We humans are very weird creatures, when you think about it. We are all so different, but also, there are so many things about what we agree on. For example, using a urinal next to another person while there are many others available is very creepy and not normal. Or, for instance, standing on your porch in the middle of the night. You know, I am speaking about things which are legal and there are no rules forbidding them, but it still feels creepy and seeing somebody do it makes you feel uneasy.

Hold that thought, though, because recently one Redditor asked folks to name things which are perfectly legal but are creepy as hell. Community members shared many different weird things, starting from creating websites that count when celebrities turn 18, finishing with walking down the street with a glass of water. So buckle up, check out the best, or to be more specific, the creepiest things and write what makes you feel weird in the comments!

Everytime I get talked to about "groomers" and "drag queens" I point to these abominations at which point I'm being lectures on "parental rights" and "why don't you want these girls to be empowered?". Empowered for what exactly?

Exactly!! How is it “building their confidence” when they have spray tans, makeup, and fake teeth in? They are being told that they aren’t good enough.

Pageants in general need to be left in the past and we should definitely not encourage children to take part in them.

Yeah, totally not okay. I would recommend any parent that thinks this is okay to get psychologically evaluated (I'm not being sarcastic, for once). The mental health issues that go behind thinking it's okay (and that the parents actually desire) to have a crowd of adults JUDGE little ones and knowing that those types of events are chum in the waters for pervs....those parents need evaluated.

Not true. There are more rules about how much makeup they can use in each age group, but there are a lot of child beauty pageants in the UK. Some of them include babies. The whole thing actually started in Britain in the late 19th century.

I remember the time, when in the early '90s I saw an USA-crime-film production, having on the spot a child beauty pageant. I was -then as a teen- shocked, like WTF-is-this-shít? Is-a-real-thing-in-the-USA? Jesus! So unreal! I mean, why anybody wants his/her 5-13 year old kid looking like a mid-30's, 'I've-seem-them-all" female character from a dystopian sc-fi movie?

Bored Panda got in touch with the author of this thread, u/ArpanMondal270, and he kindly agreed to share more insights behind the inspiration of this discussion and favorite responses.

“Much of the internet is repetition. Statistics say the same for the front page of the internet - Reddit.”

So the author says that claiming that this thread was an original creation of his would be a downright lie. However, all of our ideas come from somewhere else. “As Tarantino says, ‘I steal from every single movie.’ I stole it too and then edited. The original form was - 'What is something creepy but legal in the US?'" the Redditor shares.

“And at past 1AM when I was creeping around r/askreddit, the idea clicked. That's how I started that thread.”

She could not understand I wanted my daughter to just have a childhood, I didn't want her to be critiqued on appearance before she could even walk, I wanted her to have a teenage life where she wasn't obsessing over her appearance. In the EU there is a lot of restrictions on how you handle animals for research (Directive 2010/63/EU). But there is no restrictions on the kind of animal DATA you use for research, as long as you didn't collect the data from living animal subjects in an EU member state. So you can USE data that was drawn from animals living in the most appalling conditions and in contravention with any and all animal welfare standards and its perfectly legal.

Kinda ableist, tho. Some ppl, incl neurodivergent individuals, may do this and it's not directed at you personally. It is the way they acquire information about their environment, their surroundings. Tbh, I think many of us tend to take things personally a bit too frequently

Screaming in a public place just like that? Unless it's a curfew, of course, or you're yelling at another person.

Just curious, but why not? I'm trying to think of how it impinges on others, unless it's a crowded train/subway station platform where you're waiting. Again, the person may have physical ailments that preclude them from standing. I had to bring a small folding chair with me when I was crippled (hip dysplasia). Both standing and sitting were very difficultfor me, as my hip was literally coming out of the socket. but I found one particular chair that was small ,portable, and allowed me to sit at an angle that accommodated my hip , which couldn't bend to 45 degrees (think of a metal ball and socket, where if you pull it out a bit, it no longer rotates smoothly). So, yeah, I hated carrying that chair, it was embarrassing and a pain, but I needed it
