50 Times People Couldn’t Believe Their Luck In Thrift Stores, Flea Markets, And Garage Sales (New Pics)
Thrifting is a bit like going on a small adventure. You never quite know what to expect and what treasures you’ll accidentally find. You’d be surprised by how many people have embraced thrifting as a hobby. There are tons of passionate folks out there who can’t wait to bring others into the fold.
That’s where one Facebook group with 3.1 million members comes in. The ‘Weird (and Wonderful) Secondhand Finds That Just Need To Be Shared’ project is an extremely well-known and celebrated online community. It encourages people to go out there and look for awesome secondhand goods and then post about them in the group. We’ve curated a list of recent amazing finds to wow and inspire you, Pandas. I Was Driving In The Neighborhood And Found This Floor Rug Rolled Up At The End Of Someone’s Sidewalk. As I Was Looking Over It, The Owner Of The House Came Out And Asked If I Wanted It. He Told Me It Was A Tapestry Rug That He Hung In His Wall. It Had Never Been Used As A Rug. I Asked Why He Was Getting Rid Of It And He Said He Was Changing His Decor. I Told Him I Couldn’t Lift It In My Car. It Was Super Heavy. He Helped Me Put It In My Car. He Told Me It Was Free, Merry Christmas! I Almost Fainted. I Had Wanted One For So Long, But It Was So Expensive To Buy. I Paid 0 For It! Win!!!
That is awesome. And makes me miss living in Germany even more than before. Lived there as a preteen and still fondly remember the nights of going “Junking”. I lived in a community with its share of wealthy people and I changed my entire bedroom decor 3 times there over a 3 year period. And all for free. And that’s just one of the things we did. We also managed to pick up a rolling office chair that stayed with our family for daily use for nearly 30 years before it was worn out to the point we merited it ready for replacement. I really do miss this and wonder if it’s still something done in Germany.
The central motif is called "Tree of Life". Based on the colors and patterns, it may be Anatolian or western Iran.
I Lost My Boston Terrier, Ollie, To Old Age This Summer And I’m Pretty Sure I Found Him At Goodwill Today As Christmas China
I wish I could find my Buddy like that (lost him in November). Sorry for your loss.
Audi and I would happily eat our kibble out of Ollie's Christmas china.
As someone who is currently watching her beloved dog succumb to old age, this hits hard. Especially given that he's a Boston Terrier mix, he's got a lot of Ollie's features. There's so much I still want to do with him; so much I want him to see and experience. They just leave us too soon. It's not fair. Concerning your find, I choose to believe that, in true dog fashion, this is your sweet boy's way of comforting you, of showing you he's okay and waiting for his human on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. I think my Charlie will be joining him before too long. Maybe Ollie can show him around when he gets there... 💔😥
Picked Up These Cast Iron Cat Andirons Up From My Buy Nothing Group. I Can't Wait To See Them With The Flames Behind The Eyes!
We are all scary and mean. It's just you soft can-openers see fur, and your braincell disengages.
Load More Replies...This is the best thing ever! Now I want to learn how to make these myself!
Look at that! You can look at the pretty eyes without worrying about any wrath afterwards!
The Facebook group has been around for a long, long time. ‘Weird (and Wonderful) Secondhand Finds That Just Need To Be Shared’ was first founded all the way back in late 2016. Originally, it was meant exclusively for the founders’ friends and family.
However, over time, knowledge about the group spread among the public. This led the project to become the glowing success it is today.
This Was Hand Made In The Seventies And Is One Of A Kind! Bought It Second Hand And Finally Got It Into My Space Today. It's So Gorgeous And The Details Are Amazing. I'm An Herbalist And I'm Going To Use It As A Magical Herbal Storage Hutch. I Thought It Needed To Be Seen And Appreciated Here With All Of You Creative Lovely Treasure Hunters!
If you're going to do any work on it, whatever you do, please don't paint it. Restore it with new stain, but no paint. A part of my natural wood-loving soul crumbles when I see people painting over beautiful hardwood furniture
Mom painted all our antique furniture in the '60's. Then the natural look came back and we spent countless hours with Zip Strip getting it all off. You can never recover the original finish when stripping paint. Value dropped like a rock!
Load More Replies...that is absolutely gorgeous but i hope OP never repaints this any other colour. some varnish is all it needs.
It's beautiful. Maybe just some tung oil and a wax after it's had a good long while to cure?
After Decades Of Weird Gifts From My Cousin, Who Shops Exclusively At Thrift Stores, He Scored A Treasure. I Call Them My "Cavorting Frogs." I Love Them!
i'd welcome these lovely friends into my house any day! i have a shelf they would fit perfectly on
boom boom booom.. we........ all....... stand........ together..... BOOOM BOOOM BOOOOM. I am that old yes
I'm Pretty Excited The Lamp On The Left Was On The Marketplace In Bullhead City, Az For $25 And I Said I Want It I'll Come Get It. She Said Yeah I Was In My Grandma's Stuff We Have One More And I Said Are You Selling It She Said Sure And She Brought It Out 25 Bucks... They Were Very Very Dirty. But I Think It's An Excellent Score
Tiffany lamps are worth hundreds. (and older ones into the thousands, the most expensive sold at over 2 million, even) and whilst these may not be real Tiffany, even some of the copies can be expensive, so getting two for that price is an absolute bargain!
So, jealous. I'm always on the lookout for these. I don't even care if they're reproductions. These two are both fantastic and I'd have snagged them up in a second.
“We created this group so it would be easier for us to share photos of wacky thrifted finds instead of texting them to each other. We left it as a public group because it simply didn’t occur to us that anyone else would be interested in our quirky hobby,” the Facebook users behind the social media group shared in a recent post.
I Found This Cup With A Family Of Mice In A Box Of Christmas Decorations In Salvation Army Trift Store, Ns Canada. It's Already On My Tree❤️
Pictures Don't Do Her Justice. I Am Elated With Today's Buy. Found In An Antique Store In South Of UK. 🥰❤️🌈🍄
You can have a copy for around a hundred, depending on the sites. Got this myself IMG_3960-6...7-jpeg.jpg
These sold for a pretty penny back in the seventies and eighties when people woke up to the beauty of Tiffany style lamps. Of course, the original Tiffany lamps are museum quality priceless, but many of the reproductions are really well made and just as beautiful.
This here resembles the original color scheme quite close, however the original this size (the base was not in this style as pictured here however) might go now for 7/8 grands. Take it with a pinch of salt because all I know a friend was gifted an original one with floor base (so much higher) for the equivalent of 6.5k€ a while ago.
Load More Replies...You can have a copy for about a hundred, depending on the site. Love them too, I got 3, different color schemes and sizes.

