I never had a Tamagotchi but I did have a nano, it was lime green and featured a cat.

I changed the time on mine because it always woke up at like 4am so I pretty much rigged it to where it didn't wake up till almost 10...then it died and I had to start all over

My husband, when he was a child, enjoyed making the poor virtual animal die in the most cruel ways, not feeding him, ceasing to cuddle, ceasing to clean it. it was a unique cruelty with that poor little dog. but I forgot it around, maybe at school or friends. much better my real cats who take me to head if I do not feed him.

I had a bet with a friend that she would quit smoking for as long as I could keep my pet alive. It lasted a really long time... like three months? When it finally died I didn't tell her for a few days until she asked about it. Turned out she'd also started smoking again a few days back without telling me. Ah well. I'm pretty sure she did eventually kick the habit.
