We have all heard it a million times: beggars can’t be choosers. Whether your mother slipped in the phrase when offering you a cookie (but not the type of cookie you wanted!) or you had to use it when dealing with a demanding houseguest who had taken advantage of your hospitality, the saying rings a lot of truth and bears repeating. Yet somehow, not everyone learned the importance of this adage, and some entitled individuals are out there right now wreaking havoc in Instagram DMs, on Facebook marketplace and other places online demanding free art, discounted services and other outlandish requests.
Apparently, beggars can be choosers, they will just be ridiculed for it online. We've gone through the Choosing Beggars subreddit to gather some of the most infuriating posts to share with you all down below, so be sure to upvote the pics that make you want to call up these people’s parents and tell them that they need a reminder that “beggars can’t be choosers”. Keep reading to also find interviews with artists Jill Arwen Posadas and Carrie Brummer to hear their thoughts on people requesting work for free, and then if you’re looking for even more of these frustrating posts after finishing this list, be sure to check out Bored Panda’s last publication featuring the same subreddit right here.

Ketchup Critics
That last line could be the most honest thing I've read in a long time.
Perfectly put! I wish I could upvote this comment multiple times.
Load More Replies...Now I feel called out! *literally has a paper bag of ketchup packets from McDonald's in cupboard*
Load More Replies...It depends where you live. There are always toxic people on Nextdoor, but there were a lot more of them on Nextdoor for my previous neighborhood than on Nextdoor for my current neighborhood.
Load More Replies...Heinz costs an avg of $1.22 more. More people prefer Heinz due to tomato taste over vinegar taste. People are bored.
That's just pathetic.... and so sad that this is what some people are evolving into nowadays.... it makes me feel sorry for my children's future. I guess all I can do is raise them up with the best morals and attitudes towards others that I possibly can and pray that it is enough to counter any crappy outside influences.... 😥
The Choosing Beggars subreddit features a variety of different situations, from people actually begging for money or services to individuals demanding that they receive special treatment from artists who make a living selling their creations. (No, exposure and networking do not pay the bills.) And some of these posts are astonishing. The sheer level of entitlement some people exhibit is ridiculous, but sadly, it is not uncommon. This subreddit has over 2 million members and receives new posts almost constantly.
The page is flooded with potential landlords offering ridiculous accommodation and people asking photographers to shoot events for free because “there will be a lot of future clients there”. But the moderators do clarify who counts as a “choosy beggar” to keep the group from getting out of control. For example, the beggar must be a “person seeking goods or services at a reduced cost, for free, or for a laughably lopsided trade or a person using social media, dating apps, or otherwise to seek out a specific type of relationship”.
This Is How You Deal With Them
I think this is happening more and more often. I had a kid around 14 or so come up to me when I was buying petrol and ask if I could get him something to eat. I wouldn’t have minded but he starts rattling off several things that he wants and then an energy drink as well (as if petrol isn’t expensive enough!). I told the staff and they said he did it all the time and they always had to chase him off.
I have encountered rich kids playing the part of a homeless person and panhandling for kicks. Easy to spot, if you all can afford $300 boots you don't need an handout. At the other end I remember giving a guy some money and later seeing him sitting on the sidewalk eating ecxactly what he said he needed the money for.
Once was hitchhiking and got picked by panhandlers, I was so mad. Cause here I am dirt poor having to walk long long miles to get diapers and scrape by cause my dad's car didn't work at the time and they would move town to town get like 400 dollars they said. It mad me so mad I wanted to cry.
Load More Replies...Had a similar encounter with someone, came up to me and my wife saying they were starving and needed something to eat. I offered to get them anything they wanted from the café on the opposite side of the road. He replied he would rather have £15 for KFC. We just walked away
That is so sad it makes real hungry people look bad. I don't like them kinda people.
Load More Replies...I mostly offer to buy groceries instead of money. Some of them disappear til I'm back, some wait. Once one went with me and was very humble with choosing. I had to encourage him. I think this is good way to select people who really needs to eat and not drugs.
I'm happy to buy people groceries if they ask me for help. One guy just wanted hot dogs and a grapefruit - hey why not? :) He was obviously homeless and I didn't mind. Another women was with her 2 kids and they were obviously in need. She said she'd take anything but was thrilled when I came back with several bags of food for them. A few extra bucks doesn't really make a difference to me (not anymore, but I've been there), but for them it kept her kids from going hungry. I almost never give money but I'm always open to helping someone eat.
Load More Replies...Lmao this reminds me of a story that happened to me, there was this begger that was " strategicly " placed, the dude would seat on a side wall of the road right Next the Traffic lights, só you couldnt avoid him, to make things worst the dude was " alérgic to water " if you get what i mean, só One say i was stopped by the Traffic light and had my Window down, dude comes to my car and asks for a cigarret, i go and give him One, but i smoke a regional brand, dude looks at me and goes " ah no i don't smoke that sh...t " a guy that had torno clothes dirty as hell, only had One shue, and its choosy with the brand of tobaco he smokes lol....
Oh this is so funny there a lot of people that smoke Marlboro be asking for cigarettes and you tell them your brand cause they ask. I aways tell em I get the cheaper kind. An there just like that cool. Even had some people turn me down after they asked for one 🤣. To me a cigarette is a cigarette when you get down to it.
Load More Replies...Unfortunately a few negative experiences can turn people off with trying to help. Several years ago my mother rolled down her window when a man approached her car. She was reaching out to give him a few dollars (I don't know how much it was) when he grabbed her hand and tried to get her rings off her fingers. Luckily my stepfather was with her and was able to force him to release her. My stepfather was a deputy and always carried a handgun (still does). That guy was very lucky not to have gotten shot.
This. I have to think about my safety as a woman. I've purchased food and drinks, but I will not open my wallet nor go to an ATM for someone.
Load More Replies...I'm sure this happens in other places, too, but we get people who stand outside grocery stores near the red lights with signs reading they "need money please give", but they don't even try to hide that they're using an iphone and have really expensive sneakers on. I was like, 'why would anyone do this?' and it turns out these 'beggars' can make like 300 dollars a day or more in certain locations, and some of them know each other and pool their 'donations' to pay for illegal things. Or it's just a job to them. They dress homeless and then go home to the house they paid for with your donations. If you want to donate to charity, do it through legitimate sources. Don't give money to these fakers. The fact is, people who are truly in need often don't ask for help. Give it to a single mother or father who you know is struggling. Donate to a local soup kitchen or shelter. Many of these beggars use the money for drugs and alcohol-- that's why they're angry; they haven't gotten their fix.
Such incidents happen. Heard a guy in Mumbai has 3 apartments mainly dressing up as a professional begger daily, painting dirt on his face to look downtrodden and waiting at strategic points for alms. Evening dressing back to clean clothes and catching local train to return home.
Load More Replies...Had similar encounter. A homeless guy was looking for money to buy food. I didn’t have cash but I did have a $10 gift card to Subway. After I handed the card to him he said “I rather have the cash.”
On a positive note - my brother in law recently encountered a man who had apparently opened a soda while shopping and put it on the counter to buy with his groceries. He ended up not having enough money on his assistance card to pay. The store was trying to decide what to do and told him to just bring money back. My brother in law watched the man return later with a little cash to pay his bill, hearing him comment that it was his last money until his next payment. My brother in law stopped the man and praised his honesty and integrity and handed him a $20. The man was overjoyed and thanked him profusely!!! The man said “Man this day is just the best day! Everyone is being so nice to me. “ makes my heart melt. These are the people I want to help!
Some are in genuine need and some take us for a joy ride.
Load More Replies...When it comes to how “choosy” people must be to qualify for a post on the page, the rules state that they must “have unreasonable standards or have a comical sense of entitlement”. I wish that it was not so easy to find people like that, but clearly, the page proves that there are many encounters with choosy beggars every day. When it comes to who does not qualify to be roasted on the page, the moderators have set some more ground rules.
“Unattractive people seeking a normal relationship and having reasonable standards are not a good fit for this sub,” the rules state. “Ugly people are allowed to want a partner with a job, or no kids, or anything else we would consider reasonable for the beautiful people.” The page is not about bullying, so it’s great that there are guidelines. No one will be shamed for how they look; this is an equal opportunity page where anyone who displays gross entitlement has opened themselves up to criticism.
My Sister-In-Law Has Had Enough Of The Exposure Clientele
The thing is, most people who want free c**p DO, ACTUALLY haggle with their hairdresser, doctor, electrician, dog groomer and local restaurant 🤣
Why the hell are ‘Influencers’ still a thing? They are the visual representation of all that’s wrong with this world at the moment…
Oh the sense of entitlement of some people really grinds my gears! I don’t understand why rich celebrities get things for free. It’s not the Hollywood A-lister or millionaire influencer that needs free clothes/food/products/travel. It’s average Joe who works hard to get by but is struggling to make ends meet. This #gifted culture really gets to me.
Hehe..."you know what really grinds my gears?"
Load More Replies...I mean, I wish I could haggle with my doctors office... if we're being honest.