“Pretty quickly, a couple of strangers joined and we thought, ‘What the heck, might be fun. Trigger Warning: Loss Of Pet About A Month Ago My Baby Passed Away. Peanut Was More Than Just My Cat- He Was My Emotional Support, My Confidant- My World. Last Night Was A Particularly Rough Night. I Fell Asleep Missing Him So Much And His Sleepy Self. I Decided To Take The Day Off Work And Go Thrifting. I Walked Into A Goodwill And Immediately Found This. It's Nearly Identical To Peanut
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear sweet Peanut 😭😿💔 This is your dear sweet Peanut's spirit telling you that he will always be with you 😻💖
I lost my furbaby Ragamuffin back in 2014. She was 18, possibly older. I got her right off the street.
My Great, Great, Grandmothers Table From Mexico. My Great Grandmother Brought It To Tx When She Came To The Us And She Gave It To My Grandmother When She And My Abuelo Bought Their First House. My Grandma Passed It On To My Mom When She Bought Her First House. I've Lived All Over The Us And The Table Was Too Delicate To Ship But I Knew Some Say I'd Get That Table. I Bought My First House (20 Years After My Travels) Last Year When I Moved Back Home And This Was One Of The First Items I Moved Into The House. My Mom And I Cried As We Brought It In And Set It Up. My Family Had So Little When They Came To The Us But This Table Was Always There. To Drink Cafe Con Pan And Talk Chisme (Gossip), To Cry, To Discuss Difficult Decisions And To Celebrate Anything And Everyone. Oh The Stories This Table Could Tell. Makes Me So Proud To Be A Part Of This Long Line Of Strong Resilient Amazing Women. 🥰
I can see it now: a novel titled, "The Table." A collection of stories concerning events as witnessed by said table.
These generational treasures should be passed on for decades. Always keep this in the family. Xx
In my best Eeyore voice, ohhh, Piglet. So? Why suck the joy out of this lovely story?

