Through a series of weird circumstances I had never met my best friend’s older sister’s best friend despite me also being very close to the sister and being at their house all the time. we finally met one night and we were all sitting around the kitchen table talking. she and I are both major cat people and we were talking about our past and current cats. I told her the crazy and horrible story of how my cat had been missing since the night of my senior prom (3 weeks prior). he was 13 and I was devastated. I showed her a picture of him and she said something along the lines of “I don’t want to get your hopes up but he looks a lot like this cat my dad started feeding in our backyard about 3 weeks ago. he didn’t have a collar so my dad thought he was a stray but he is pretty chonky.” it was like 11pm but my friend and I immediately jumped into my car and drove over to the girl’s house. as soon as I got out of the car and yelled his name he came running. he was missing a tooth from a previous adventure so I pried his mouth open to be 100% sure it was him. the friend lived about 3 miles from me. after we worked out what had happened and how huge of a coincidence it was, my mind was completely blown. the stars aligned so perfectly for me to get my baby boy back. I still get goosebumps when I think about it.
My room mates cat was always in heat and disappearing. One tine she didnt come home for weeks, and my roommate would talk about it too everybody. Having lunch with her Sister a few weeks after Lille Pus' disapearense it came up that the had taken in a Stray female cat at the prison she worked, that sounded very much like her. Lille pus had wondered more than 5 km and crossed seveal buissy streets, including some highways, to end up at her "aunts" workplace. It was not popular to pry the cat away from the female inmates, but since she wasnt really allowed anyway, it was best for her to come home.
The cat wouldn't always be in heat and disappearing if your room mate would get her spayed. Your room mate also wouldn't be, through her negligence, contributing to pet overpopulation which results in millions of unwanted animals being euthanized each year. She's an irresponsible pet owner that does not deserve to own a pet.

"Through a series of weird circumstances I had never met my best friend’s older sister’s best friend" You say that like its normal to know your uncles step-brothers husbands gardener.
My dad lives in a national park here in Australia. It's farmland that's grandfathered in. It's the remnants of a volcano that blew itself up very violently, so it's very hilly terrain.
One day we were sitting out on the deck, when we see a hang-glider come down halfway down the valley, and it didn't look like a nice landing. "S**t, we better see if he's alright, they don't land anywhere near here"
So we get in the car, drive for about 10 minutes to reach the spot. We head over to the guy who is standing by a very damaged glider. The pilot is staring at us incredulously, he stammers "F**k, Jack, is that you?".
My dad, who hasn't seen his childhood friend for 35 years shouts "F**k, Tim, is that you?".
They both grew up in Greymouth, NZ. Found each other randomly after a glider crash in NSW, Australia.
What's most surprising to me is that they could still recognize each other.
We were at the start of a European coach tour in France. Introducing ourselves I overheard a man say where he lived. Turned out he lived 5 houses from us in the same street in Auckland, New Zealand. We had never met before. A woman then said she lived near us. She lived next door to the house we rented while building the house along from the man.
We had moved to FL in the 50's and about 6 yrs later, a car stopped by on our street and asked for directions from my dad who was working in the yard, and it was our neighbor/friend from PA who was in FL visiting - total coincidence.
Not me, but a story I heard.
The guy telling the story was from the UK and on holiday in Greece. He went for a walk and passed a public phone, which started ringing. On a whim, he answers the phone... and it's his bank, calling him about some unusual activity on his account.
The bank starts asking him questions, but he's still taken aback by how his bank knew his location (this was in the early 90s), and asks them how they got this number. The bank tells him that it's the number they have on file. He tells them that can't be right, because he's in Greece, and this is a public phone box.
OK, so the bank tries to work out what happened. And then they realise. INSTEAD OF DIALLING HIS PHONE NUMBER, THEY ACCIDENTALLY DIALLED HIS ACCOUNT NUMBER... WHICH JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE EXACT NUMBER OF THIS PHONE BOX IN ANOTHER COUNTRY THAT HE ALSO JUST HAPPENED TO BE WALKING PAST AT THE EXACT SAME TIME THAT THEY CALLED.
What are the odds of that happening? Like 3 to 1 at least.
Didn't happen. BTW, if a bank tells you there's some dodgy activity on your account and you need to move your money - DON'T. It is *always* a scam to rob you.
Yeah, naah. UK bank account numbers have never started with 00, which would be needed to dial internationally from there, and have only 8 digits, not enough for an international call. Nor is it possible in the BIC or IBAN format.
mine does begin with 00, 20 year old account. it might be possible, greece has a 2 digit country code, some area codes (like dublin) are 2 digit, which was 01, but you did not dial the 0. so 00301, gets you into the area, a 3 digit number is possible in some areas, particularly older lines, as a public phone box would be, my mothers was 4 digit in rural Ireland. This is not as impossible as it seems.

