I would have planted trees around the perimeter so they can’t all look in to the house, and gives them something nicer to look at!

To find out more about the “What The Crazy House” project, Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind it, Robyn from Ohio. “I’m married with 2 kids and I work part time at a shoe store,” she told us. Robyn said that she has always loved to look at houses. Once, she saw a space bedroom which became her first post. “It was unbelievably wild and I thought that I see weird stuff in the houses I look at all the time.”

That’s how she came up with an idea to put them all in one place and start the page. “On a whim one day, I made Whatthecrazyhouse. I don’t even think I remember how I came up with the name! It was just a split moment decision,” the creator said and added that she started “What The House” back in February, 2019 but she really didn’t get a following until this past year.

When asked how she’d describe her audience, Robyn said that they’re like her: “fun and snarky.” She added: “I’m proud to say they are nice and funny. I’ve never had a fight break out. Everyone is just here to laugh and make fun of stuff in a lighthearted manner.” Robyn really loves this page and she is super proud to run it. “It’s all for fun!,” she said.

The creator said that she “hates '80s decor so she posts some of that.” “I am constantly seeing things I’ve never thought possible and that shock me. And then I think that someone did this… on purpose?! What?!!” she wondered.

We also asked Robyn what was the craziest house she has ever seen, and she said that “it’s a tie between the murder house and the cat poster house where cat pictures were EVERYWHERE. I mean it: they were all over the bathroom and kitchen and walls and ceiling. Just cats.”

When asked what could be the motives for why people design and build such crazy houses, Robyn said that this is how they express themselves or that they’re simply weird. “We are all a little weird, but sometimes things just go wacky and we get the wild things I post.”

A large black cauldron, with a brew bubbling in it, being stirred by the Three Weird Sisters from MacBeth, would give the look some polish. Don’t you think?

Photoshop. Look closely. The ceiling is damaged, possibly from someone falling through. the curve around the tree looks very odd, and the tree casts no shadow., while the cabinets and fridge do. While the tree trunk itself has odd shadows on it, likely from another tree. The reflection of the fridge is likely an open door.

Those shadows are actually a type of sap. My gigantic silver maple and my neighbor's silver maple had these for quite a few years. I don't see it this year, so whatever caused it (something spreadable, if I remember correctly) has run its course.

In the city I grew up in, Southern California area, it was illegal to cut down any California Oak trees unless they were dead. It wasn't uncommon to see a custom home with an oak growing out of it.

A lot of people around here build around old trees but they are usually coming through the deck.

In an effort to be "clever", this is just stupid. The tree will die, if it has not already died, and the house will be continually filled with insects. Just stupid.

My wife used to clean a house with a tree in the middle of the living room. She said there were critters constantly getting in because there was enough of a gap between tree and house.

Not the best place to put a kitchen. If instead it was seating area it could look good, but kitchens need to be more practical.

I guess they built the house around the tree, instead of chopping it down? If yes, then this is very cool - not executed in the best way though

Aside from some of the color schemes, it’s not half bad. Outside is really nice, though I’d go with pale blue or pale yellow instead of mint green.