I was so jealous of my brother - my mom bought him one of these, when I had been wanting one for so long. And then a couple years ago, I found one for sale at a local second hand store. I brought my son to the store after he got out of school, and he was breathless. The ladies knocked $25 off the price for us because we were so excited about it. And we took it home!!!
Load More Replies...We have this exact one. Someone we know was getting rid of it, so it became ours. I do think it's something that was mass produced, it's plastic inside, but I like it. 🥰
How could anyone just throw this beautiful globe away???? Can't fathom that.
We have a space in my building where people can leave stuff they don't need, but no garbage. Great recycling!
Why someone loves thrifting in garage sales and secondhand shops will depend a lot on the individual. However, there are tons of reasons why you might want to get into thrifting as a hobby, from socializing and adventuring to saving money and finding small ways to help the planet.
My Absolute Wonderful Thrifted Find!!! The 3 Fairy Godmothers From Sleeping Beauty. I Have A Few Of These Disney Characters From The 50-60’s So I’m Always So Excited When I Find Different Characters!
The sass from these three was top level! This dress doesn’t look very good. That’s because it’s on you dear.
Walked Into The Thrift Store And Walked Out With 3-Foot Tall Silverware. As One Does
I used to have the giant fork too, but instead of a knife, I had a spoon. Had to donate it when I downsized for a move.
Well, books are meant to be devoured...maybe not literally, though.
My $8 Thrift Find From The Di Yesterday…not Sure I’ll Ever Use It But It Was Too Unique To Leave. Deviled Egg Christmas Tree…
I love this!!! I always make deviled eggs and am constantly looking for interesting serving dishes. Very lucky.
For one, thrifting is simply a fun activity to get into. You’re checking out places you’ve likely never been to before. You’re getting lots of movement. You’re talking to new people all the time. And you’re on the lookout for cool stuff, whether you have something particular in mind or you’re just browsing.
It gets you out of the house. It sure beats binging social media or lying on the sofa all day long.
Bought This Stock Pot At A Thrift Store 2 Days Ago, And I'm Not Joking When I Say I Keep Opening The Cabinet Just To Look At It! Me And My Sister Made Up A Fun Little Story About It, We Imagine We Run An Animal Rescue, And I Live In The Yellow House, She Lives In The Red House, And The Blue House Is A Barn For Our Animals. Really Is The Best $10 I Ever Spent 💛
So you pay $10 for a beautiful crock pot to only be able to live the yellow House? The smallest house
I was meant to put a smile emoji at the end of that, sorry 😁
Load More Replies...I keep seeing a dish set like this at thrift stores and I hope people give them good homes because they are so cute!
My mom had dishes with this pattern. I still have the matching butter dish.
I Found This Gang At A Church Thrift For .50 For The Whole Gang … They’re Amazing!! 💗
They look like a Bucilla felt kit. Lots of love and time went into making them, so glad they found a good home
I have these exact ones. My mom made them from a kit when I was little. They hang on my tree now.
Found At A Local Flea Market
May have been to serve uranium water. Yes that was once a thing, and promoted as healthy. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Well, thanks a lot! Just kidding, but now I have to go read up on uranium water and see who the genius was who dreamed up that (hopefully short lived) health trend!.
Load More Replies...Actually it’s the chemistry of uranium that makes Vaseline glass glow, not radioactivity. Canary glass, uranium glass, or Vaseline glass emits radiation but the amounts are ridiculously small. Our bodies are subjected to many times more radiation every day through everyday life. So go ahead and enjoy your claret jug!.
On top of that, there’s the thrill of discovery to keep you engaged. Curiosity is a wonderful thing to have, no matter what aspect of our lives we’re talking about. By going thrifting, you’re opening yourself up to new opportunities and possibilities. Look at it like a small adventure where you’re never quite sure how it’ll end. There’s a lot of fun to be found in the unexpected. But only if you’re open to being surprised.
Found This Wonderful Room Divider At An Antique Shop, Still Had The Little Pots And It Still Lights Up. I Love It!
My parents once had similar room divider, but without lights. It was tall (floor-to-ceiling) and very impractical. I tripped over it's leg and divider landed on my back. Fortunately it wasn't heavy, but all planters fell down and broke. This one seems safer. Great find.
Found This A Few Years Ago At Renningers Flea Market In Mount Dora, Fl For $2 And It’s My Most Favorite Christmas Decoration
I have one exactly like this! I keep it in the window all year around.
Am not a fan of this, it’s a bit too strange how do you put it away after Christmas. Pieces of it will am pretty sure will be lost before next time you get it out.
I put it in order on a piece of paper, then tape the bottom with masking tape. The tape comes off easily when it’s time to rehang it.