The most popular subreddit for questions and the second most popular of all is r/AskReddit. Currently, it has 49M members and this number doesn’t even account for people who visit and don’t join. Plenty of people ask questions on this subreddit daily, and while some don’t get that much attention, others pretty much go viral.
Today we’re going to discuss one of these viral questions. It was asked on the platform some time ago by a user whose account is sadly suspended. Still, the question gathered quite a lot of attention – over 8K likes and over 2.5K responses.
This guy I went to grade school and high school with, an acquaintance at best. I've seen him in 5 different locations in different countries throughout the last 15 years.
Disney World when I was a kid.
Some beach bar in Thailand.
The Bean in Chicago.
A pub in Budapest.
A library in San Jose, Costa Rica.
We've become friends due our love of traveling, but neither of us post on social media and neither of us communicated with each other our plans to travel. We never talked outside of the random meetings. Now if I see him, its like the world wants us to have a beer together. haha.
I passed out after receiving a flu shot when I was 28. The nurse who helped me up kept asking if I wanted my mom. It seemed like a really weird thing to offer an adult woman - the option to have her mother phoned and brought in - so I was really confused and getting progressively more annoyed at her repeatedly asking...
...until my mom walked up to me. She had the appointment after mine to get vaccinated. The nurses assumed we had come together, but neither of us knew about the other's appointment, and we lived an hour away from each other in different cities.
Reminds me of when I was pregnant with my 2nd and very dizzy and sick for days. Id been to the walk in clinic on a Friday night who dismissed my concerns after 4 days of symptoms. Called my GP Monday morning for an emergency appointment as I was dehydrated and hallucinating and they said to come straight in and they'd try to see me between patients. No sooner had I sat in the waiting room a voice said your dad's on the way and you're going straight to hospital. It was a nurse who my mother used to babysit decades prior..she recognised me and my symptoms immediately and called the ambulance hospital and then my mum to let her know what was happening, she was watching my eldest so sent my dad. Nurse shelly took my obs and told me not to leave that hospital until they took it seriously. It was preeclampsia. She saved my life.
My friend and I were on a road trip a few years ago and needed a place to stay. We both told each other we had a friend in the city we were going through, so we figured we’d be able to crash with one of them. Turns out our two friends were roommates and had both been telling each other that they had a friend coming to town soon.
I have a friend that I do ren faires with. Twice we talked about a German restaurant and a kolache place not in either town we live in (we live separate cities) both times we were both talking about the same place neither of us knew the name of the places. Both of us always stopped by them when we were near.
Some of these answers were about coincidences people experienced themselves. For instance, meeting the same person over and over again, encountering the individual they were just talking about, and so on.
Others talked about the coincidence phenomena they’re fascinated with. Like the Jim twins – two boys who were adopted by different families and years later reunited. Coincidentally, up until their reunion, the men lived nearly identical lives, which led to them having almost identical brain waves and personalities.
The year JRR Tolkien died is the One Ring verse backwards.
1973.
3 rings for the elven kings.
7 for the dwarf lords.
9 for mortal men.
1 ring to rule them all.
I always thought this was bizarre lol.
I was playing hide and seek with my best friend at her house when a pipe burst in the basement. Her mom got the water turned off and went to call a plumber, but mistyped one digit and ended up calling my dad, who has the knowledge, skill and the tools for fixing and building just about everything. He came over and fixed it for free.
Dang- I thought you were going to say that they became a couple and got married, therefore making your friend your stepsister!!!
The Jim Twins. Look it up. Two twins who were given up for adoption at birth, given the same first name by their adoptive parents, took family vacations to the same beach, married women with the same name, divorced, their second wives' names were off by one letter, both served as volunteer sheriffs, both were into carpentry, both smoked the same brand cigarettes and drank the same brand beer.
Probably just part of the secret lizard people invasion and someone duplicated their skin suit/cover story.
didn't they both have a dog named toy or am I thinking of something else?
A couple dated, had similar tastes, lived together, wanted to get married. Had their blood tested. Came back they were twins given up for adoption as babies.
Anyone else think "drank the same brand beer" is a little bit grasping at straws? Unless it's a very tiny specific microbrewery, just include all the other *actually* amazing coincidences.
I think they also drove the same make, model and year of car and had the same profession.