^This. If I do mechanic side work people don't argue the price. Well they do, because people :P. But if I'm asked to anything creative (I sew and paint) It's always "I could buy that for $, why are you charging $$$? You're ripping me off!
We should haggle with the doctor. When you go to the doctor, here's what you're paying for: the doctor's salary, the office cost, the materials/tests used (and their profit), the billing department, the administration, corporate profit. Then you have the insurance company's billing department, their administration and their profits. Seems to me we could cut out at least 60% of that.
You can. Ask for an itemized list, and they'll usually knock a few off.
Load More Replies...The rules also clarify that “a person asking for help with life's necessities out of desperation is not a choosingbeggar”. “The person begging must be at least in the gradient of being an entitled jerk, this sub is not a place to mock poverty,” the moderators explain. They provide the example of someone running out of money and asking for gas through a Facebook status so they can make it to work. “They got the beggar part down, but this sub is not /r/beggars so that post wouldn't fit. If that same person turns down someone offering to give them a ride to work because they don't want to be seen in a PT Cruiser, then that post would fit.”
They also explain that, “A parent asking for handouts because their kids want an Xbox for Christmas and the only way that could happen is if someone donates one, that isn't a choosingbeggar.” If a person is begging without a sense of entitlement, they don’t deserve to be shamed on the page. “If that person is offered a Nintendo and they scoff at the suggestion, then that would be a good post,” the rules note.
Influencer Wants Personal Song Written Plus One Hour Set At Wedding For Free
Exactly! People, you have a brain, so stop depending on "influencers" to tell you what to do or how to think.
Load More Replies...How do people get to such a point, where they're so full of self-importance that they don't feel obliged to pay people for their time and skills? Audacity.
My dad was like this. He thought he could do ___ just as well, but he didn't have time/equipment, which is why he didn't think he should pay for it. (I know.) And someone else should feel LUCKY to work with someone as smart as him! Of course, he was a self-centered liar and cheater who assumed everyone else was, too, so... that's probably how he got to that point.
Load More Replies...The absolute worst job I ever had was being the person who wrote music for people's poems so they could pass them off as their own creations. The fact that we would deliver said music to a guy sitting in a car parts warehouse with a cheap suit and cigar was just the cherry on top of that c**p sandwich.
Isn't it astounding that the people that can most afford it are the ones who expect you to do it for free? Like the Kardashians hiring "unpaid interns" as personal assistants.
Ugh I'm so tired of these influencer asks. The only 'influencer' I would ever even consider doing this for is a Kardashian, because it's been proven that people they promote generally get a lot of business from the promo. You're getting worldwide advertising. But other than that...never. And I don't even get how they have the audacity to ask the way they do...as if you should be honored to do it for free.
One of the most common issues brought up on the Choosing Beggars subreddit is the fact that people feel entitled to free art. To address this topic, we reached out to artists Carrie Brummer and Jill Arwen Posadas to hear what it's really like to deal with these "choosy beggars". First, we asked both artists how often they are reached out to about working for free. "On average I would say 2-3 times per year I receive serious requests to either give away my art or do art teaching for free," Carrie told Bored Panda.
"I haven't been asked lately, but I think being asked once is once too often," Jill replied. "I used to get asked a fair bit when I was just starting out. Back when I was younger I thought it was worth it 'for the exposure' and the 'experience points' if I got a good look at who was asking and what 'actual exposure' and experience I would be getting. But these days it would take far more than just 'exposure' (like maybe if it was for charity?) for me to do it."
On second thought, though, Jill remembered that she had been reached out to more recently. "I had been asked when the pandemic was in the thick of things for free art a fair bit. It was for the pandemic, so you'd have to be pretty hardhearted, they must've thought, if you'd said no. But hey, we had to eat during the pandemic, too." Jill admitted that she did create the free art a couple of times, but said she would be lying if she said she had no hard feelings about it.
Waaahhh I Didn’t Get A Less Than $2 Discount At An Already Fairly Priced Diner
This military discount is odd, and not a thing here. My training, deployments etc were paid for. I don't expect anything else, especially not in this economic climate.
I'd expect a universal healthcare to take care of my PTSD, not a discount on burgers
Load More Replies...What’s with the military worship in the US? Surely no one forced you to join up?
I think a lot of people are kinda forced to join-up if they're from poor families because it's the only way they get access to healthcare or university education.
Load More Replies...Worse are the military wives who feel entitled to a discount because their husband peels potatoes on a carrier.
Ugh.. I so dislike the dependas. It's even worse when their husband has some rank.
Load More Replies...Do nurses get a discount? Firefighters? There's people besides military who put their lives at risk in their work (nurses face a lot more abuse/violence than you might think). Why are military/ex-military so worshipped? (ex-military myself, no discount required, thanks).
My wife is a civilian nurse at an army hospital. There are places that gives them a discount, but most often not, because their CAC doesn't say active duty.
Load More Replies...Things like military discounts are nice, but not a right. Calm the f**k down, guy.
I was never comfortable asking for a Military discount. It just never felt right to me. Same thing for people wanting to pay for your meal, etc. On the way back to Iraq from leave, my buddy and I ordered food at an airport restaurant, and someone anonymously paid for our meals. However, the cashier pointed him out. So when we were done eating, we walked over to his table and thanked him. In front of his boss... who looked surprised, and very impressed with him! Felt good to pay him back. 😁
Why is it the veterans (or active members) except to have everything all the time yet many other much more important members of society get minimum wage?
Not all military. The only time I got a bit annoyed when a restaurant didn't offer a discount was Cracker Barrel. They sell military merchandise and bling. Things that say "support our troops". A bit hypocritical of them to not offer some sort of discount in my opinion.
Load More Replies...In the States, Home Depot gives ACTIVE military a discount, but not retired military. Lowe's offers a 10% discount to active AND retired military.
When I worked retail, I was living in a military-heavy city, and every freaking day, some nasty wife would throw a fit about not getting a military discount. If I was lucky, she'd just complain, but I'd often be treated to the lecture about how being a military wife is tHe HaRdEsT jOB iN tHe WoRLd. I'd argue that having to serve entitled a*****e customers like military wives was harder. Sweetie, you may get 10% off your coffee on base, but the rest of the businesses here are not obligated to treat you all special because you f**k a serviceman.
Load More Replies...It's a way for companies to draw in more business by giving vets a (usually) insignificant discount. I'm a vet and the only place i ever use it is at Lowes. Otherwise, it's not worth it.
We also asked Carrie why she thinks people feel entitled to free art. "Our society and culture sets a tone that says art is barely worth our time, let alone worth investing in," she explained. "Not only can this set us up to expect to pay 'less' for art, it sometimes discourages artists from setting fair prices for their work. In general, people feel more permission to spend money on a dozen streaming services than support an artist."
In terms of how she likes to deal with these individuals, Carrie told Bored Panda, "I've established clear boundaries about what feels good to me to give away or participate in at a discounted rate and what doesn't. If it doesn't meet the criteria it's a no. For whoever needs this reminder: no is a full sentence! I find it a waste of time to offer lengthy explanations to people who won't ever truly invest in my work. I'd rather be making more art."
Customer Is Upset That A Mattress Store Won’t… Help Them Move…?
I'm glad that 2 years later they figured out that the store selling beds is actually just a store selling beds
what a feat of mental acrobatics it must have taken... to go so far backwards that they took 2 years to figure this out...
Load More Replies...if only there was a service like that, where you pay people to move stuff
Yeah, they are sellers not movers. Also, how the heck did you move the rest of your belongings? Adding a bed to that shouldn't be that hard.
I’ve got this mental image of the person phoning everyone they’d ever brought something from/been gifted an item by and telling them to get to the house to move an item. Bonus points for ringing Microsoft and demanding they move the curtains because ‘I brought windows from you’ :p
Load More Replies...Tell me about it!!! The grocery store where I have been buying food for 10 years will NOT pay for my colonoscopy!! Come on...you OWE me!
If I owned a furniture store, you couldn't pay me enough to move something from a customer's home. Who knows what parasite infestation they may have. It would be terrible to infest your furniture store with bedbugs by doing that kind of favor. I'm good at organizing and a friend with a moving company referred one of his customers to me for help. Her stuff looked nice. Her house was nice. Then when we started, she had tons of bedbugs infesting everything. She knowingly moved them to a new place. I refused to work until it was dealt with. Which never happened. I can't imagine knowingly inviting movers and organizers into a home full of bedbugs. Gross.
We had bought a large bed from a local furniture store. A few years later we needed it moved to another room. The owner of the furniture sent two men out to do it and refused to take any money. (The movers got very large tips for their ten minutes of work.) A furniture store has employees skilled in moving furniture, so the request is not irrelevant. They certainly have no obligation to outsource those workers, but there's nothing inappropriate about asking politely whether the service is available if you offer to pay. I suspect that these people don't know how to ask politely.
Load More Replies...‘They sold us a bed’ as if there is some responsibility or blame. How about ‘we bought a bed’.
Always pay attention to active v passive with s**t like this. There's a reason why a certain group of politicians in the US and UK love saying "Mistakes were made" instead of "We screwed up again."