I have a strawberry one of these. Learned to take a picture of it before I started putting ingredients together lol! No lid though.
Meanwhile, when you’re buying secondhand goods, you’re helping the environment. What this means is that you’re not purchasing new products that have to be manufactured, shipped, and then transported to the shops. This saves a lot in terms of water and fuel.
For instance, the fashion industry uses more than 79 trillion (that’s ‘trillion’ with a ‘t’) liters of water every year. Though buying a secondhand sweater won’t save the planet, it’s small steps like this one that can quickly add up over time.
I Was Visiting My Friend In Paignton Devon And Found This In A Charity Shop. The Price Was 10p. He Really Cost Me 9p If You Consider The Penny Inside. The Date Of The Penny Is The Year I Was Born. He Was Meant To Be Mine. My Lucky Pig 🐷 🍀 Thank You All So Much For Your Kind Words But I Must Add This Bit! Someone Asked If I Happened To Be Born Under The Chinese Zodiac- Year Of The Pig? You’ve Guessed It…1971 My Year Of Birth Was Indeed A Year Of The Pig! The Coin Inside Is Also Dated 1971. My Mind Is Officially Blown 😁
Wow, memory unlocked. I had one of these as a kid. No idea where it came from. I’m from Plymouth.
I was given one of these for my 18th birthday. Don't know if I've still got it - it's probably in a box somewhere!
A „Luck Pig“. I‘ve never seen one of these before, but it is a common theme in Germany for New Years. Pigs of marzipan mostly, with or without coin. Do you have that too in the US?
It's great that you were born in 1971 and the penny is 1971 but that was the point of putting that penny in the pig because that is the year of the pig
Blown glass figurine. I still have a few - all dragons. 2 tiny sitting dragons. 1 medium hanging/flying dragon (while breathing fire) and 1 sea serpent in 5 parts: head, tail, and 3 arching body.
Got This Beauty At A Yard Sale For .50 !!
Mom would have given it pride of place. Pink shades are handmade and hard to find.
I just picked on of these up a couple weeks ago! It has different glass, but I've seen both online. Mine was not that cheap, but was still a better price than I see online.
My grandmother had a similar lamp when I was a young kid, she had it in the spare room, where I'd sleep over. I knocked it over one day when I was about 8 or so. I forever feel guilty about it because it was so pretty.
I have something with the same concept as this but it has tinkerbell at the bottom
Such a sweet lamp!! Very dainty & pretty. Looks like it’s a little bit heavy. Is the base made of marble & tree made of iron, ceramic, or plastic?
Found This Gorgeous Piece In An Antique Shop In The Republic Of Ireland. Cost All Of €70. My Favorite Piece Of Furniture. The Rug We Found At An Auction House And Paid €15 For It And Another One
Buying secondhand goods is also easier on the wallet. You’re giving clothes, furniture, and knickknacks a second chance. Instead of ending up in a landfill or having to shell out for something new, you end up getting more use and happiness out of them. If money’s tight, secondhand shopping can be a real lifesaver. However, times are changing… and not necessarily for the better.
I Love Seeing Everyone’s Collections 🎄🎄🎄✨ Mine Has Changed A Bit Over The Years As I’ve Gifted Trees And Been Given More, This Is The Majority, Though There Are A Few Strays Around The House. ♥️ It All Started With The Large One On The Left That Was Given To My Family When I Was A Little Girl, (Our Neighbors Owned A Ceramics Shop) It’s My Favorite Decoration And Is Always The First To Come Out Of Hiding. Every Tree Here Was Either A Gift Or Thrift. Eventually I’d Love To Find A Large White Tree In The Wild ✨✨
I have one of those that my grandmother made in a ceramics class in the 50's. I love getting it out every year!
I love these trees. I have just found someone that makes them in Australia and I have ordered a green and a white. I cant wait to get them
Mom and the family made and sold many of these from the '70's thru early '90's. Very much in vogue then! They're lovely!
Thank You All For The Lovely Comments On My Previous Post About The Thrifted, Donated, And Inherited Jewelry Trees I Made For My Mum And Sisters. I now know what I'm going to make for everybody next year for Christmas!!
I'm usually not the creative arts and crafts type but this looks doable and they are a really nice gift. I want to try making some for next Christmas as well. It looks like each piece is either glued or pinned to a piece of felt? Do you happen to know how it's made exactly?

