"Little Kids and Their Big Dogs" is a heartwarming photography project by Andy Seliverstoff that focuses on the unbreakable bond between little children and their supersized dogs. The photographer, 58, spent four months taking thousands of pictures in St Petersburg before compiling a book from the hundred best images. Andy has been a photographer for years but he's only recently started to take it seriously. He has a particular fondness for dogs, Great Danes especially, although his canine subjects also include Briads, Newfoundlands, and Black Russian Terriers.
"I always take plenty of time with the dog who's in front of my camera so I get to know the personality of my dog model the best I can," write the photographer on his website. "The personality and the character is unique for every individual dog. The human aspects we often recognize in our dogs are, among other things, what makes us feel so close to them. And it is this aspect I try to express in my photography." You can pre-order the book here.

I'm sure they don't let the kid just "ride the dog" all the time.. my guess is it was done for the photo shoot. Lighten up genius!
bobby , ...tu pensi che papa' e mamma mi vorranno sempre bene anche quando saro ' grande ????......ma certo ! che domande che mi fai ! anche io te ne vorro' sempre fino a che avro ' vita !!!
...And then, the little boy found his way home thanks to his faithful friend...
...so remember if you see a girl in a red hoodie, do not associate at all with her! Or her grandmother!! Nothing but trouble...
Given how big these dogs are compared to the kids, they look like their guardians rather than pets. ♥
A year before I was born my parents got a bloodhound. I was growing up with her and she was like a guardian, friend and family member. Now I cannot imagine childhood without animals, really.
Load More Replies...I wish I had grown up with animals. It looks utterly idyllic. I would have felt so much more protected. I will be never tired of these pics.
I think you should become Bored Panda's Chief Quality Officer. Your one-word "Great!" posting has become a kind of quality signet.
Load More Replies...Ok, these pics are really lovely but I'm going to step on the soap box and say it: DOGS DON'T LIKE HUGS! They put up with it, because they've learned we mean it nicely, but if you really love your pooch stop squeezing its shoulderblades. Peace!
And you know this how? My dog loves hugs. He comes to me lays his head on my shoulder and his muzzle against my next and presses his full body weight against me, until I give him a light squeeze. Then he relaxes his bidy and gies off on his merry way.
Load More Replies...Beautiful photos capturing all the delight and joy of children and dogs..
Marcela, I guess it's because we are not all as smart as you. I have a new tablet and have not figured it all out yet. Just got it last night
My one year old English mastiff out weighs me by almost 100 lbs. I am 140 and he is 230. He is massive. My 9 yr old daughter is very short for her age but has complete control with Thunder. He is the sweetest thing ever but he woukd protect us in a heart beat if needed.
These are so adorable and amazing. It reminds me of my one sister using out weimaraner to get on couches as a toddler amd my youngest sister around our three great danes. ♡♡♡
So sweet, but please remember, you need to supervise small children and animals.
These photos are ae least half-staged...no problem here thus.
Load More Replies...Yes but then they grow up and stop drooling, regurgitating and pissing/s******g their diapers ;-)