We also asked Jill why she thinks people feel entitled to free art. "They don't think it's as 'important' as being a doctor, lawyer or so on," she said. "They think it's something people 'just do for fun'. Maybe it's plain ignorance, and you can't blame somebody for something they don't know, I guess. Unless it's someone who thinks they're entitled to free anything and not just art."
And her response to these entitled individuals? "Be polite and say no thank you. And then to not engage further. I don't think it's worth your time, energy or patience to get into that conversation with people like this."
The Guy In The Comment Section Gets It
I used to do photography as a side hustle and I had someone hit me up like this for a highschool graduation shoot. I told her my price and she gave me the whole "exposure" line and wanted me to do it for free. I gave in and told her I'd do it. She got 3 hours on location and then I spent a few hours retouching everything up to get them to look just right. Then I sent them to her. The ones I sent looked pretty much like the photos in this post. She called me all bent out of shape because I blurred her face out of the shots. When she asked why I did that, I told her that that was the free exposure. If she wanted the full exposure, it was gonna cost her $250. In the end, I got my $ but she didn't tip at all. I wonder why.
This is a delicious malicious compliance meets choosing beggar story!
Load More Replies...The thing that drives me the most crazy is that a lot of the time, the influencer is not poor or can't afford it and is asking for help to pay for it. They usually can afford it just fine. It's always these rich family youtubers or something. They're truly just selfish and have an overblown sense of their fame. As if we should just be so grateful we were even asked by them.
This generation of entitlement is mind boggling and seems to be just getting worse.
Please don’t assume all of us are like that! People like me exist - it’s just the jerks who are vocal. Thank you! Signed, a friendly booklover who actually treats people like people <3
Load More Replies...Lastly, Carrie added how she has found a healthy way to handle these situations. "I personally felt more frustration and resentment towards these 'choosy beggars' before I sat down and truly asked myself when or where I'd be comfortable working at a discounted or free rate. Reflecting on what works for me, which won't be the same answer for everyone, has really helped me shift away from resentment and move closer to amused ambivalence."