Load More Replies...Another phenomenon mentioned in this list is related to J. R. R. Tolkien. He died in 1973. When you reverse this number, you get 3791, which coincides with the One Ring verse (3 rings for the elven kings, 7 for the dwarf lords, 9 for men, and 1 ring to rule them all) from one of his books. Quite peculiar, isn’t it?
Some quite famous coincidences weren’t even mentioned in this list. For example, the one about the writer Mark Twain and the comet. He was born on November 30, 1835, when Halley’s comet came the closest to Earth.
Likely because of this, the writer himself predicted that he would “go out with the comet” when it returned next, which ended up kind of happening. M. Twain died on April 21, 1910, a day after the same comet’s closest approach.
I dialed my mum on my mobile when I was on public transport and accidentally swapped two numbers around.
The person I called was on the same carriage.
Do people really dial regular numbers instead of just having them saved?
Us Boomers did. There was actually a gizmo called a rolodex That held all your information, along with personal likes, disliked, who's an a**hole. So, yes we had a lot of stuff that got antiquated fast by the coming of the computers.

My wife and I were looking to hire a caterer for our wedding and when we met, my wife and her started talking about their lives a bit.
Turns out they had both literally grown up on the same street, in a city of 10 million people, on the other side of the world. Both had left the city around a decade before immigrating to our current country.
They knew the same people, had hung out at the same coffee place, attended the same church. They even used to grab mangoes off the same large tree that hung over the wall of one of the large houses in the neighbourhood.
But they had never met one another until meeting on almost the exact opposite side of the planet, in a small town of about 50,000 people.
A lady just moved in to the condo next to my mother in New Jersey. They both grew up in the same remote village in Ireland and were classmates at the same boarding school. They hadn't seen each other since mum left Ireland in the 60s.
Reminds me of my taxi driver in Denmark. He moved there from Turkey, along with a good proportion of his class from school. As we're doing coincidences, he became my taxi driver after my boss liked his car and asked if we could book him directly the next time, which we did. I then booked him for all my subsequent trips. It was like having a friend come and meet me at the airport. Well he is a friend now, but you know what I mean.
Oooo. I got one for this! So my aunt, had a childhood best friend. Grew up on the same street in Rutherford NJ. Their mothers were friends, same church, same school. Inseparable for the first 18 years of their lives. After graduation, my aunts friend went to college in california, and they lost touch. My aunt gets married, has a kid, and moves an hour away from where she grew up. My aunt is 33 by this time, her daughter is about 5 years old playing outside in her front yard with her dad, there's a little girl and her dad playing across the street, the kids start playing together and also become inseparable, going back and forth from each others houses, parents not really interacting beyond waving from the doorway. So fast forward to when my cousin is 29 years old, she's just given birth to her daughter, she comes goes to visit her parents. Her childhood friend had just given birth to HER daughter a couple months before, and she's up visiting her parents....
and they want to meet my cousins daughter since she was like a second daughter to them. They go over to my aunts house, knock on the door.....and my aunt discovers that her daughter best friend, is the daughter of her best friend, and they've been living right across the street from each other for nearly 30 years without knowing it. It raises some questions about the parental involvement going on there, but still a fun little oddity.
Load More Replies...I had friends in university who had gone to the same high school, had never hung out together, (knew who each other was though) but were in completely different friend groups. When I met them it was always C and K (not going to write their full names for sake of anonymity) you never said one without the other, they were inseparable after their first year of university! They were complete opposites too! I assume they are still close, though they live in different cities. I only have one on my social media.
I met my doppelganger in Iraq. I wish I had the pictures. I'm white, grew up in Canada, moved to the U.S. and went to Iraq with The Marines. He lived in Al-Rutbah. His complexion, build, face structure, everything was IDENTICAL. It was so uncanny it disturbed his mother greatly.
Sure, out of 7 billion we all have look alikes but this one was so close we even had the same moles...

Well, the Reddit post said that these coincidences were supposed to make people question the fabric of reality. We don’t know whether these incidents or phenomena made anyone feel so extreme, but a peculiar feeling was almost guaranteed. For those who experienced them themselves, they were shaken enough to remember them for some time and then share them online.

Last week I am at work doing a job, my coworker strikes up a conversation with the homeowner at the job site and mentions that his parents live across the street from him, he also asks how long he had lived there. Homeowner responds that it has only been a few months, he just moved to the city from *small town several hours away*.
Co-worker laughs and says he was born and raised in that town. Then asks "Do you know the mini-plex at the corner of X street and Y street? I lived right across from that."
