Owls are absolutely stunning creatures – their deep and piercing eyes and haunting hoots are the stuff of myths and folktales. Perhaps that's why we love these beautiful owl photos so much!
Since ancient times, owls have captured the imaginations of various cultures as harbingers of death, doom, bad omens, or wisdom.
For rodents, some of these portents are true – owls are excellent and highly adapted hunters with excellent hearing, sharp night-time vision, silent wings and deadly talons. They rarely miss their mark.
If you have any beautiful owl photos, we'd love it if you added them to this list and voted for your favorites as well!

Cataracts have caused him to be blind but have absolutely the most spectacular eyes of any animal
I love this photo. I just hope the owl isn't trapped in a closed building......
I would not have seen him in the woods. Incredible camouflage

I think remote camera with motion-triggered flash. I just hope it didn't blind the poor owl!

He looks like a baseball pitcher getting ready to throw the pitch. (The only problem is his back leg is up instead of the front.)
It's defending reaction. I guess they see something bigger than them so they "deflated" to seem smaller.

This is an absolutely stunning photo of an owl atop the snow. Magnificent.
I wish I knew how the points were made for the photos. Some way down on the list of points were very, very good. Should have had higher points. Loved the photographs. Just wondered how the points were collected
What beautiful creatures. I would feel so fortunate to have captured any one of those magnificent pictures. Well done.
The guidance councilor at my school had an owl poster on her wall, I asked her which kind she said idk and I rattled off about ten species.