$10 For A Mobile Haircut
Exactly YouTube is a miracle I learned how to punch someone while I had no hands or feet
Do they think their hair is like a garden hedge? If so, someone correct them, garden hedges posses much higher IQ.
So, you say 'yes' go there, go crazy with the clippers, cut off LOTS of hair, say 'oops, too much, that'll be $90, thanks'.
I've been cutting my own bangs for decades! It's really not that hard once you learn to take your time & use the good quality, sharp scissors. Plus I had an excellent stylist teach me back in the 70's. He passed away 3 years ago & I truly miss him!
Load More Replies...Actually most places will do bangs for $10 or $15. It really isn't the same cutting 5 or 1 inches off. It's MUCH different.
I'm just looking for someone to come to my house, cut my bangs AND pay me... It's actually a favour I'd be doing, you know: free training and the honour to deal with my lovely persona. Ah and don't forget *the exposure*...
Grab a damn scissors, put scotch tape around your bangs as a guide and do it like we all had to do it. Big baby
I started cutting my own hair after paying salons good money to cut my hair so badly I had to fix it myself. I have long straight hair, so it takes maybe 15 minutes every couple of months.
Jill left us with some words of wisdom as well, "Maybe someday, everywhere, art as a profession would stand on equal footing with other professions. And I do mean all forms of art, including music, literature and so on. But I get this feeling that even if it did, there will always be people who think they can just ask for free stuff whether it's art or not. Let's just feel sorry for them, I guess, while at the same time protecting ourselves and our livelihoods. That's probably more positive than hating on them for being the unfeeling pernicious underhanded unscrupulous freeloaders they are," she added with a laugh.
Be sure to check out Jill's website and her wonderful artwork as well right here.
Forgot About This Gem From The Other Year From When I Was Trying To Sell My Old Phone!
These people always make up a chronically Ill/sad child or terrible trauma to try and guilt trip you into giving them free or heavily discounted items. It makes me sick that people try and trick/scam others like this.
Especially when there are people who do have children like that

