We all would like to know what kind of people celebrities are in real life. Are some of them really that over the top in every aspect of their lives? And are others as down to earth as they seem on TV or on social media? Probably the worst-case scenario is when you realize that the celebrities you looked up to turned out to be not as nice or even really rude or snobby.
There are certainly stories of unpleasant encounters with well-known people. However, there are many stories of heartwarming encounters too. Twitter user @therecordon was interested to know who was the nicest celebrity people have ever met.

It is so nice to know that many big celebrities whose names are known all over the world have still managed to remain just good human beings. From these stories, we see that they have not been corrupted by the amounts of money they've earned and the permanent spotlight has not made them think that they are better than others. Or it’s just that they were like that all along, if you look from the point of view that money makes good people even better and bad people worse.
Yeah. There was a thread on Twitter about nice celebs and the general consensus was he was the nicest. And then he commented on all the stories asking questions about how they were doing. Class act! His Twitter is super wholesome.

Im from the UK (I grew up with syndicated 'Happy Days' on UK TV late 70's early 80's) and I vaguely remember an interview he gave (in the 90's?) which was concerned about some charity work he was doing. Can't remember the exact details, but I thought 'what a generous, kind and thoughtful man'.
Back in 1977 or so, a friend's mom knew the location of the house used for Happy Days exterior shots. We went to see them filming exterior shots for an episode. We got pictures and autographs of the cast, but only Henry Winkler took a photo WITH us, dressed as Fonzie, obviously. A good guy and everything I've heard about him since then supports that.

Whether we like to admit it or not, famous people live different lives than ours and we don’t really know what it's like to always be observed, talked about, to have such a huge amount of people admiring them. Fame and money can get to one’s head, make them think that they deserve it more than others do, and that someone that doesn’t reach their status isn’t worth their time. At least that’s the stereotype.
But the celebrities on this list seem like cool people. Looks like they’re not taking their fame for granted and appreciate their fans for the support. Some people shared that the famous people they’ve met had a long working day, but still agreed to a photo, while others shared how polite and chatty some celebrities were, making them feel like they were talking with a friend.
I imagine having a conversation with him would be like trying to play improvisational jazz with an instrument you just learned.
He was once a New York Firefighter and retired in the 1990's. On 9/11 he showed up at his old firehouse and went down with them to ground zero and helped people. He had no insurance for this like the firefighters did if anything had happened to him, he had not been active for a several years at that point, and took those risks to help others, and serve with his old firehouse. Till today he raises money for 9/11 workers and has admitted to having health problems from being at ground zero, but is proud of what he did and says he would do it again. The best part of this story, he never told anyone, a NY Post photographer was snapping pics of firefighters that day and realized he had Buscemi in one of them and the NY Post made the pic famous.