People living in the United States are increasingly finding that stores known for their secondhand goods have been hiking their prices in recent years. As thrifting continues to increase in popularity thanks to social media and TikTok, some shops use the extra attention as a way to increase their profits even more. Or, to put it bluntly, secondhand shopping isn’t so cheap anymore because some businesses got greedy.
Goodwill, in particular, with all of its charitable aspirations, has been called out time and time again on internet forums and in the media for jacking up its prices. Some folks wonder why they should even bother shopping there if mainstream realtors offer cheaper unused clothing.
Found This Sign At An Antique Store In Negaunee, Michigan. It’s Definitely Old, Heavy Brass, And I Have A Lot Of Questions. 😳😄
At least people will be forewarned. You could have a family contest to see who can come up with the best story on why this sign is put up. Think of the fun you could have telling people the story behind the sign.
After Giving Up On Getting A Christmas Tree I Found This At A Local Thrift Store And It’s Brand New! A True Christmas Miracle❤️ It’s My Son’s First Christmas (Where He Knows What Christmas Is) And He Points Out Every Christmas Tree He Sees. I Was At A Thrift Store With Only $50 In My Bank Account And This Was The Last Tree There. He And I Both Love It 🥰
The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum in Hartford CT holds a Holiday Festival of Trees every year. This past year (2023) there were three or four using this theme. They were sold between $250 - $800! You definitely lucked out!!!
After Work, I Went Into A Goodwill I Don't Normally Stop In. I Think I Went Because This Toymaker Was Calling Out To Me. I Picked Him Up And Looked Him Over In Awe. He Was Wrapped In Tape, Which I Was Confused By. I Mean, Obviously, I Was Going To Get Him Either Way Because Just Look At Him, But What Was His Purpose? Finally, On The Bottom, I Found A Handwritten Sticker That Explained He Is An Incense Burner. You Lift Him Up Off His Bench And Place A Cone Incense There And His Mouth/Pipe Will Smoke. There Is No Indication Of A Company Or Date This Amazing Object Was Made. I'm Not Sure If He Is Handmade And Unique Or What Era He Is From. All I Know Is This Is The Best $6 I've Spent In A Very Long Time. I Haven't Put An Incense In Him Yet. I Will Update When I Make Sure I Have Cones. Merry Christmas To Me. 💨
That must be the shortest title here on BP...? TL/DR.. edit: mostly because of the upper-case of every word, makes it hard to read.. just chill out and use lower-case 👍
it's a german Räuchermännchen https://blogs.transparent.com/german/german-christmas-4-questions-answered-about-german-rauchermannchen/
These Räuchermännchen are produced in a Part of Germany called Erzgebirge.
I’ve seen these in touristy German shops - I love them and have one, myself, but, unfortunately most of them are mass machine produced.
That's a German smoker. They are in the same "family" as the nutcracker and can go for alot of money. Very nice
It's German - I bought a couple from the Christmas market when I lived in Dresden in the mid 1990s. It's called a Rauchermann (Smoking Man). Proper ones are hand made though they are getting increasingly mass produced.