I've heard & used crotch goblin, but semen demon is new to me! I love it, and 100% stealing it!!!
Load More Replies...I never understood why "This is my personal business that doesn't effect you in any way, but I want you to hear it" is a reason to rip someone off. I have had several people think that because they have children think that my services should be free.. sorry. not sure how you have kids negates me paying bills.
They ALWAYS say it's for their kid's birthday or for Christmas or something and then yell at the seller for "ruining it" for their kid. This guy had the perfect responses. The price increase killed me.
Just answer with - I need money for "whatever" so every time you ask the price is going up.
Influencers have a really bad reaction to the word 'no.' While I don't understand asking for free things, I at least understand why they're trying to get it for free. But if someone says no, just say okay and move on. But there's this really childish and spoiled name-calling that happens, especially when it's for the 'child's present'- like how dare you not give my kid what they want! It's so bizarre. It's like a child having a tantrum because they didn't get a candy bar.
The only time they don't mind the word "no" is when they're the ones saying it. "No, I don't wanna pay".
Load More Replies...I stopped selling things online. It is NOT worth my time to deal with these people. Don't forget the ones the flake, ghost you or just do s**t like above.
Whether a choosy beggar wants a painter, a graphic designer, or a photographer to create something for them, they are somehow not shy at all about asking for what they want while knowing they can’t offer any money. Influencers slide into the DMs of artists and restaurants requesting free pieces and meals assuming that the “exposure will be worth it”, meanwhile the artists and chefs just want to pay rent and buy groceries without worrying about taking on extra jobs. One clever artist found his own way to put choosy beggars on blast and created a whole Twitter account for it. The account is called For Exposure and was started by South Korea-based cartoonist Ryan Estrada in 2013. In fact, we even have a Bored Panda article featuring some of their best posts right here.

Twitter Art Commissioner Gets His First Choosing Beggar
I can picture them in the hospital bed, all bruised & swollen in the face, connected to all kinds of tubes etc., turning their head to their crying family and croaking their last words just before the beeping turns into a flatline: "Tell ArtistName that I really liked their work." 😂
I’d love to know the difference in time between the artists last message and the car crash message
When I die, I'm gonna make sure my family know about a $15 piece of art that I always always wanted, too... smh
Oh come on, fifteen bucks is an absolute steal and you STILL resorted to that disgusting tactic??
The For Exposure account invites followers and fellow artists to share the most outlandish responses they have received from potential clients after informing them of their rates. “Surprised by your invoice,” reads one tweet. “I put a lot of smileys in my emails, so I thought we’d become friends and you wouldn’t charge.” Another boldly states, “If we had money for this, we’d be going after real artists… who paint on real canvases. Not the digital fake stuff.” Unfortunately, a lot of artists are willing to take on free labor at the beginning of their careers, but that does not mean they should. “I was very confused as a young artist,” Estrada told the BBC. “I had all of these people telling me that they were just small companies, so they couldn't afford to pay me, but could offer me exposure so that big companies would want to hire me.”
It's Fun To See Them Get This Kind Of Attention Once In A While
Genuine question as I don't really understand this whole "influencer" thing; how many followers does someone need to have to be regarded as a real influencer (if there is such a thing). 36,000 seems like a low number, I'd have thought it would need to be in the low millions at least?
"And that, students, brings us to the era of Karens & Influencers." (students audibly groan and visibly recoil at the mere mention)
Hahaha 36,000 is not an influencer anyway. I follow dog accounts with more than that 😆
It goes well with the single hip and no belly button

Not to mention the high cost of materials that many forms of art require. “People think that art is just a fun hobby,” Estrada says. “But it's the difference between enjoying baking brownies on the weekend and working as a chef in a restaurant. I'm not at all defending this person. Cause they are clearly delusional.... and should not just expect people to give her handouts because she is a single mother... I am a single mom of 3 myself and have to work for everything my kids and I have and wouldn't expect it any other way. However I don't think it's fair to say a pregnant single parent should stop "popping them out" when we don't know the circumstances. Their partner may have walked out on them or passed away after she became pregnant. We can't really assume that it's someone who just runs around town getting knocked up over and over again without any thought of birth control. Again not saying that this isn't an outrageous ask she is making. Just saying that making a blanket statement of all pregnant single mothers not being responsible it a bit harsh.

Now, you might be wondering how it is even possible for so many entitled people to exist and to demand whatever they want for little to no cost. Don’t these people understand how the world works? Well, apparently, they might just find rules unfair. According to a series of studies published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, it is very difficult to get entitled individuals to follow rules because they just don’t think they should apply to them. Emily Zitek of Cornell University and Alexander Jordan of Harvard Medical School conducted a series of studies to understand why entitled people just won’t follow rules, but nothing seemed to motivate them.

