People Are Sharing The Hilarious Names They Now Call Their Pets Instead Of Their Original Ones (New Pics)
Plumbarton Oaks may sound like an Irish pub with sticky drink-laced counters or an exclusive gated neighborhood inspired by the Victorian era. But what if I tell you it's a cat's nickname? All magic aside, her name is Plum. But a loving owner's inventive brain cells have a plan of their own.
When one Twitter user told the community about how he calls his doggo everything but its real name, a tirade of knick-knack names started pouring in. No wonder 95% of people, when asked on a forum, said they give their pets nicknames and see no problem.
A dog named Kenzo answering to Barktavia Spencer is just one out of many hilarious examples, but you've got to read it to believe it. And waste no time sharing your pet names in the comments, because every four-legged friend, secretly or not, has one!

Naming an animal helps to create a more empathic bond because that’s how humans show that we care. Think of shelter cats who’re waiting there for forever families having not much except their names. The same goes for pet nicknames. New Jersey-based writer and full-blown animal lover Murphy Moroney believes that it’s totally normal to give pets multiple names. “Like people, their personalities grow and change, and sometimes that means their names change, too,” she wrote in a piece for Popsugar magazine.
Bored Panda contacted Tekla Taylor, a feminist writer and parent of a cat named Plumbarton Oaks, who told us why everyone should have some fun with pet names. Tekla believes that “having goofy jokes about our pets and making up silly nicknames gives us an outlet to be silly sans judgment.”
The writer thinks that pet names reveal a lot about the owner too. For example, “funny names give joy every time you think about them or joke about them, which is really a gift that keeps on giving.” Meanwhile, if a pet is given a name which is too serious, it may sound a little off. “Animals with names like Jeff or Dave are particularly hilarious to me. Our dog is named Arthur, which makes people think we have a very weird human son,” Tekla explained.
It turns out, Plumbarton Oaks (aka Plum) the cat has more super creative nicknames. “Plum is often called Plumbelina, Sugarplum, Angel, Plumbles, and so on.” Tekla from the Northern Virginia, has another cat named Hazel, who answers to “Hazel-bean, Hazel-Basil, Hazelnut, Trash Panda, Garbage Child.” You can easily guess the personality differences between these two cats.

True story that you won't believe: We went to the shelter to get a new cat because our cat named Tetter was lonely after his catfriend died. We found a cat named Irya that we thought would be a good new friend. The shelter people: "She has some issues with being afraid of everyone, would never be social cat, would never liked to be hugged, not recommended, do not adopt." So we returned home with a cat named Irya. From the moment the cats met they were friends and our cat Tetter called her Me-me. After 6 months of getting used to us she sometimes came to sniff us out. And now after 3 years she is the most friendly cat. Allthough she does still have some quirks like not wanting to be cornered by humans and never walk close to humans. But she listens when we call her by her new name Me-me.

And when we got married, I ended up calling her Little Girl. So, she had four names: Meow Chan, Felony, Cinder, and Little Girl. She didn't answer to any of them.

I have a cat named Wallace. I call him Wallace von Kitty Pants. I also have a poodle called Max - he gets called, most embarrassingly, Pubes. Sort of evolved from Poodley-Noodley to poobs, eventually to Pubes. I try not to call him that when anyone is around!
My dog's name is winston but I prefer to call him Sir Loin. Or Super Happy Party Dog
My dog's name is Daisy, we call her Lazy Daisy, Pup, Puppy, Daisy dog, and if she's bad "about to become slippers"(kidding ofc😂). My cat has less nicknames, his real name is Pippin, then there's Pip, Kitty, cat, Jingles(bc of the bell on his collar), and CCCAAATTT!!!!!
