Feminism has seen a lot of wins in the past century. Over 60 countries have had female leaders since 1960, and the 2022 Winter Olympic Games were the most gender-balanced Olympics in history. However, despite the fact that it’s 2023, some men feel the need to act like they’re living in the 1800s with the way that they treat women.

Life is not black and white. And making huge, sweeping blanket statements such as, “I hate men” usually does a disservice to conversations about feminism and misogyny that require much more nuance. However, when I see posts like these online, I can’t help but think for a moment, “Okay, I understand why some women might feel that way.” And sadly, our exposure to sexism starts young. According to one UK survey, 66% of 16-18 year old girls reported experiencing sexist language at school. But even women in high-ranking positions aren’t spared, as 67% of women parliamentarians in Africa admitted to frequently being subjected to sexist remarks and attitudes.
There’s no question that our society is still biased towards men. One 2018 Pew Research Center survey analyzing the traits Americans associate with each gender found that they are much more likely to use the word “powerful” to describe men in a positive way, while the word often has a negative connotation when referring to women. Americans are also twice as likely to use the word “honest” to refer to men than women. “Beautiful” was almost exclusively used for women, and “provider” was only used for men.

It's not even a true point. At that age, the bones aren't fused together properly, which does make things more flexible, but also makes them more likely to. You know. Do unfortunate things due to not being stuck together properly. The body and hormones keep developing well into the twenties, and then start going downhill pretty slowly. Hell, you can have kids during menopause if you try hard enough. The average age of puberty has gone down over the years due to a variety of factors (better nutrition being one of them) - so there's not even much of a historical precedent, really. This is probably why there's many, mostly Southern, states that refuse to raise the age of consent above 13 or 14....so that young girls can get married off and impregnated usually by much older men.
One of the reasons Cox says she’s done explaining sexism to men is because it’s nearly impossible to get them to understand the “fear that women have when walking or running alone” or to convince them to believe victims without immediately jumping to skepticism. While many men are quick to ask questions about what a woman was wearing or how drunk she was when she was raped, it might be informative for them to learn that they’re 230 times more likely to be raped than falsely accused of rape. So perhaps they should care about believing victims.

Oh trust me, I would have held it much longer than that if I could have. My 11 year old self wasn't trying to push out anything! Having to deal with menstruating so young is not something I'd wish on my worst enemy. I was not physically or mentally prepared, even though I understood what was happening.

Mens muscles are more specialized to short periods of powerful moves. This is something that athletes need to know, as many women train with the methods that suit men, not women.

He came home with shrapnel scars. He cooked breakfast for us, did laundry and other housework as well. Most men tend to train in shorts and a t-shirt, or sweat pants and a t-shirt if the weather is cold. To be fair at the gym I used to go to so did most women. There were only a few guys who did the "muscle top" thing or girls in the super-tight lycra. The vast majority of people there just kept to themselves, did their workout and left.

I am 5 foot tall and weighed 110 pounds when I got my CDL of course men thought I couldn't drive a tractor trailer. Then they got angry when I drove circles around them. Men certainly feel threatened when they struggle with an activity then a woman comes along and does that same activity with little effort. Nothing beats tying on my steel toed work boots and climbing into my Peterbilt to start out in a cross country drive. My husband had no problem following my lead. That's the sign of a good man, when he can recognize a woman might be more skilled in a certain area then shuts up and falls in line. He got his ego fed when we got to the delivery site, I let him back both trailers in the dock. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. A good partnership finds a balance. I hate backing and he hates navigation and its worked for 20 years.

Maybe it's time men recognize the only reason humanity exists is because mothers and Grandmothers shouldered the burden of survival. It was women who burned through the hours of their lives locked in a life or death battle against disease, starvation and conflict caused by men. When men marched to war or succumbed to wanderlust, who made sure those foolish men had a home to come home too? If they ever came home again. Many didn't. Humanity would have died out long ago without the determination of women.

May I humbly suggest some "guidelines" for playing the boyfriend card. (1) The first mention of a boyfriend (whether relevant or obviously extraneous) to a new male acquaintance informs, clarifies, and simplifies. (2) If the new male acquaintance has shown no signs of interest, a second boyfriend interjection may make you look a bit presumptuous. (3) If you have played the boyfriend card once or multiple times, do not be astonished when the male does not ask you out. I once knew a woman who could not comprehend (2) or (3).