Saw This Beauty At America's Thrift Store In Marietta, Ga
We used to have one almost identical! I told my stepmom when she started redecorating that I wanted that antique sofa, but she forgot and gave it to a friend. I was heartbroken!
I'm so glad to see people loving Victorian and Edwardian furniture! This is a courting couch.
I Think I’ve Acquired My Best Thrift Yet From Our Local Town Page😭 I Am Now The Owner Of This Beautiful 1974 Firefly Hot Air Balloon Basket For Free😫😫😫 Edit: Since My Comment Is Buried Amongst Everyone Else’s I Figure I’d Update Here 😊 I Plan To Make A Reading Nook Out Of It And Eventually Make A Stained Glass Globe To Have Over The Top And Place A Light In The Dome. I Love To Hear All The Suggestions But We Have To Remember These Baskets Aren’t Made To Stay Out In The Elements Especially With Me Living In Wisconsin. ok this might officially be the weirdest thrift i've ever seen! and i hope they stick to their plan, sounds like it would make an awesome little spot to hide and read!
The name of the spray conditioner fails me now. It is specific for wicker. I have used it in the past with great results.
Completely Wonderful, Not Exactly Weird Except For The Circumstances. Found On The Side Of The Road In A Box Full Of Very Gross Kitchen Items. I Couldn’t Believe It, With The Lid And Everything!! I’ve Wanted A Zodiac Pyrex For A Long Time!! Wanted To Share My Happy Moment
I had no idea they made a zodiac pattern! Love this, I want some now!!
Okay, but you can't just tease me with a box of "really gross kitchen items" and leave me hanging here. I have questions, darn it.
The first (and last) time I ever inspected a random box on the side of the road it was filled with, (how to say this in a way that won't traumatize the comment section/cause BP censors to goose-step in my direction?) Um, It was filled with... puppies; puppies that, well, weren't... nah, there's no way to say this that isn't horrifying, so I'm just going to let y'all read between the lines. Needless to say, that's something you never forget and I give random boxes on the side of the road a wide berth these days.

Ahhh😍 Found At Goodwill😉
My Mom had a set exactly like that and I gave it to one of my sisters that actually cooks and will use them.
My MIL has the entire set - at least 25 pieces. I'm hoping she'll leave them for me.
My grandma has these and we have one that I believe we found at a thrift store or a free pile..
Just Found This Incredible Walnut Cupboard From The Late 1800s. It Was Used In A General Store To Sell Thread. I Spoke To The Woman Who Had Put It Out On The Curb, And Her Great Grandmother Had Made The Base That It’s Crookedly Sitting On. She Used To Use It To Store Her Children’s Artwork. Not Sure What I’ll Do With The Very Shallow Drawers, But I’m So Thrilled To Bring This Piece Into My Home
It may have never had legs. Cabinets like this often sat on countertops of dry goods stores. Such a delight!
Can't believe this was free and can't believe it's not higher up in the ranking. This is an AMAZING find!
She should probably track down if it has any value. That would be a countertop model. I have a taller floor standing model with glass windows in the front of most of the drawers. I knew it was old (late 1800s) but I was shocked when I got online and found the model I have was selling for an average of about $3,000 USD.

This is cool, but be sure the painting you're adding to hasn't been painted by a famous person 🙂
If the painting of Michigan J Frog on a thin sheet of plastic? And the grass a background painting? If so, I bet you might have a number of people interested in your find. Especially me and I live in Michigan. Thanks.

This Has To Be One Of My Favorite $1.00 Flea Market Finds! It’s Called A Sugar Plum Tree. It Was In The Original Box. So Fun For Christmas! All I Had To Add Was Gumdrops❤️ Pretty Sure It’s From The 60’s
Had one in the family. It could very well be much older, possibly 50's.
A gummy tree, as I live and breathe, who knew? Absolutely perfect for my adult gummies. Party at my house, pandas!
With all the good additives that was still used in plastic in the 60's? Have no source, just my thoughts..

