We binge on shiny Instagram feeds of “perfect” people and, admit it, sometimes we want it to be us. They make it look like they are living their best lives and they are always the best version of themselves. We want those beautiful photos of our own that will get deserved recognition and appreciation. The grass is greener on social media and it’s a sign of the times. But when we look around or in the mirror – we don’t seem to have the opportunity for that flawless studio photography shot. But what if we told you that you can make it work? It‘s creative ideas and talent that really count here and this professional photographer has it all. Orlando-based Geo Leon makes the photography industry a little more real and accessible to us by revealing the behind the scenes of his best shots. And if you think it’s always luxury rentals and expensive equipment… well, you are about to change your mind.

Haha funny how that person is trying really hard to make good photos and I just randomly find something that looks pretty when I have my-ish professional camera and take a pic of it

Yip, this is how it's done. You just need a spare pair of hands to hold the reflectors - and if you're too Poverty Row to afford reflectors, use white sheets draped on a clothes horse. But I'm interested to know: what software or filters did he use to saturate the colours? Photoshop, or something else we ought to hear about?

it's so cropped that you can already tell in the edited shot that the background wasn't great

At least four people to take a pic of the model...

When we look at professional photographs, we rarely get to have a glimpse of the whole creative process. We often just assume that a beautiful photo must be taken in a fancy place and it must cost a fortune. And this is not always the case. Geo Leon proves that you can turn casual locations you’d never expect to have potential, such as a parking lot, a grocery shop, the nearest park, a restaurant or even your house into an Instagram-worthy set if you know some clever photography hacks. Staying creative and open-minded can create a magical atmosphere for an artistic photoshoot in the bushes or fruit and vegetable aisle.

Suddenly a lot less glamorous when you see it like that. Laying on the pavement with your head in the flower bed does not equal 'living your best life' to me!

This is how it's always done. You just need a spare pair of hands to hold the reflectors. If you're too Poverty Row to afford reflectors, use white sheets draped on a clothes horse or (if you can't afford bedding) a white wall. Tell us, though: how did he get the tuned and saturated colours? Photoshop, or something else we could do to know about?

these posts are quite useless. ofc its alot lessglamorous when you change perspective. its luke looking at a xhild caught up eating sand or a person riding a bike. not allthings you may understand as an outside viewer.. some of these pictures are meant to illustrae how someone feels. issueis with cultute of ppl copying each other... acting lying to themselves coz they dont feel unique enough or just want to participate in the idea planted in their head..by media. honesty. genuinity are truly important.

She has stalken a person without sleeping, having any bath, eating or drinking water. When she was spying him, someone took her for a drugged homeless and leave her some fresh food, that she used to hide from her victim.

Wait, did they close the road for a photo or do they have a death wish. I hope the road was closed for construction or something and then they used it for the photo because it was convenient (and not that they closed the road just to take a photo or that the road was open when they took it)

Ok,, I get artistic talent and great pictures ETC, but this is a live shopping center. Meaning, she is leaning on the fruit and has actively contaminated at least one of them (the one with the cord plugged into it). I do hope that the artist at least purchased all of the fruit that was a part of the models image (meaning make up, clothing, anything that was intentionally put in contact with her, the staff or the equipment), and had already cleared using their store for the shot. If they did this, KUDOS! If not, I lose respect for the artist and the team. Note: I understand that most "contamination" here would not be eaten as you peel the fruit, but it is the concept of doing the right thing I am pointing out, not just the fruit being edible. Look at the shoppers seeing this, do you think they will buy that banana?

“As a photographer, we always show the final product. It's always great to showcase the work behind the vision,” the artist explained to Bored Panda about why he decided to share more than just polished photos. This honest way of managing social media seems to attract a big audience and is quickly becoming a new trend. In this oversaturated world, people are longing for something real and truthful. This is exactly why 140k followers on Instagram stand by Leon’s side and anticipate his new inspirational artwork and photography tips.