Homeowner looks confused, "do you mean at 103 X street? That was my house"
They talked more, and discovered that my coworkers parents had sold their house to this Homeowner when they moved to the city. He lived there for 15 years, and then sold it to move to the same city, across the street from the previous owners. Small world.
I was being oriented to a new job. My superior showed me how to clock in by punching in her own SSN. I noticed that the first 3 digits were the same as my mother's, and I asked where she was from. She told me the state, and I asked what town, She said "oh, you never heard of it".I said "Try me". Turned out she grew up in the same small town where both my parents and their parents were from.
At a club we joined, we met a woman, a widow. We had lived along from each other at 5 different addresses in 3 different cities (same streets). I said.. well we lived in PNG 1979 and 1980, so beat that. She said...so did we! We lived in Mount Hagen and they were in Port Moresby but at the same time. She now lives one street away from us in a 4th city.
Was working grocery store as a summer job while I finish up one of my remaining classes before I graduated college. Management was f*****g with my schedule and hours, didn’t respect the fact that I had class, and weren’t willing to work with me about cutting my hours down a little (working 20 instead of 25 hours a week). Was thinking about quitting and went to talk to my manager in her office where she said “I guess you will have to pick employment or your class, now go help up front.” Next customer came up line, didn’t know my manager and I just had this conversation, and said “you deserve more than this job. Tell them to f**k off.” So I turned off my light went back to manager and said “I pick my class. I quit.” Got that customers number now and tutor them with their classes, make more, and feel better.
I was house-sitting a friends home who lived on a river in a rural area. It was about 9:00 at night and very dark. I was pulling up to the house, my headlights aimed directly out at the river when I see a man walking towards me from the river, soaking wet.. The home has floodlights shining on me, my car lights were shining on him and the guy calls out my name! Ended up being an acquaintance whose boat had hit something and sank right in front of this house. I took him home otherwise he would have had a heck of a walk!
Customer probably sensed that there was something on the OPs mind, and had likely seen them come from the office, so put two and two together.
And thats why all my jobs thru college were evening/night/weekend/early am ... never worked a job during school hours.
My first year of university I had classes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Load More Replies...I lived in Wyoming, you know that s****y state state with around 600k people total. 2 of my friends and myself all joined the air force about a year apart from each other, and pretty much lost contact as we each departed. One was stationed in japan. One stationed in Hawaii. I was stationed in Georgia. One summer I took a month off to go home to Wyoming to see friends and family. My wife was kind of hungry so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings at like 10 at night. This is a lone Bdubs in a town of like 50k people at 10 pm in the middle of the week. I walk in and see one of my friends, the one stationed in Japan. So we sit and catch up. about the time our food order had arrived friend 2 walked in. Somehow all three of us ended up in the same job in the air force, decided to take vacation at the exact same time to go back to Wyoming and ended up at the same bdubs on the same night with no prior communication with each other.
Didn't your CO tell you Cheyenne is the crossroads of the universe? You should have e skipped Buffalo Wild Wings and gone to Wing Stop out by King Soopers.
When my friend and I were driving through Wyoming on the way to Deadwood, we saw a lone SEAGULL in a parking lot near Cheyenne. Crossroads of the universe indeed.
Load More Replies... Went on a night out, met a really cute girl and we hit it off. When she wrote her number in my phone, turned out I already had to saved. She also had mine.
We had no idea who each other were. Did we already get super drunk go on a date and forget?
This happened to me. I went to a friend's funeral. I got talking with his son and promised to send him something to read. I gave him my number. He punched it in and my name came up, which included my profession. We had never met and he doesn't know what I worked as and he most certainly did not have my number.
If you were on Facebook and had your phone number privacy set as "public" it used to add your phone number to their list of contacts if they choose to "link to Facebook" when setting up their new phone. This may not be true anymore but was maybe 10 years ago.

This isn't as crazy as other ones I read, but it's mine
We probably scared the s**t out of some poor old couple while on a road trip. We were going to my grandmother's, and we followed the SAME freaking car for over 4 hours, and eventually stopped at the same restaurant, and the same gas station, and only ever stopped when we pulled into my grandma's residential neighborhood.
Duel terrified me in the 1970s and again when I watched it recently.
Load More Replies...Friend of mine from uni used to deliberately follow people. He'd pick a car on the motorway going about the speed he wanted to go and then just follow them for mile after mile after mile, changing lanes when they did and back again. When the car turned off he'd pick another one. Would you be scared if a car full of 4 young lads followed you for 50 miles? Didn't really think about it then, but not the sort of thing you'd do these days.