Cardinal is my universities mascot. I'm constantly seeing them when I go outside my house. P.S.- when my school sends out student government emails they always include the 🐦 because there isn't a cardinal emoji. Haha 😆
The Cardinal was the first bird I saw up close in the USA. Never seen a bird like that I thought I discovered a new species lol. My dad made me a Cardinal whirligig.

I Squealed When I Found It, Knew It Was Special Immediately! Found In A Southern Ontario Goodwill!!!
You would be amazed at the number of people who don’t know the value of things. They think if it’s old, it’s worthless trash (when, in most cases, the new stuff they’re so eager to replace it with is the actual trash). Fine by me, because then I can pick it up for a song at the thrift store, or for free from the curbside, then take it home and love and greatly appreciate it.

I have one of those. My grandmother was big on bluebirds. My kids try to play with it all the time.

Thank You All So So Much! It Has A Few Knicks And Imperfections But I Love It And Am So Happy That Others Do Too 🥰 Kitty’s Name Is Khaleesi And She Wasted No Time Claiming The Vanity For Her Own. I Don't Know What It Is With Me And Fripperous Things That Need To Be De-Fripped. I Almost Walked Right On By This Jewel-Daubed Monstrosity At Goodwill In Waukesha Wi A Few Days Ago, Then I Realized The Hot Glue Crusted Pearls Were Hiding A Solid Brass Mirror. Eunice Marshmallow Needs Another Remove Surface In Which To Admire Her Snowy Toasted Visage, So I Spent Some Time Removing The Frippery, Flimflam, And Foolishness. Add In A Brass Candelabra (Also From Goodwill) And We're Just About Halfway To A Meatloaf Music Video. At Last , I've Done Something To Gain The Cat's Approval
Because some people just can’t resist the opportunity to just c**p up something that’s perfectly fine all by itself. They’re the same people who also delude themselves into thinking they’re very artistically talented. Never ever exchange gifts with them, unless you need to collect donations for a thrift shop, nd you’re short an item or two.

Found This Condiment Set At A Local Estate Sale For 1.00!!!! My Mother Had A Set Of The Drinking Glasses That We Only Got To Use On Special Occasions. I Had No Idea That A Condiment Set Like This Existed!!
A lot of families had a set of this pattern at one time. My MIL gave me her old highball glasses that match these. I was watching the series "Madmen" and noticed that the lead characters were drinking out of the same glasses. They're just so pretty and elegant.
A wash of nostalgia and memories from this pattern! My parents had a full set of these.

I just had a conversation with my husband about this very same item! We had them up for Christmas every year while I was growing up. I can still hear the tinkling of the bells… such a happy sound 🎼
An “engelsleught” — angels light, it said on the box, the only German I knew as a child.
I Have Four White Ones Not In The Photos. I Had To Limit Myself To Three Photos! Lol. Hi, I'm Crystal, And I Am Obsessed With And Collect Vintage Lotus Lamps! I'll Have To Get Photos Of My White Ones. Since They're All Antique, They're All Thrifted! Facebook Marketplace, Estate Sales, And My Wife Even Gifted Me One For My Anniversary. I Found This Poor Little Fella Leaned Up Against A Dumpster The Other Day With His Foot Broken On The Ground. My Guilty Conscious Made Me Turn Around And Go Back For Him. I Brought Him Home, Scrubbed Him Head To Toe, Repainted Him, Added A Sealant, And Gave Him A New Lease On Life
About One Year Ago, I Was At A Customers Home Repairing Some Equipment And As I Was About To Leave ,the Customer Asked Me If I Could Help Him Load A Box Into His Car So He Could Take It To Goodwill? I Had To Move The Lid So We Could Pick It Up Because It Weighs Approximately 80 Pounds And It Is Pretty Big, Then He Said Unless You Want It? He Said If You’re Interested, You Can Have It And That Will Save Me A Trip To Goodwill. He Then Told Me He Has Made Several Trips To Goodwill To Drop A Lot Of Other Things That Has Been In Their Storage Since They Were Married, Which Was More Than 50 Years .this Is About 28 Inches Tall, Maybe 2 Feet Long It Is Made Of Bronze, And The Arms Face And Legs Are Made Of Ivory. All I Can Find Out Is It Was Made By A Romanian Sculptor . It Is Signed, But I Will Have To Get It Out Of The Crate Tomorrow It Was Actually Stored In A Heavy Duty Wooden Moving Crate. I Paid Nothing For It. I Would Just Like To Know More About It. I Have Had It For A Little Over A Year.