“We thought that everyone would follow instructions when we told people that they would definitely get punished for not doing so, but entitled individuals still were less likely to follow instructions than less entitled individuals,” said Zitek. Finally, Zitek and Jordan reached a conclusion that, “Entitled people do not follow instructions because they would rather take a loss themselves than agree to something unfair.” Zitek explained that anyone in charge of entitled individuals, like managers or educators, needs to navigate the challenge of making rules seem “fair” to them if there is any chance of the guidelines being adhered to.

Yuppers. Thats the average pay for waitstaff in the US, which is why tipping is such a big deal here.
Load More Replies...Ah yes, the goode olde American, "you'll make the rest up in tips" if you grovel enough to your customers.
The list, meh...whatever - but $2 AN HOUR!!! - I thought slavery was abolished!
Absolutely disgraceful rate of pay. They expect you to work for this pittance and still eat? Kids get paid more for doing a paper round, babysitting, running a lemonade stand. And NO, your customers should not be expected to make that up so they can pay their rent. Pay servers a decent wage you cheapskates! This is "supposedly" the best country in the world? Dream on Americans. Treating honest workers like slaves...$2.13 an hour is NOTHING! Make it law that minimum wage applies to EVERY job and not just some. The server bringing food to the table to make money to feed her kids should not be deemed less worthy of a living wage than the student flipping burgers for the summer. Jesus Christ this makes me so bloody mad!
Yes, most of us in the States hate this system, as well. I'd tip regardless but we need to pay servers a f*****g living wage, at minimum. Tips should reward good service not subsidize ownership's labor costs.
not saying this justifies the pay at all but to have the hourly rate set that low they have to guarantee that the employee will make federal minimum wage in tips and if they don’t they are responsible for paying the money to make it federal minimum wage
minimum wage for waiters is $2.13/hour, so long as tips bring that up to the regular minimum wage. It's terrible, after that's why we're stuck paying tips, because otherwise they starve!

What the hell?! Even more so for those who (hopefully no one) actually will do this.

So what is the best way to deal with an entitled individual? According to Emily Zitek, “It is hard to change someone’s personality, and research indicates that it is particularly difficult to make someone feel or act less entitled. But we can do things to avoid reinforcing someone’s sense of entitlement. For example, when entitled people make unwarranted demands, it might be better not to give in, because doing so may make them even more certain that their entitlement is justified. And when saying ‘no’ to entitled people, it may help to explain why your refusal is fair, because perceptions of unfairness are linked to even more entitled behavior in the future.”
Make Me Milk, Deliver It To Me Consistently, And Make Sure You Don’t Have That Vaccine
‘No vaccine’ O_o I must. Stop. Scrolling. Or I might lose hope completely in the human population.
I think the best thing for this baby would be to be given up for adoption so it could (hopefully) have a responsible parent. I hope adoption agencies screen out antivaxers and anti science applicants. I know when my niece and her husband adopted a baby boy they were given a boatload of instructions and restrictions. If they didn't follow them they could lose the baby... the agency could take it back.
If ignorance is bliss, this woman must be extremely blissful. I doubt it would matter that the vaccine wouldn't show up in breast milk, just her bodies antibodies.
Which is sadly probably the only antibodies her poor child would get.

I know every food pantry/food bank is set up differently. But they all have a system set up usually based on points and you get certain number of points based on family size and if you have babies. The people I’ve interacted with have always been very helpful and non judgmental. However, sometimes you just get sick of getting what feels like people’s left overs. It’s donated food so it’s not always in the best condition. Often things are very close to expiration dates. Packaging is almost always damaged, which can affect the food inside. Sometimes it makes you feel like a second class citizen. The first time I was able to get non bruised produce at an actual grocery store I was very close to tears. If you’ve never had to use a food pantry/bank then you need to say a great big thank you to life!

Here in Austria we have an App called "TooGoodToGo". Depending on the shop you can get a lot of food for around 4€ (like 2-3 kg fruit and veggies, or a whole bag of stuff from a bakery, a mixed box with something from every department of the store). It might be a little bruised or the packaging is damaged - or it's close to the best before date. It's for everyone to use and you get what you get. I use it regularly, if there is stuff in it I don't like there is always someone willing to trade (family, neighbors, colleagues). There are food banks too, but you have to qualify. The app is just something to reduce waste and save money.
Yes, but I’m assuming that if you can’t afford groceries, you can’t afford a house or an apartment with a lawn to garden. If you’re fortunate enough to have a community garden nearby, those slots often fill up quickly.

