Remember the last time you scrolled through your Instagram feed and thought that the world is unfair? Looking at perfect Insta-shots is known to seriously damage your self-image, but it’s easy to forget that none of it is actually real. Influencers spend 40 hours a day staging, taking trillions of shots, and retouching the pics until they have something to show their followers.
But one Thai model knows there’s a whole different reality behind every Insta-perfect shot, and she’s not afraid to show it. Vienadoll has been making hilarious "Instagram vs. Reality" collages for a while now (see Bored Panda's previous article), and her 178k followers can’t get enough of it.
It turns out, for her fancy pics, Vienna uses software that fine-tunes the image by adding a touch-up to her eyes, nose, and mouth. Meanwhile, the reality shots were taken with a simple camera without photo-editing. The result is… well, you gotta see it, but it will definitely make the illusion of "perfection" explode like a balloon.

Bored Panda reached out to Vienna, the fashion model and social media influencer from Thailand who said that she definitely gained a lot of media popularity thanks to her Instagram vs. Reality photo series. “I got more work and was invited to appear on television about my Instagram vs. reality post on Twitter,” she said.
Vienna started modeling when she got noticed by an agent from a modeling agency. She took a photo with one girl who posted it on social media. Immediately, the girl’s agent contacted Vienna and invited her to try her hand at modeling.
At the time Vienna got scouted, she only had 10k followers, but her Twitter audience grew exponentially with time. The Thai influencer told us that her audience kept rapidly growing and now there are a whopping 781.4k followers on her Twitter and 178k followers on her Instagram.
When asked if her audience is still growing, she said yes, indeed, but “not as much as it did before.” It may be attributed to the fact that Vienna is currently doing much less Instagram vs. Reality photos and is mainly working on her YouTube channel, and posting photos from her everyday life on Instagram.
I can totally hear their cackling laughter in the Reality pic. :D
Little girl to.. older little girl??How an expression changes a face..and age.. LOL
Oh yes, here we see the classics such as influencer eating food, influencer forcing herself to have double chin in order to look "ugly", influencer pulling "funny faces". Wow, such progressive, much innovator.
Both sides are still staged though? No "reality" in either of these, only "pretty" poses versus pulling and ugly face.
The left pictures are mostly if not all photoshopped/filtered. She's thinner, whiter and with larger eyes.
Load More Replies...I am sick of these posts. She isn't "revealing" anything. Shes just staging the second picture everytime. Remember the fake double chin influencer? This is here at a smaller leve
While I see the "these pictures are not perfect" side, for a lot of these, she changed clothes and ate noodles. It would have been better to see the "bad" photos without silly/stupid faces and glasses. Thats all.
People on Instagram is body dysmorphic. Most of people tried how to look good and pretty or beautiful for most followers and likes. copy like Kylie or Kim. Kylie is 200milions followers on Instagram. She is fake and not real. she had plastic surgery, Botox, heavy make up or others. Photoshop on Instagram.
I felt as though she was giving us two perspectives. One, is what the world expects from others. Two, the extreme, not the norm as some of you may be thinking. Therefore, forcing the double chin as someone mentioned. But that is only my opinion.