My Find For Today😁 Brought This Find Up To The Cashier And She Asked Me If It Was Ceramic And I Said No It's Much Heavier, I Think It's Something Else, She Asked Me To Look It Up And So We Did A Quick Search At The Register, And Found Out That It Was Italian Hand Carved Alabaster. I Purchased It At The Bargain Center. It Was $8 And I Had A $5 Off Coupon So I Purchased It For $3

I Found This Original Line Drawing Today At A Thrift Store In Dallas And Was Immediately Drawn To It! 😉 I'm Having Trouble Naming All The Celebrities But I Can Point Out Marilyn And Shirley Temple And Laurel And Hardy? Curious Who Else Is Featured!
This drawing needs appraised. This is a very talented artist.
Bing Crosby. Bob Hope. Jimmy Durante. WC Fields? Edward G Robinson?
Laurel and Hardy (top left), Bing Crosby (behind the guy holding the glass up), and Oscar Levant (just below Hardy on the left). Bob Hope in profile (to right of guy holding glass.) It looks like the artist who did portraits that hung in a famous Hollywood restaurant. Can't think of the name.
Sardi's is a restaurant in the Theater District in NYC. (open since 1921) The story goes that Sardi Sr. hired Alex Gard to draw caricatures of the famous theatre folk who patronized his establishment in exchange for one free meal a day. After Gard’s death in 1948, he was succeeded by Tom Mackey, Don Bevan and Richard Baratz. (I dragged my husband there when we were in NY.)

I thought so too until I blew it up more. Hirschfeld line work was much better. Shirley Temple would look actually like her not a doll.

Think you can use those to make rag rugs. You need a strip about 4-5" long and push through the canvas and knot. It's easier to cut a piece of old fabric into strips and make balls of them than to cut each bit separately.
Bat them under the sofa, of course. *demonstrates*

I Purchased This Pair Of Unmarked Pink Lamps At A Garage Sale In Champaign, Illinois. They Measure Approx. 27" In Over-All Height And I Would Guesstimate Them To Be Mid Century Lamps. They Have Plaster Chalkware Type Bases With Fiberglass Shades. When I First Saw Them, My Initial Thought Was They Were Cheap And Ugly Enough That I Could Probably Flip Them For A Nice Profit. Now, After Having Them Around The House For A Bit, I Have To Admit That They Are Kind Of Growing On Me, Lol I Think It's The Shades 🤫🤐😂
MCM Mid Century Modern chalkware lamps with two-tiered atomic shades. Label on the bottom of another matching pair says 'Genuine Leslie China'. (I think this must have been the retailer since the design was by MCM) Size: 27" H x 18" W x 18" D
Except for the bases being pink, we had almost these exact same lamps when I was little. OMG.

Okay So I’ll Share This Clown Picture I Was Just Reminded Of. In The Late 70s My Mom Got This Picture From Sears And Hung In My Baby Brothers First Room After Being A Nursery… So 3ish. He Would Sneak Into My Bedroom All The Time And We Never Knew Why Until He Was Much Older And Told Us. I Pulled It From My Parents Attic In 2007 And Have Had It Ever Since. I Occasionally Send Him Clown Pics To Freak Him Out. Including Earlier Today When Someone Posted That Weird Clown Chair. Hahaha I Found The Pic And Sharing Now. Now What 3 Year Old Wouldn’t Love This Hanging At The Foot Of Their Bed!!! It’s Currently In My Basement… Hence The Waste Pipe!