We stopped at a store and my husband sat in the car to wait for me. Did my shopping, came out the store, hopped in the passenger seat and said "ok sweets let's go". Turned to see a complete stranger looking startled at me. Looked to the next car to see my husband in hysterics. The cars were identical models and 2 tone colours.
My wife and I adopted twins from foster care. We found out that they had 3 siblings that also been adopted. We were able to find and connect with 2. Spent at least 5 years looking for the other sibling. Moved to a new house and found out that the kid across the street was the sibling we had been searching for.
Unfortunately, he had been adopted by Jehovah's Witnesses who refused any contact with us because my wife and I are lesbians. We never told the kids who he was - they were too little. But at least we know who and where he is.
I have literally zero respect for JWs. They told my best high school friend that she couldn’t be friends with me anymore because I was too scary and “worldly” and I liked anime which was apparently too evil for them. They told her if she continued to be my friend, her family would disown her.
I had a similar experience. As far as I am concerned they are a full fledged cult

Another cult that fears their children will know more than they do. Might be smarter. Might begin to question things. Got to keep them isolated and under educated so they can control them,
A few years ago I was brushing my teeth thinking about how messed up designed obsolescence is. I had probably just watched a documentary about the pitfalls of capitalism or corporate personhood or something and thought to myself “good thing toothbrushes are pretty sturdy, yeah the bristles bend after a while but you can’t really work in an expiration date on something like this” when mid thought my toothbrush snaps clean in half. I’m left holding the handle in one hand and have the brush end sticking out of my mouth and I stare at my reflection in the mirror for a good 15 seconds completely baffled. “God, is that you?”.
That's like when I was driving somewhere with a friend and we were talking about his ADHD. He was trying to be funny, saying something like, "I am very seldom distracted - look, a squirrel!" when we were at a stop sign. But we both looked and a squirrel was running across the street. We were laughing so hard the car behind us had to honk twice before he could drive off.
He's telling you the capitalists are cutting the quality of even of toothbrushes while charging more, I had one break in the same way a few months ago, too - it had never happened to me before and I'm 73.5 years old.
I was crossing the street after leaving a store and had the strangest feeling I was going to break my ankle, so carefully avoided a vehicle coming my way. That evening I went to pick up Thai food, fell leaving the restaurant on less than a 4 inch step, and shattered my ankle to the point of needing surgery and after a year haven't fully healed.
Ankles suck when they get badly injured. But you have to face it, it won't ever be right again. And mine wasn't broken, just badly strained and sprained 44 years ago. Doctor said I would have been better off if I had broken it.
One time, me and my dad were discussing his friend while out driving at night without many other cars on the road. As we were talking, we pulled up to a red light, and the car waiting in front was my dad's friend. He didn't even live close to there.
Once I was telling jokes. I told 3 jokes about different types of people (from other country, with a disability, and a profession) and each time I was telling the joke a person with each description approached us. My friends just told to shut up and stop telling jokes
Our landline rings, and 9 times out of 10 I will say that's....ringing. I answer the phone and say....Hello and their name. Gets them every time!
On a trip from our town(pop 3000) in Michigan, to Florida, pulled into a rest area in S Georgia on I-75. Everyone went in and came out. The car next to us occupants also came out. Guy and wife we knew from our town.
My mum and I were heading out for a morning shopping trip so I was in the shower pretty early, around 7.15am or so. My grandpa had been ill with a cold - which could be concerning as he only had one lung - but was recuperating at home and had seemed perfectly fine when we spoke to him on the phone the previous day. Chipper, even. Yet out of *nowhere*, my brain suddenly went: "We're not going shopping, he's died". I have intrusive thoughts every so often so I just told myself to shut up and get on with the shampoo.
Five minutes later mum bangs on the door to tell me my grandpa had passed away in his sleep and we need to head over to his house.
I don't believe in psychics or precognition or anything like that, and I've never even thought of myself as a particularly perceptive person either. Like, I'm as dense as a brick most times. Which is why this still has me spooked fourteen years later.
I was no-contact with my parents. I had a dream that my dad was in the hospital with cancer. It was really vivid, and stuck with me the next day. Would I be upset if my dad died? I decided No. Too much water under that bridge for me to forgive him. The next day my brother called to tell me dad had cancer.
I rarely called my mother back then, but I picked up the phone and called her on the day she’d been admitted to the hospital with heart failure and had checked herself out AMA and was at home too scared to go back to the hospital. I called an ambulance to take her back to the hospital - she says she would have died at home if I hadn’t called her when I did. Not as good as my sister, who called her twin brother on a whim while he was in the middle of a suicide attempt. Saved his life.
