl are triggered because we have in our mindset that if someone is obese they don’t have the right to feel beautiful, sexy, or attractive. That is on them. I grew up in the 70’s. Most ppl were thinner than they are now, as a whole, and the pressure was astounding. Fatness as a joke/disease/ostracizable status was the norm. Nothing has changed for some ppl: that it’s ok to make judgments on fatness. Ironically these ppl who put themselves out there are incredibly brave. I grew up with strong cultural insight into what you wore if you were too thick/thin/tall/short. Now these women break the rules.
They can feel any way they want. We should not glorify, praise, or celebrate their obesity, though.

There is a massive difference between thick/curvy and obese/unhealthy. Not all of these girls should be glorified. If you disagree watch super size vs super skinny it shows the truly dangerous aspects of both sides of the spectrum. Many of the larger + size models are visibly near the people needing intervention on that show
The ladies in the photographs are NOT "curvy". They are obese. They are endangering their health and costing us all a fortune in health care costs for their diabetes, stress fractures, heart disease and oh, so many more things.

A few extra pounds is no big deal but if you're double your "ideal" weight and you're happy like that then good on ya. Have at it. You do you. But if you then try to say that you can be healthy at any weight you're living in a dream world. Notice how you never hear health professionals say that? Probably for a reason.
They look like the brats dolls, but fat. The heads double in size to make the rest of the body look more proportional.....
I love plus sized women. Big bodies, big personalities. What's not to love?

Enlarging the cartoon heads to artificially bring the bodies back into beautiful proportions is an admission that obesity is not beautiful.
I'm fat, not obese, it is so unhealthy, looks horrible, why make it look ok? It's NOT!!!
Anyone else notice he's making the heads of the women bigger to put them in proportion? I thought this was supposed to be about being happy with the size you are. Why not draw them the way they are? They're still attractive
This attention to appearance, be it thin or overweight, is just a form of narcissism. Get on with your lives, everyone.
Let me give you a little puzzle: What is an eating disorder and has terrible consequences for the person's health, leading to many deaths? People who have it usually consider themselves unattractive? It's anorexia. But if you thought obesity, you weren't wrong, because it fits the description too. But why are we fighting one and not the other? Why are we pushing people from one deadly disorder to another? How would you react if people suddenly started telling anorexics that they look great and must embrace who they are and don't eat if they don't feel like it? Sounds awful, doesn't it? But it's somehow ok when the same is happening with obese people. Anorexia and obesity are the two sides of one coin. Realize it. Yes, media and fashion make a lot of money by selling cosmetics and clothes to fat people, because there are so many fat people now and they are a huge target. That's really all there is to this whole campaign.
People who are normal are NORMAL. We are not "skinny". We are not "anorexic". Quit making excuses. Anorexia is FAR less common than obesity.

