I've quit smoking when I had children. Would be tempted to buy the smokes and just keep the box. Too cool to actually use for discouragement.

The problem with using death to steer people away from cigarettes is that death sells! Always has in the history of advertising. Sex and Death. In many people, death is very attractive. This is why people seek out drugs even when they become deadly like fentanyl and Tranq. Some people don't want to live but they don't want to kill their self, so they unconsciously seek death in other ways.

Reminds me of the full-color photos on Canadian cigs that show all kinds of medical yuck (gangrene, et al) that come from smoking. My friends were nonplussed and smoked them anyway.

Stihl (Chainsaws etc) now use hay as stuffing when they send out products in cartons. Had my chainsaw delivered and the box was stuffed with hay, and a card asking how I like the filler material. I responded with "I love it, very eco friendly and compostable. But my horses love it even more, and will compost it for me."
Anyone remembers the gamecube ? It was its own packaging with its handle to bring to your friend's home it was neat

Nice but I wish they'd concentrate on designing a package that wasn't embossed in bullet proof plastic and requires a chain saw to open.
This will change when people stop trying to steal products in siad packaging ... so I guess it will never change.
