Wait isn't this the hot water uh challenge that people did in which hot water became frozen when you threw it in freezing temperatures? And some people ended up in the hospital..

Long ago, we shared our house with an artist friend of ours. No normal snowman for her - she handcrafted a life-sized, incredibly detailed female elven snow angel. I am still kicking myself for not getting pictures of it. I should check with the other folks and see if any of them managed to get any.

"Washing" is quite an overstatement. The Mekong is among the most polluted rivers in the world. Apart from chemical pollution, the river is also one of the strongest contributors to plastic pollution of the ocean with an estimated contribution of over 40.000 tons of plastic per year. During most of its route through China, Cambodia, and Vietnam the river is used as an open air garbage dump and sewer, with wastewater from industries, pig farms and urban sewers water being dumped into the river without any treatment. The water at the delta has extremely high concentration of cadmium, lead, mercury and arsenic and the extreme eutrophication is killing off the fisheries in large swats of the river.

I think the photographer ran up real quick and punched the previously sleeping cat in the face and then stood back real quick and took the pic. There are people out there that love punching cats in there face and then taking pics of the then abused cat. The photographer should go to jail for this assault. Some people kids huh?

How is 1981 "the old days?" I swear I was 16 years old yesterday in1984. Who is this mature woman I see in the mirror? She has a few wrinkles, a few gray hairs, her body isn't slender like it was in the 1980s. She's familiar, but not how I see myself at all. I miss me.

I was gonna say probably looks nearly the same now, apart from the clothes. But I actually managed to find the spot and well there is a Starbucks and a McDonald's. .. but as soon as you pan up (you can see the window where she was lying) it got that timeless feel again. So it is mainly the ground level that is modern. I could half make out the street sign (starts with lange, then a long word and with the options given by maps only one fit, and as soon as I knew the word I could read /make out the entire sign), then I scrolled through the street. anyway without further ado. Dropped pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/E7r92cx1BdFLG7bf8 the street view of this exact spot, turn to face southwest to get the same view as her

Found the actual exact spot! Turns out I have been there. Below the apartment is an McDonald's now. I could make out part of the sign and in maps only one option starting "lange" made sense lengthwise and then I could actually make out the sign. Then used street view and checked the intersections and within 3 minutes of looking at this picture I found the spot! (The disinvestment building in the background helped pinpointing it). Turn facing southwest to get nearly the same as her (but on ground lvl) and turn around and pan up to see the protrubding) windowsill she was lying in. Dropped pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/E7r92cx1BdFLG7bf8 Pretty awesome to have found the same spot, even more so that I have been there!

For those that just want to know the street name and not go to maps. It is "Lange Leidsedwarsstraat" in the picture I believe it has got the old spelling Leidsche instead of Leidse.

I think one of the highlights of old street photos I love that gets overlooked is the lack of any garbage, leaving naturally clean lines and unobstructed imagery.

And creepy. Not the girls themselves, but them being asked to stand like that, they clearly don't feel comfortable.

I had a Vespa 150 at the same age in 1976. My brother used it one day and didn't lock the steering and it got stolen.