I think all of this people here aren't (very) unhealthy. People who are VERY skinny are much more unhealthy.
That's bs. If someone's fat, they have to work to lose weight, not work to be comfortable with it and ignore or shout at people saying otherwise. If it's a medical condition and they can't do anything about it, I can understand. Ik that people should shut their mouths instead of being rude, but that doesn't mean anyone should be happy to be fat. WORK TO BE HEALTHY
SImple fact is food in America is refined and not natural. The fast pace and easy access mean fat people. Say all you want about it, but before the introduction of fast food and processed c**p , no one was ever like this. Hello Type 2 diabetes..
I see all these women as physically beautiful. I'm not aware of their mental health, so I can't comment on that. As far as there physical health, I'm not aware of the details, and again can't comment on that. I do know that doctors don't just look at someone and say your blood pressure is too high your going to die, instead they run Health diagnostics to determine that- so if a doctor can't make that determination based merely on appearance, the medically lay person should stop doing that as well. I'm a 6'0 202lb, muscular male that exercise and eats healthy. My wife is a 5'4 don't know her weight but far from muscular female. She is happier than I am and has great cholesterol and blood pressure scores. I on the other hand suffer from anxiety and have spells of depression that I have learned to manage with her help. It's funny that people see us as mix matched, LOL! I happen to like her for who she is inside and out and I know that even though she cant out run me she will out live me!
so, being overweight is good? im not bashing on the art, its okay, but this is like saying "being fat is okay" because its not.
I think plus sized women are becoming in vouge! I am seeing way more positivity around curvy figures. Artists such as these help the cause. Keep it up! :-)
Not all overweight people are overweight because of their eating habits!! My grandma had a bunch of health problems that contributed to her weight gain and her bad heart prevented her from losing the weight that she really wanted to lose (she was born with a bad heart). She couldn't do simple task because her heart couldn't handle all the stress which ultimately killed her because she wasn't one to sit around and let others do for her. She did a lot of yard work and by the end if the day her heart couldn't handle it anymore and she passed away. She couldn't even do the surgeries that would have helped her in the long run because her heart could not handle it so don't judge others when you know nothing about them. Also my sister went from being a size 7 to a size 16 in two months. She was diagnosed and put on meds to help her from gaining more weight but a side effect of the meds was weight gain so she had to find other meds and now is losing the weight so stop judging if you don't know.
Some of these women aren't exactly plus siz e. They look pretty average to me. But, they still look beautiful nevertheless
Look everyone has a very strong opinion on this, and I get it. But I think the message of this, and the main message of things like this is to remind people who are uncomfortable with the way they look that they are beautiful. Whether or not you factor in their health, it does not detract from their worth or value as a human being. And many times society tries to tell someone because they are "unhealthy" they are ugly or worthless. And in more ways than one, it's all based on what we see. Yes, it is absolutely important to take care of your physical health. But it is also important to take care of your mental health, which I believe is what the artist is trying to do. Nobody is glorifying anything except the innate nature of human beings, regardless of their health, to be beautiful. Especially in a society that only thinks one certain look or way of life is beautiful. I am proud of everyone, fat or skinny, black or white, young or old, who can see their own beauty.
It's fine if you think being overweight is not healthy. It's fine if your taste on women is different and you prefer skinny or fit ladies. What is NOT ok, is to judge and belittle overweight people. And what I think is REALLY f**ked up is to say they are ugly, or disgusting, or to think that overweight people do not have the right to dress up and feel pretty. So... do people with overweight have to shut themselves, hide, avoid other people, never wear pretty clothes and makeup, and must NEVER smile? Didn't know it was a privilege for thin people only! Also.. we don't know their circumstances, we don't know if they are already on a journey for losing weight, or if they have some medical condition.. and not because you say "hey! you're fat! lose some weight!" they're going to do as you say (and you won't follow them until they're fit, right?). So stop judging. Stop shaming people. Stop acting like YOU KNOW all the answers. And just give your opinion when asked WITH RESPECT.
I know that quite a few of you will want to downvote this comment, but please read through it and keep in mind that it is written with love, not disdain. It is not about aesthetics, I have absolutely nothing against overweight women (nor men), but I cannot for the life of me understand why the debate does not center more about the negative health aspects of obesity. There is a surge in diabetes driven by obesity; overweight women give birth prematurely; higher risk for breast cancer as well as for other cancers; high blood pressure etc, etc, etc. PLEASE DO NOT GO ON A DIET! Make small healthy changes to your daily food regimen, like starting each meal with raw vegetables, and make sure you eat some five meals a day. That, and more daily movement is bound to boost anybody's health.
I love these! Every one of them is gorgeous!! Thank you for doing these!
Thank you for inserting a pertinent, nonjudgmental and purely simple comment into this sea of butt-hurt and negativity. Made me smile :)
Load More Replies...This s**t is disgusting and abhorrent. It is natural and HEALTHY human nature to put subhumans in their place. One does not even have to study medicine to know what a proper human shape is. Being a round ball is as sexy as leprosy. Not to mention the sickening hypocrisy that obese men don't deserve to be "sexy" as well without having a million dollars at their disposal. These cows need more push ups and less ice cream and way way less denial and mental problems to think that going against the very human dna itself of what humans find attractive (or are supposed to in a healthy mate). This filth is far far worse then encouraging smoking or drug use.
The women up there already know they're fat. They already know that it's unhealthy. When you tell a fat person, 'Hey, you really need to lose weight for your health', all you're really doing is telling them what they already know. Most obese people understand their weight is unhealthy. Some have mitigating factors for it, and some don't. Most of them have probably done the dieting roulette, round and round, to try and fix it. And what worked for some? Won't work for others. Instead of going, 'Well, I'm not fat-shaming, but-'. No. You are. The minute you have to preface a statement with 'but', you're absolutely doing the thing. Don't make them ashamed of being fat under a veiled attempt to "try and help". You can't. You won't. All you do is hammer at self-esteem that's already beaten down by not looking 'normal'. If they can find some part of themselves acceptable? Then let them. Don't cut them down because they're fat - they're still people.
These are ALL gorgeous images!! She’s got an incredible talent for capturing the soul of the woman! Very detailed & accurate for most of the clothing and accessories. It seems that the ethnic images actually shimmer! Very awesome! I’d love to have one of ME done!!

Thank you for giving us big girls a little glamour to appreciate. I'm so tired of the nay-sayers. Thank you for your talented and well-done artwork.
You are absolutely entitled to glamour and to feel good about yourselves. The rest of us hope you feel good enough about yourself to make positive changes to your lifestyle so you can live a long and healthy life, it's just that when we hear all of this f*****g nonsense about "healthy at any size" despite the mountain of evidence of early mortality, health problems blah blah blah it sets us off and we lash out about it. I promise you that if we had our way you'd be thinner....because it's healthier and better in every way. You don't need abs, but being full out fat is terrible and should be avoided at all costs.

I love all the girls and their artistic representations! I wish I could do the same as these gals! I admire them and wish them all the very best!!!
These are GREAT!! Would love to see in strategic places as STREET ART! Please, please please, purdy please!
Where are male fat asses, we're being discriminated against! And plus size is not morbidly obese, I don't even care if it's pretty or not...

Load More Replies...I noticed you skipped over the part about where it's unhealthy as f**k. You only talk about how it's entirely "superficial". Not seeing your kids grow up because you die at 46 isn't superficial.