The Sense Of Entitlement Is Strong Here, Even With A Significant Portion Of Their Expenses Paid For By Family
Pay for your own honeymoon - and if you can’t afford it, don’t have one. Seems very simple to me. Guests shouldn’t be expected to pay for anything at a wedding.
Dude, when my parents got married they were broke university students. They went camping on their bicycles for their honeymoon and it worked out just fine.
Tell me you're a spoiled b*tch without telling me you're a spoiled b*tch.
I would rather die than ask anyone for money. I got married in front of a pastor on his living room couch with my mom and BFF as witnesses, slept in an airbnb in my own city for 3 nights because we couldn't afford anything else. I wouldn't change a thing.
Went to a wedding that stated that they only want cash for a gift, just cash, and the "Wishing Well" will be at the directly at the entrance to the reception. Was made to be a bridesmaid, only because they had added an extra groomsmen. Us guests ended up paying for all their honeymoon spending money, plus a new back fence. I got stuck having to save the daytime part of the hens night, as the maid of honour f****d it up that badly that my family spent the whole day hosting a poolside, handmade woodfired pizza, and champagne, lunch. My sister got guilt tripped into doing the photography for only $400 (about 15 hours on the day, + at least that editing), instead of the thousands she usually charges as a professional. I house & pet sat for the couple of weeks of their honeymoon. Added bonus of having to fill in for one of them as full-time temporary store manager over the same period. Area manager hated me, also knew that I was the only capable one, out of 50+ employees. They chose my exes side of the break-up...
This Model Looking For A Free Wedding Photographer. Dancing Will Be Free For You Too
This one can be different from influencers. It can easily be photo model posting to group for people looking for TFP. Lots of beggining photographers are looking for first wedding shooting for free (especially because there is considerable risk for the client they’ll not like the photos, or for photographer to miss a important moment and shooting it again is impossible, so you might want to try it for free with people who don’t care too much).
Load More Replies..."You can keep all the photos" - as though the photos aren't the photographers intellectual property.
This does not belong to this list. TFP is common practice, especially for new photographers and its also common that both sides does it for free (for example when you’re shooting your first ever wedding). They’re not asking for specific professional photographer, just asking if someone is willing to do it for free, which is completely possible and completely ok. I know few photographers who shot their first wedding for free, to people who did not care so much about the quality of the result, so they have something to show to other potential clients as a reference.
And you cannot know where is this posted into - it can be FB group for people looking for TFP.

This is very culture dependent. In my area, it's normal for people to help friends and colleagues move house if it isn't too far. The 'going rate' for payment is providing food, drinks, and the understanding that you will make yourself available when they are moving (or need help with something).
Friends who had previously helped me move were looking for help. I was 7 months pregnant at the time. I wasn't able to move the boxes, so I helped in a different way, by making lunch for our friends and the helpers. My husband was able to help physically.
Load More Replies...If the man is a close friend, he will help you move, or swap vehicles with you for the weekend so you can borrow his truck. You give him pizza and beer as a thankyou. If he is not your friend, you are asking to hire him and his truck, and he gets whatever cash price he chooses to set. If you are unsure whether he is a close friend, ask your self this question: "Have I ever loaned him my vehicle and performed manual labour for free on my weekend to help him move house?"
this isn’t that ridiculous, it’s dumb to complain but i think a favor in exchange for a favor isn’t that bad to ask for
Some people value their time differently. He may not consider you a close enough friend to want to do it for free. Just because he has a truck doesn't mean he has to help everyone move for pay in pizza and beer.
NTA... Supernormal where I come from. Would never ask for cash... even if I don´t know them very well. Pizza and Beer is a perfect "pay".
Yeah maybe when you're in your early 20's.

Famous Rapper Wants Expensive Breeds Of Dogs For Free
Yes because making your own instant dog fighting ring is the in thing. What the actual f**k..
Sitting against a Rolls Royce. A**hole. I'm sure he'll be good to them. Also, the Rolls would account for about 20% of his net worth which says a lot about his priorities.
A wise man once told me - Want in one hand and sh*t in the other and tell me which one fills up first.
Well, like the saying goes, "Want in one hand, $h!t in the other, se which gets full first."
Ok But Like… I Tipped 20%? Am I Wrong For Thinking That’s A Bit Off Putting To Say That To A Customer?
This is why I don't use food delivery services. Good novelty during the pandemic shut downs but I don't like paying double what my food costs for delivery fees and tips. It sucks for all the hard workers depending on it. I tip well when I'm in a situation that calls for it but I seriously won't contribute to the next form of "tipping culture" by using these services.
Neither are in the wrong. Drive should get a different job though. Being a worker in the food delivery service business is notorious for garbage pay.
I kinda think that there should be a reasonable set distance-related delivery fee to make pricing transparent for both delivery person and customer. It's not fair to stiff the driver, but it's also not affordable for some potential customers to give a $20 tip on every $22.50 purchase. Price delivery fairly upfront, and let customers choose not to order instead of cheating a delivery person.
Hard disagree. Delivery compensation (separate issue from delivery fee) should be based on actual distance, not a set price, which makes it an issue of corporate greed. Customers should also not be expected to effectively pay part of a persons salary through tips. The whole tipping culture in the USA needs to be changed so that tips are at most an actual extra and not an integral part of someones salary.

I think I am going to literally have nightmares about how this person misspelled “guzzler” as “gusalur”. It took me a full minute to even realize what they meant as I thought a “gusalur” was some car make/model I was not familiar with.
It’s the new Lamborghini Gusalur, (pronounced “goose allure” for flair) ✌️

Lady Wants Paid $200 To Remove And Haul Off Ramp
So…..disassemble the ramp, take away the wood and PAY them for the privilege?!
Yeah, I would not charge for that...be like "come and take this c**p I don't want anymore for free!"
Load More Replies...Idk why this is here. Seems like a normal deal to me. I never sold things on Market Place that I had to bring to the buyer. Maybe they should take it apart beforehand but I can imagine that a buyer helps with that considering it is a very solid thing. $200 fot that amount of wood is kinda cheap.

