When I was a small child, around 5... this was 1973... I had a very tight knit neighborhood. All the kids played together. 2 older boys around 8 years old were playing Cowboys across the street. One found his dad's gun and accidentally shot the other boy :( The reason he didn't survive? His parents were Jehovah's Witnesses and they don't allow the blood transfusion that would've saved his life :(. It's 50 years later and it still haunts me. I remember my mother being absolutely livid with his parents.

Again, beat me to it. Da*n it! I call BS on this whole thing. 1. Nobody in ER would rec Tamiflu if we've progressed to pneumonia, b/c by then, you're done. 2. Tamiflu is best if admin'd within 24-48 hours for influenza. so 3. Anyone saying she'd decline a life-saving treatment needs to be arrested, IMHO, and their child/ren removed.

As a parent and a public health worker, I sincerely wish you -- or someone -- would.

I don’t know about this situation, I don’t know those medicines, but where I live they would - the doctors would save the kids life. They have the right to override lunatic parents when life or permanent health is at jeopardy. The parents can just save their breath and shut the fυck up, they have no say in that very particular situation. They will get a visit from our version of CPS, though, since they endangered their child’s LIFE. Their goddamned LIFE. We do not take kindly to that.

As a medical doctor you’d have much better spelling And you also wouldn’t want to lose your job and risk not being able to save the other thousands of non idiots. There’s a legal system designed for cases like this. 🤷🏻‍♀️

A doctor would prioritize saving the child over committing a violent crime. NGL, I doubt any tough talkers here would stick their neck out and risk their career or jail to save a child’s life. If the time ever comes, maybe a panda will prove me wrong