It was the first day at my new job, when the phone rang. For some reason, my first thought was that my dad died. The supervisor approaches me and tells me that he is sorry, but you need to go home, your dad passed.
This happened to my mom and aunt. They were on a plane to rush up to see their father and the plan was delayed. They were both stressed until all of a sudden they looked at each other and said at the same time "he's gone" Sure enough they got to their father's house and their older sister told them that there dad passed away and it happened at the exact moment they were on the plane!
It is quite common for dying people to seemingly get better or, as OP said, be in a better mood, right before they die. It is called "Terminal Lucidity"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminal_lucidity The remarkable part about this story is being able to recognize it as what it is at a young age.
Load More Replies...For years my pin number was the radio frequency of an old rock station that no longer exists. I used that pin for like 10 years, then one night, watching Futurama. Fry says the pin for his debit card, the price of a slice of pepperoni and a large coke or something like that, 10.77.....MF just blurts out MY SPECIAL PIN NUMBER THAT ONLY I KNEW!! Had to change it after that. The station btw was 107.7 The End, an old alternative rock station out of Seattle.
It still exists, I just tried to listen live, but can't since I'm in Canada. >.<
Load More Replies...107.7 is still an alternative station in Seattle. Sort of alternative. The same handful of 2000s 'alternative' hits in rotation. Think Mr. Brightsides five times a day. Now, KEXP 90.3 on the other hand = probably best station in the world. Literally. Find them online.
Pretty sure The End is still around?? Unless it just went kaput in the last couple of months. But they started playing the worst popular music and 75% of their air time was commercials :p I stopped listening several years ago... But I did hear it on the radio in my boyfriend's car at least within the last couple months
"Cheese pizza and a large soda." I've watched that episode far too many times 😁
Discovered some years back that my father, mother, stepmom, both brothers, one sister, and I all use my other sister's birthday as our pins for EVERYTHING - phones, bank cards, garage door codes, house alarms, etc. (think 2282 [not the actual number]).
😆 As I got to the number my brain automatically filled in “107.7 The End!” I live in the UK, but I did spend a solid 3 months in Seattle back in 2005, and spent 2 years going back and forth to visit (long distance relationships, man…), and that was absolutely always the ratio station we listened to in the car 😎
Years ago our landline number was one digit different to a local hairdresser. After numerous wrong calls we were fed up and had our number changed. We were then one digit different to airport flight information and got many calls 24 hours a day.
I have a passcode for a particular account. It was given to me by the govt. It is the same as the last four digits of a phone number particular to me. I asked a friend who has the same account if she had the same type of pin, and she said no.
I had a dream that a friend of mine and I were living in a loft style apartment with exposed brick and told him about it at band practice. He enjoyed the term “exposed brick” and used it , metaphorically, in a song he was writing.
Fast Forward 7 years later, both of us living in separate areas than we grew up in all those years, multiple career changes for both, and by “coincidence” we both ended up back in the same (different than we grew up in) town.
A guy I went to college with showed me his apartment, of which he loved and had a vacancy in their building...but I needed a roommate to help foot the bill...you guessed it, that same guy I had the dream about was looking for a new place to rent...this place had exposed brick and was one of few in the area, at that time.
No, not really. I have, on several occasions, had dreams of places and people I didn't know. Months later, there I am. God?.. the great pumpkin?.. true future foretelling? idk, weird though.

When my older son was very young he’d talk about how he used to be “Burt Roberts” (last name changed to protect the innocent).
Burt had a twin brother named “Bern”. Burt’s wife was named Betty. Burt was from Idaho (location changed).
A lot of this was pretty obvious: my wife’s family is from Idaho. My wife’s name is Betty.
Later, for fun, I did a Google search.
There was a Burton Roberts from Boise, Idaho. He had a brother, Bernard (Bern). Burton was married to Betty. Burton died two weeks after my son was born; my son was born six weeks preterm.
Obviously just a coincidence, but man for a minute I was flabbergasted.
Lil dude provided a rock-solid proof of reincarnation and the OP is still like "Obviously just a coincidence ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
As a genealogist, I'm constantly amazed how many families there are out there with names that completely duplicate another family I'm researching. Never underestimate how many people are out there. Even the names I think are so unusual they're unlikely to turn up twice in the same generation...will turn up.
Load More Replies...There is no such thing as reincarnation. Look at it this way. We live in a quantum universe, where even on the macro scale, s**t happens. That's not "proof" of reincarnation. It's a coincidence.
There’s a cafe in DC that I frequent when I’m in town. Every time I’ve gone to that cafe I’ve run into someone from different points in my life, neither of the people I’ve met live in DC. This has happened four times. The fourth time I had a friend from elementary school, high school, college and post college all in the same cafe. The crazy thing is that the cafe is called compass, which I associate with finding things.