One of the times i met a celebrity is Billy joel i was out in a bar somewhere in california and my friends and i were drinking and next thing that happened was a stranger unbekest to know that it was billy joel we were drunk so my friend asked him if he played the piano we didn't know it was him until later when the bartender said that was billy joel and billy joel PLayed the song PIANO MAN while we were drinking
Adam West. He was signing autographs at a convention, and the line was suuuuuper slow. Turned out that was because he was taking the time to chat with each and every fan who came to see him. His agent (who was a bit of a jerk, sad to say) was insisting that Adam would only sign your flimsy plastic con bag, or a photo purchased at the booth. I said I didn't have money for a photo, having spent it all at the art auction, and while the agent continued to insist that it was the bag, the photo, or nothing, Adam reached over, gently took the Batman video I'd brought & signed it. He also wanted to see every art piece I had bought. He was only scheduled to sign autographs on Saturday from 10a to 11a. He stayed & signed literally the entire day, then came back on Sunday and did it again.
I once met Lindsay Littleson. She’s not very well known, but she writes books for people about 11. She came to my school to give a presentation, and signed books at the end. She was super polite to everyone signing them, and it was just awesome. She was one of my favourite authors, and still it.
I met Christopher Reeve once when he was promoting a Superman film in the UK. A true gentleman.
Sat at a picnic table with Alex Trebeck while waiting for a ferry from an island in Maine where my mom lives. Super nice. Same island when I was 11 or so, I sat next to Jackie Onassis in the local ice cream shop, and she was very nice. When I live in NYC, my buddy and I would meet at this little dive bar on 3rd, just below Washington Square every Thursday afternoon. We'd sit at the corner of the bar and chat with the regulars. One day there were a couple of guys we didn't recognize, and we just struck up a conversation and talked for more than an hour. One of them looked kind of familiar - and this was before he was SUPER famous - but it turned out to be George Clooney. Really nice guy.
My niece was part of a children's choir singing at a big Kentucky derby party. They were outside all afternoon singing as guests arrived in what was an unusually hot derby. Kid Rock came out of the mansion with a plate of sandwiches and water for the kids, and just sat down with them as they ate. They had no idea who he was, but I did. Nothing to do with being a celebrity. Just a good person
Ernie Hudson. He was so gracious and kind. We talked about acting, about his grandkids, and life in general. Just an all-around kind, friendly person.
Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17 is hands down one of the most down-to-earth people I've ever encountered on social media. Every time I met Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran he's been nothing but sweetness and light, and his ex-wife Julieanne has always been renowned for being kind to the fans (and I had a couple of truly sweet exchanges with her via private message); their daughter Tatjana must be one of the sweetest people on this planet. Warren Cuccurullo (formerly of Missing Persons and Duran Duran) is also a sweetheart, and I had a phone conversation once with John Taylor that lasted about three minutes where he was sooooo kind.
Met Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Michael Rooker and Tony Todd all at pop culture conventions. Gave Alan a 3D printed model of the Serenity from Firefly and he was really stoked, then got a pic taken thanks to my sister taking me along . Shook Adam’s hand when getting an autograph and got asked how I was because I was so nervous and he was super cool about it. Pic taken with Michael Rooker thanks to a friend taking me with them, and did an “air handshake” with Tony while he was outside having a break. He saw me grinning like a maniac when I saw him and said hi. Best guys ever
I had the privilege of meeting former President Ford at my friends restaurant. He was so nice. He didn't want to talk about himself at all. He wanted to know about me and what I did and my family.

Met Terry Hatcher when her daughter was a baby. She was doing Cabaret in Boston and was walking down the street at the Cape. My husband & I were walking towards her. I know she knew we recognized her but all I did was ask about her beautiful baby. She was with her then husband and mother. They all just lit up!. So happy to have the focus on her little beauty,. Could not have been sweeter.
David McCallum! went to see him in a small theater (Agatha Christie, The Mousetrap) in the round where i worked, went up and asked for his autograph afterword. security wouldn't let me in (running very late?) but they asked him for me, he sent out a program, autographed to me, and a mustache drawn on his pic! he said the 'stache was because they wouldn't let him out to speak with me. sweet!
I didn't meet, but I was a new driver on my way to work and at the red light, I see someone familiar in the passenger seat in the car next to me, then I realise it was Alan Rickman! He mouthed: yes, you are right!!!
Met Joanie Mitchell on my wedding night in a dive bar on South Street in Philadelphia. She was going to the ladies room and my husband recognized her and called her Miss Mitchell. She came to our table and chatted for a moment, congratulated us on our nuptials and was off. She was doing a small show somewhere near.

I have a very charming and funny niece. She was sitting at a bar in the local gambling establishment. A scraggly man came to the bar and sit a couple of seats down. They started talking and laughing. He said he was a plumber down in Nashville. He showed her a picture of him fixing Garth Brooks sink. He had several pictures of him with other Country Stars. He said that he was kind of the plumber to the Stars in He was visiting family in the area. He got up and left after a couple of hours of them talking. The bartender said that guy comes in quite a bit and never talks to anyone and his name is Chris Stapleton!
I met both Karla Crome while she was filming Under the Dome in our town. She was buying pastries from Whole Foods. I asked her if she was looking for Vegan options. When she said yes, I gave her the locations of two local bakeries in town that specialized in vegan baked goods. She was the sweetest person. We got a picture together and I told her I looked forward to watching her character in next weeks episode. She smiled, said thanks. Then to my horror, the next week..her character was killed off the show.
Once my entire 5th grade class did a zoom call with Melissa D Savage. She was kind and answered all of our questions.