Proper sentence structure seems to be a thing of the past. A victim of internet slang and lazy minds. We'll eventually devolve to grunts like our neanderthal ancestors. (I'm being a little sarcastic, but only a little).

Let Your Teen Pay Me To Dog Sit… Cuz Amenities
A child swimming alone in a stranger's pool? No way that could turn out badly!
If someone actually let's their teen do this, then both parties would be stupid. You don't leave teens alone in their own apartment. That's just asking for trouble (and So. Many. Parties).
If dog cute enough = me pet sit for free. I does this with my friends’ friends’ parents’ dogs and cats at my place for a whole month when they were on vacation. For free. But I guess it’s rude to ask a complete stranger to pet sit and give them money.
omg. i’m a dog sitter and i charge $40 a day, i had a client who paid extra well and the last time i watched his dog he told me about his previous sitter who was a teenager he hired twice and he paid his $60 a day and all he did was sit in his house all day on his phone because his mom didn’t let him use their wifi over the summer. the dog was super low maintenance too, only needed like 1/3 mile a day and he refused to walk him
Royalty Beggar
This is a weird one. There are many people who are more than happy to work for the queen. One of the reasons is that when they move on to their next jobs they will command much higher wages. And of course this is absolutely stupid. She is rich enough to pay her staff a proper wage.
Love how this graphic shows a rich person acting cheap, AND the markets tanking. These two things are definitely related!
I don't think the Queen actually asked for this. Probably her Head of Staff.

"Free" is code for "I don't want to deal with transporting this, which is why I'm not selling it, hauling it to a recycling centre, or donating it." It means "I am advertising a job of removing one McGuffin from my territory in a legal and pro-social manner. Make this McGuffin your problem, not mine, and I will pay you the generous sum of one McGuffin." If you don't want to do the job, why would you expect to receive the pay?

Exploiting Students For Her Financial Gain
Didn't Even Have A Chance To Respond
Hahaha this reminds me, my new apartment neighbours have to wait a week for their WiFi to be installed and they were sad they couldnt watch Netflix, so I texted them my WiFi username and password to use for the week, I don’t mind sharing. JUST TRYING TO BE KIND AND NEIGHBOURLY 🙃 the wife texted me back asking if they needed to pay me anything (I would have said no!) but I accidentally didn’t see her text message since I was working - 2 hours later she texts “OK FINE NEVERMIND WE DONT EVEN WANT TO USE YOUR WIFI I GUESS WE’RE JUST A BOTHER” 😂😂 I didn’t even know what to say so I didn’t reply.
LMAO after posting this I actually just logged on to my internet provider account to check the usage….they’re totally using my WiFi anyways 😂 I’ll let them do it but I’m changing my password next week.

"Most Lumber As Payment"
Honestly I would take it. I would grab my friends a few axes and a few beers and we would just have some fun. I remember how fun it was when we tore down our old cabin on our farm when I was little.
I’d smash it and tear it down for free too! :) but I dont want the materials, OP can figure that out.
Load More Replies...TBH, they should advertise it as "Want to destroy a house? Have you always wanted to do demo? Do you want to rent a tank or bulldozer, and drive it through a building? Do you and your mates like to smash through walls with sledgehammers? Is this the youtube opportunity of your dreams? You may tear down, blow up, or burn to the ground this condemned house, as long as you haul off and dispose of the remains." I can imagine that there are youtubers out there who might be interested. There are places you can pay to drive a bulldozer or a tank and destroy stuff, so maybe someone wants to rent one and destroy a whole house?
That would be AWESOME. They'd get fifteen offers in the first twenty four hours! Or why not sell it to a film crew making a movie in which a house explodes/falls over/burns down?

Spotted: Armchair Spender
This isn’t a choosing beggar. This is someone saying that she should give to charity rather than wantonly spend. He doesn’t have the right to say what she spends her money on, but he isn’t asking her to give it to him.
on top of that, she actually has 12 kids, 5 are adopted and 2 she is fostering, it’s pretty messed up for him to try to dictate her spending
Load More Replies...FYI before saying that it’s bad that she didn’t donate that money to charity, she actually has 12 kids and 5 of her kids are adopted, 2 she is currently fostering. a lot of her adopted kids have had really hard lives and if she wants to pay 1k to give them a good memory, good on her.
I actually watch her YouTube channel called the doughertydozen! She’s a really good mom to her kids with some being adopted and some not. She tends to their needs as some of them have differing needs based on previous homes etc.
Top post said it best, we're living in the stupidest timeline in history. I leave for work tonight, I'll be gone a minimum of two weeks with potential for more due to the end of summer coming up, my sister knows I could be gone for a long time. Asked me to go on an all day road trip today to the next town. I said no because I just want to relax for my last few hours of freetime, in my house. She's now all over Facebook telling everyone that I'm lazy and don't want to spend time with family. I've been home two weeks, there was plenty of time to ask me for a small road trip, not last minute!
I work for a bank and investigate joint account ownership disputes (you find out that a relative opened an account with you as an account owner such as primary or secondary and dispute it). I once determined a person wasn't responsible for the account and they were legally released from a $7k+ credit card debt (as well as any negative credit bureau impact). After that, this same person wanted us to refund more than 6 months of payments for her late husband's account. Like, "I just absolved you of $7k of debt but shame on us for not refunding money your ex spouse paid to their card"