When my brother and I were little we went to my aunts Lakehouse for winter break. One of my aunts friends invited us over to dinner, it was my best friends family Who had family on the same lake and was vacationing at the same time.
When I was in year 7 I used to always giggle when a kids name got called over the loudspeaker to go to the office cause it was a name that sounded rude. I didn’t know this kid they were in a different year level to me never met them just remembered the name cause it was funny. Fast forward to now I’m in my 30’s with kids and it turns out that funny named kid is my daughters best friends Mum.
My daughter’s best friend’s parents turned out to be coworkers I’d had in a different city about 15 years prior. I’d trained one of them, and managed the rollout of a program designed by the other.
I knew someone who would heard a guy’s name called over the loudspeaker somewhere (don’t remember where, I feel like maybe working at a store) and the last name was a kind of rude name that people in England use (we were in Canada.) She thought, man if I married a guy with that name is definitely would keep my maiden name! Guess who married THAT guy (and kept her maiden name!)
About 15 years ago or so I was playing Counter-Strike 1.6 and tried joining a password protected server with a few people in it. I typed in "yellow" for the password and it worked. First try. I'll never forget that.
I once played poker with my then boyfriend, I needed four-of-a-kind to win as I was way behind. When he dealt the cards before turning them over I said 'please give me 4 ace'. I got four ace. Guess my boyfriend was surprised, and a bad loser too. He threw the cards in my face and walked out. 😂
You mean your ex.... right? That's toxic behavior.

Load More Replies... I watched a (4 number) lottery on TV when I was a child. After the first number coincided with my home's address, I quickly said the other three out loud before they were pulled, those other 3 numbers came up one after the other.
My home address WAS the lottery numbers. I turned off the TV and went to bed after that.
I was hanging out with 4 buddies, and looked at my phone and said “huh, my phones at 69% charge, nice”
The other 3 looked at their cell phones and also had 69% charge! It was the weirdest coincidence and we all started laughing.
(Buddy #4 was at 80% tho, he could not join in on the fun).
I much prefer '34 and a half with a promise' - you do me now and I'll do you later. hehe
This is why I refuse to acknowledge that I'll be 70 on my next birthday. I'm going to stay 69 because it makes me giggle 😂😂
Last week, I was driving my dog home from the vet. While turning onto my street, I noticed a woman sitting at the intersection while her collie sat in one place defiantly.
Twenty minutes after I got home, my mother asked if my dog should be having any kind of reaction to anything. I didn’t know, but after seeing my dog, I knew something was terribly wrong. I rushed her back to the vet where they stabilized her — she had gone into anaphylaxis as a result of a shot she received maybe half an hour earlier.
I called mom to tell her and she gasps, “We were out front earlier and a woman had to stop walking with her collie. She told us all about how her dog recently went into anaphylaxis.”.
My puppy went through that on her first set of shots in her lifetime! She almost didn't survive. It took a LOT to keep her alive. I'm SOOOO glad she made it!!
I was at the doctor a few years ago for a rudimentary blood test. I never normally care about that sir if thing but for whatever reason I felt a little queasy. I decided to get a snack from a nearby store but remembered then that I had forgotten my wallet rushing out the door earlier. I looked down and a gust of wind blew a 100kr (like 10 dollars?) Note out from under a car.
I had a friend that went shopping for a gift for her mom, and when she got to checkout, it turned out, she was like .25 cents short. so she begrudgingly left the line to return the item to the shelf, when all of a sudden a guy walking a few paces in front of he yanked his hand out of his pocket to wave to someone a few paces in front of him, and when he did, a *quarter* flew out of his pocket! lol He never even *knew* it and continued forward to his friend. my friend yoinked the quarter up and returned to the line to make her purchase. lol
Dreaming about someone i didn't see in years only to meet them by coïncidence a week later.
It makes total sen sense that this happens to some people. How many times in your life do you dream about someone you haven't seen in years, and how many times in your life do you meet someone you haven't seen for years? Both hundreds of times right? So the chance of there NEVER being a dream that is in the same week as meeting that person, is not that high. Multiply that by 8 billion people on earth, so you know there must be lots of people who have experienced this once or multiple times through their life.
I had two chargers by my bed. One was plugged in while the other wasn’t. I grab one and plug in my iPad, seeing the green battery so I knew it was charging. A moment later I look down and realize I plugged in the wrong one, and then the iPad stopped charging. It was the weirdest thing!
