Most great photographers will tell you that it’s about talent and many years of perfecting your skills rather than fancy equipment with tons of features. The winners of this year’s iPhone Photography Award are a great example of that. Scroll down to see the 1, 2, and 3rd place winners of different categories - all photos were taken with an iPhone!

There are cases designed to take smart phones underwater. This is fairly close to the surface.
Load More Replies...That's a huge compliment for me, Kelley. I used the iPhone XR to photograph this humpback whale.
Load More Replies...Amazing photograph! That is an incredible amount of clarity for an IPhone. I'm curious what underwater housing they used and how they were able to get this shot.
I used the Kraken underwater housing. The bright sunlight from above helped me get this photograph in focus.
Load More Replies...That is a very good point!! I don't use apple products because if someone even spits in the direction of an iPhone while talking, the f doesn't want to work anymore...maybe it'll think about it after a rice rest!!!

Lovely, atmospheric photograph. It reminds me of a crisp autumn morning.
someone please explain to me how these are iphone photos? my iphone could NOT take a picture like this.
It looks like there's a face in the back, in the mist, of an animal's face.

Little known fact: An aspen tree grows roots near the surface of the ground from which new trees sprout. The new trees are genetically identical to the parent tree. This process will grow entire forests of aspen that are all interconnected by roots and are ONE genetic individual.

It’s gorgeous but I’m so confused and trying to figure it out 😜. Am I alone?
If this is 3rd place, I can’t wait to see 1st and 2nd. This is gorgeous! What were your settings and on which iPhone?

I really like this photo but let's face it: it is the color that do the job here
I think so, also. In 1966 Cadillac did not offer pink - the car is probably white.

It looks like they allow a lot of post processing on the photos so I’m assuming it’s a combination of an external filter (covers all lenses) and editing.

Hauntingly eerie. I would love to know the story behind this photograph.
"Mosul, Iraq (2021). The soldier moved towards the kid suddenly and unexpectedly. His hand reached for the kid's face. For a brief moment. I could not see the soldier's face - as not one inch of his skin was left uncovered by his full armor - but I felt he meant it with some kind of melancholic affection: like older people sometimes do to the young, with a mixture of worry about their future and desire to encourage them. In that instant, against the silence of the gutted city, I felt I could almost hear the noise of the herculean effort of growing up." Antonio Denti

I love playing with shadows and light like that! I’m my house in the early summer the sun sets just right and there’s a few spots where u get good rays like this. Love it when the light hits my eyes and they glow.
The beauty of brown eyes, many dont notice the beauty till the light hits em just right.

The crazy in me has decided that the smooth green plateau is a golf course.
It's as if they caught Mother Nature in the midst of actually creating this landscape! 👍💕

Imagine how difficult it would be to discover you've taken the wrong one!
Load More Replies...Experienced a version of this on a trip to Shanghai well over a dozen years ago. It was more exciting than frightening but I was a bus passenger. Our driver was a magician in disguise. We went from navigating this to our hotel on a tiny street at ground level where he managed to back in and around a corner without so much as a smidgen of trouble. Now, he got a great round of applause after this and many grateful Yuen tips in appreciation of his driving skills. Hero!
Wow, was about to say i'd spend years trying to find my way off this, but then noticed that nearly all of the yellow and white cars are the same car.
Huangjuewan Interchange, Chongqing, China, And as for the yellow and white, in my experience (someone can correct me) most yellows are "single" taxis and the white vans are commuter taxis,

Black and white and colors are so fun to play with in photography. The simplicity of the black left side adds to the photo so much even thoigh it’s just a small detail

Toilet roll and face masks, at one point both more expensive than gold!
Is he wrapped in toilet paper? He has two masks also. Weird...unique! I like the way that could be any man out there!
