If you’ve ever been on one, odds are that all the twists, turns, and adrenaline pumping through your veins made it a very memorable experience. And if you’re as awesome and cheesy as we are, then you might even have bought one of those amusement park photos that show you laughing, screaming, and (possibly even) crying while on the ride.

While some of these photos are obviously staged for comedic effect (hello, rollercoaster Jenga players! We bow before your vast imagination), others are 100 percent natural. The timing of the snaps couldn’t have been more perfect and the pics show off incredibly genuine reactions. Honestly, they made our day (and some of us might already be Googling what the opening times for the nearest amusement parks are).

Don't do this. Even if you think it's cute, if you lose your grip, it could smash the person behind you in the face. When you're going 70mph, that's not fun. The over-shoulder harness suggest this ride goes fast and has inversions. Extra stupid and careless.

Newton's first law states that an object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted on by a net external force. - So even IF they lost grip of this thing, what exactly would happen? It will keep its momentum, only slowed down by the air resistance. Most probably, it would fall between them, as the back part of every row is really high. They'd need to yeet it in the air on purpose to have it drop behind them. The probability of it dropping from an inversion onto someone else when they're back down is also rather slim. I do get your direction of thinking, but IMHO, the risk of ANYTHING to happen is minimal.

We don’t know about you, dear Pandas, but some of us here are mighty afraid of heights. So riding on a rollercoaster means having an inner battle within ourselves about whether we want to have fun or stay earthbound and look at everyone else enjoying themselves. Getting over the fear of heights (it’s known as acrophobia) or any other phobia is a challenge in itself. However, it is possible and that way you can have more freedom to enjoy all the things that life has to offer you, big or small.

That particular coaster is a blast! It's a out and back, with like 3 loops a couple double helix ,at about 70mph and about a 100 ft drop but you can't tell exactly how high you are because the ride is entwined amongst the mountains in the cul de sac where the ride is located at the park. The ride is actually pretty short considering you're traveling almost 70mph and it's a lot of action packed in it. I love it myself, it's fantastic! My daughters and son loved it at her age but kids are just different.

It could have been an off the shoulder shirt or a loose shirt designed with a slouchy collar. She was also probably wearing a strapless bra so if that slipped down that may have been the bigger malfunction

Our family spent New Year’s Eve 2019 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. We all got on the roller coaster right before midnight and unbeknownst to us, my 10-year-old son fell asleep as soon as the roller coaster went over the drop! We normally do not get photos from the roller coaster kiosks but after seeing this photo, we felt it was mandatory!

If you haven't ridden valravn, it is completely not worth any row other than the front. The whole appeal is that you hang over the hill for a couple of seconds before you drop. The problem is only the front row actually hangs, the other two just kinda sit at the top of the hill

The Rookie
My sister’s family went to a theme park in NC and she decided her youngest was ready for his 1st roller coaster ride. Apparently, she was wrong and he takes after her. Everyone thinks this is photoshopped because her husband and the other 2 kids are so calm. She tries to ease her conscience by telling everyone it was a kiddie coaster but I’m pretty sure he’s scarred for life.

My dad doesn't like rollercoasters at all. In the fun park we went to most often he only liked one ride where you stay in one place, watch a film and the seats move accordingly to the movie, aka the front moves up if you move up in the movie and so on.

Please do not take unsecured objects on your ride. Your ride staff isn't trying to waste their breath when they say this. You can easily lose your grip going 70mph, and that DSLR or Jenga tower could destroy the person behind you.

I don't have a photo but i remember my mistake when taking a 5yo friends daughter to disneyland Paris. "Oh nemo ride, cool, must be great for a kid...going on: Oh NO I HATE ROLLER COASTERS, AND I CAN'T BREAK THAT KID IT'S NOT MINE! I spent the ride pushing her to the back of her seat and she was yelling "HOLD ON I M FINE!". "no kid i can't break you". After the ride she was like "yeah, let's do it again!" and me with my shaking legs: "NO...let's go see Mickey"

People really need to stop taking very small children on these rides. Not only is it not fun for them, but the movement on their fragile bodies/heads can result in shaken baby syndrome.

One: There are height and weight restrictions on rides. If it’s unsuitable for a child, they shouldn’t be allowed on (unless staff bypass the rules). Two: this is the first time in my life that I have heard that a rollercoaster can cause shaken baby syndrome in children. Do you have any links to when that has actually happened? (And I mean actually happened, not reports on what *could* happen).

So many people don't seem to click on to the fact that just because a kid looks terrified doesn't mean they didn't enjoy the ride. Or in the case where they didn't enjoy it, more often than not kids WANT to go on rides, they act all brave and tough and then realize it's scary after they've had a go. Source: I was a kid that always looked like I was bawling my eyes out on coasters but I absolutely loved them. I just have a scared-looking G-force face.

If your kid is genuinely terrified, please don't force them, and please try to sort it out before you get to the front of the line. If a child is having an existential crisis at the loading station, our general policy was to stop the ride, unstrap the kid, and help them exit. This sometimes means the ride gets shut down for everyone, but we're not going to clear a train for departure when there's a distressed guest on board. You see a lot of selfish parents with young kids at a roller coaster park. The worst is when parents stuff their kids' shoes to bypass the height requirement.