It's from the remaining charge in the charger - even unplugged it has some amount in it. I had a "travel charger" like that
Capacitors most likely - they can keep power for a while depending on capacitor size and whatnot after unplugged from a power source. Either that or Jobs was being a bit cheeky from beyond.

At the end of summer, we would pack all our stuff up in the truck and make the 350-mile drive back to home. One year while driving through the middle of the desert, we saw two guys hitchhiking. They had been riding their bikes on a long, multi-day trip and one of them had just gotten two flat tires. As we are driving past, my mother noticed that the guy with the flat tires was her younger brother. She had no idea he had been out on that trip & the chances of us driving by at the time he needed help on this very deserted road were very slim.
I was in the US Air Force and stationed at a base in Japan. One day I was walking somewhere on base and happened to run into a guy from my graduating class in my very small home town. That wasn't too surprising because at the time we graduated, the local economy was crashing and some people joined the military for the opportunities in it. The two of us were standing there chatting, and we starting talking about this other guy in our class who had been a total goofball who was always getting into trouble. I said “Oh yeah, I wonder whatever happened to him.” Right at the moment, we heard someone yell “Hey guys! What are you doing here?” We looked to the side and saw that guy walking toward us. That was when we found out what happened to him. He outranked both of us.
My daughter married the daughter of her dad's high school girlfriend. They hadn't seen each other in more than 39 years, after our kids got engaged. Crazy because we are from CO, son in law was raised in FL and they met in TX.
I was in my flat at Nursing school, all my life, when on my own, I have speech radio on in the background, blocks out noises from others in a building and I tend to zone in and out if something interesting comes on. I was lying on my bed reading 'My left Foot' When I gradually realised the words I was reading were being spoken out loud. 'My Left Foot' was being played on the radio as 'book of the week' and they reached exactly the same point that I had at exactly that moment.
In 2012 I moved away to live with my new boyfriend that lived 6 hours away from my region. I started working there and I was talking with the only coworker in the whole company (more than 200 people) I had to spend my days with. Turns out she was the sister of my aunt's neighbour. My aunt lives 6 hours away from there and she has only have 1 neighbour because she lives in a very rural street.
There's someone in my area (who I've never met) who has the exact same name as me. But that's not the crazy part (neither first name or surname is uncommon). The crazy part is that one night I got a call from a guy whose voice I didn't recognise but who knew my name. I asked who he was and he said "it's James!" and when I said "uh, who?" he seemed confused and said "it's your friend James!". I said I didn't have a friend called James. He at first acted like I was being silly for not recognising him, but we eventually figured out he was friends with the OTHER Beak Hookage. But that's STILL not the really crazy part. Because this was a call to a landline phone. At my parents' house, so the number was not listed under my name. My best guess (he hung up) is that he was calling every "Hookage" listed number in the phonebook in the hopes of tracking his friend Beak Hookage 2 down. Oh, and one other thing? Beak Hookage 2 also had a younger sister with the exact same name as my younger sister.
I should add that this was before everyone had a smartphone in their pocket and the internet wasn't that widely used either, so losing someone's number was pretty common.

I was on holiday from the UK, waiting in the queue for the Hulk Ride in Orlando when someone tapped me on the shoulder. Queuing just 2 people behind me was a colleague from work. He was touring the US and spending 2 days out of 4 weeks in Orlando. I knew he was touring, but had no idea that he would be in Orlando, let alone on that ride!
My kids were 7 (triplets). My divorce had just been finalized (sept) and it was the 3rd weekend of the month. The first weekend they went to stay with their dad. I was running an errand at the grocery, picking up prescription meds. And as i walked the cross walk to front of store i was hit with a strange compelling feeling. That my girls were having their ears pierced. I tried to talk myself out of it. My ex never mentioned ear piercing, wasnt from a culture that does it at a young age. And it was still the middle of the school day. I couldnt shake it. So i call, and i get my 7 year old son -- not in school -- dad took them out early to go to the mall. He was in car alone. Girls were in mall. 2 days later, ex drops both girls off rather uncerimoniously with a huge bottle of cleaning fluid and i'm responsible for cleaning their new piercings. Apparently his girlfriend decided my daughters ears needed to be pierced right then. Against their will. I planned to wait do it at 12yrs.
My coincidence is the number 208. Every apartment I have ever lived in and most hotel rooms I have stayed in have been 208. I did not choose those places - they were just the ones available. My phone number, which I also did not choose, ends in 208. My flight numbers when travelling always have 208 in them , and I adopted a cat that had an ID tattoo #208. I could go on and on - yes, there's more. Wonder what that means?
