Homophobia is still well and alive amongst our society. Why it shouldn't be there are just too many reasons, which we are not going to explore this time. And while the internet can provide a platform to connect us, educate us, and mobilize us, it can also give people the opportunity to spread hateful views. Currently, there are 26 countries around the world that legally recognize same-sex marriage, and not everyone is happy about LGBT becoming a norm.
All across Twitter, Facebook, and even in text messages to family members, people have taken it upon themselves to profess their homophobic views. You can clearly see from these hateful texts, that broader vision and education is what these people need. Well, you can fight fire with fire, or you can take another route. My 5th grade gifted teacher is gay. I didn't know this then. I always remembered him (one of those favorite teachers) and what he taught me. Figured it was because I was a bright student in a gifted class. Turns out, it was because I was gifted with a awesome teacher and his sexual preference had absolutely nothing to do with his ability to teach. Which I'm pretty sure is normal for all teachers. Grammar aside (and yes, my eye is twitching!) compare that tweet to "As a straight male, how would you feel about your child having a heterosexual school teacher? Whom they're around for 8 hours of the day?" Naj, or any other bigot, can you explain to me the difference?
Don't have kids, but seriously? WTF(!) does what the guy or lass have for a partner in life have to do with their ability to teach someone something? All I am interested in is two things: Teach the kids what they need to know, and be good at it, and secondly, don't impose any of your views on them, in the same way that nobody else should impose their views on you.

The person who signs the marriage license must be recognized by the state as authorized to do so. That person might be a judge, a magistrate, or a religious cleric.
