I’m elderly now. He was my brother’s best friend’s father and one day the family moved away- poof, suddenly. Just gone. I never told my parents about the molestation- I was too ashamed. I found out later that he died pretty young- the bastard. I saw our BF when I was 15 and was shocked he was only one suburb over. He pretty much REFUSED to speak to ME. I did hear that the molester’s nuclear family imploded, somewhat.

J, it was half a century ago and I was 4 or 5 y.o./ I would burst into tears and run away from my parent’s acquaintances- different men growing up for no apparent reason. I was told I once kicked a 23 y.o. male cousin-law so hard in the knee he had trouble walking for a week. I had very vague, fuzzy memory of it and for 30 years this story was told in family lore “proving” I was an untamed hellion as a kid. Finally, I had enough and loudly declared: “what the hell was a 23 y.o grown man doing to small child; alone, unsupervised in a room; that she felt she had to kick him hard enough to get away” Never heard that story brought up again. All this nasty stuff still haunts my nightmares.

....because when i was younger they would to abuse me because i was a tomboy they would make me look like a spoiled rich brat but i really wasn't they would even make me date some bratty rich guy and i didn't like him. they started to abuse me even more when i told them i liked girls, they said ¨eww we aren't going to raise a gay kid like u¨. and thats when i had enough and i tried to commit suicide.......... that's why im afraid of my family. (btw that was what my parents did to me, im not comfortable enough to tell u what the rest of my ¨family¨ did to me)

Saesha, I’ve found friends who are better family then the ones I got rid of by voting them off the island. I hope you do that, too. Btw, my best friend’s Dad wasn’t tolerant when “D”came out, and he cut himself out. Too bad, he missed out on a wonderful son-in-law, two gorgeous grandchildren, and his son refused to go to his burial and say the Jewish prayer for the dead. Committing suicide means they win. Don’t let them win. You win by having a fantastic family and deciding whether or not to go to their funeral the night before. Either way, you’re the winner.

I had something make the foot of my mattress sink down one night and gave me the ‘ole “hairs on the back of your neck stand up” feeling. I said aloud “get the f**k out, my (late) Father was protecting me, and for some reason I started praying in Hebrew (I only knew the prayers for wine and bread, but that seemed to do the trick). Seconds later, the bed seemed normal and the presence was gone. I really hope I was asleep, but I just know I was not.

aw man all the stuff ive seen while i was younger and still do.... at least one of them had felt really good! (and i felt/saw it near where i lived which theres rumors of a demon hanging around, so that one was really comforting)

well I certainly have a memory of my 3 year old self with the fitting hair (back then super curly and short, now less curly and long), falling off the reddish couch that we gave away when I was 4 1/2 and my younger brother staring at me falling and dying with the scars that he had when he was one but around 7ish faded away ___________________________________________________________________________ Also who the f*ck are you telling me that I don't have memory when I was 3. I happen to have a great memory and can remember some memories when I was 2 and can remember the most inconsequential thing ever like the exact words my teacher said or the exact thing my friend texted me before she deleted it.

At night, it was the monster in the closet. Of course, adults didn't believe it was there. Years later, when I babysat children with the same fear, I would tell them to keep the door open a little so that the monster could get some air. "It'll relax and it won't bother you." One girl was nervous even in the daytime. I gave her the advice, then watched her get brave enough to run in and out of the open closet.

Fear of the dark and its unknown contents is not totally irrational. Depending on where you live, some fearsome animals may reside. Not all of them have four legs. This is a healthy fear, deeply embedded in our minds for our safety.

Well I’ve always thought are house was haunted my dad never talks about it but he said something about a ghost named Tony. Tony’s a little boy dressed in striped pajamas who tortures your dreams. At night if I can’t slip into my room fast enough I’ll catch a glimpse of him in the hall Mirror.

I honestly get the same feeling in my house, but it's different. Like right now, I swear I can feel someone staring at me. But when I turn around, the feeling is still there. I'll randomly get that feeling when I'm trying to sleep at night. And one time (I think it was about 2 am) I was trying to sleep, and almost was, when a huge crash came from my bathroom. At the time I had no idea what it was and I literally sat there for about 5 minutes, calmed myself, and then got up and sprinted to the kitchen. I seriously grabbed the biggest knife I could and snuck into the bathroom, only to find that the mirror on the back of the door fell off and the chain that was holding it snapped. I was so terrified ;-; I guess gravity just does what it wants (that or there is a poltergeist in my house)

I once saw a ghost, only for a few seconds when I was about 5-6. I was terrified, it showed up after I looked out my window and then I looked next to me and there was a little girl with like a bob haircut, brown hair, green eyes, green PJs with teddy bears on it. And this sound's a bit weird- but she- burped and then it looked like she swirled around like a portal and disappeared. After that, my eyes were dead open and I couldn't sleep on that side of the bed because I was terrified. But now I'm scared of absolutely everything because it was so incredibly traumatizing. :D

i wish there were more stories of the not-so-scar ghosts that hang around; we have on in our house that we named Casper (because hes not mean) but hes actually an annoying pranker. we have a crawlspace with a little latch thats supposed to keep it propped on the cieling and he decided for a few nights he was gonna rattle that constantly but he stopped when i promised him id show him a new movie tommorow, which i did because he actually stopped. we also know its more of pranks then actually trying to scare us out because multiple people in my family can feel when something evil is around (me, my step-mom, step-sister, and step-brother)

I used to be afraid of spiders and avoided them at all costs. To the point that one time when I was home alone, watching TV in the living room I saw a spider coming at me from the ceiling (well, it was not coming at me, it was actually a few metres away, but still way too close). I left the server (the living room) and ran to the kitchen. I spend a few hours by the window waiting for someone to come home and take care of the spider.

I used to fear the clouds. Reason: They had eyes, I saw faces. But also I had an overactive imagination. I still do. How I got over this fear: Had a dream that I was in the middle of the Africa and the clouds started falling. At first, I panicked. Than I remembered that clouds are soft so I wasn't scared anymore. Plus, if you could make anything out of these clouds and it would come true. That is how my friend got in a submarine accident.

Oh one time i was at my grandma's house and she asked my sister to go get the ketchup out of the fridge in another little building they had, and she got the ketchup out, set it on the counter, then after shutting the fridge went to grap the ketchup and saw a f*****g rat on the counter.Not a small rat either, like this fat ass rat was terrifying. My grandpa came and it ran into the sink and he shot it.

I read lots of books when I was a kid and there were a few that kind of impacted me. I believed that if I stuck my foot or arms out while I was sleeping, a pumpkin or something would bite it off. Or if I kept rolling around in bed, some monster would drop down from the ceiling and jump on me.

I have a lot of fears with my anxiety but as a kid I was terrified of being robbed and I would leave my door open so if we did ever get robbed my dad could come save me. Now I leave my door closed. I'm still scared of getting robbed but it's easier on my mind now. Another thing I used to be terrified of is my best friends basement. I'm not since we turned it into our most awesome hangout space. I agree fully with the monsters, dentists, and bees. But personally, I'm not scared of paranormal entities (just me?) But while I was at my camp I go to every summer, my friend Evan cut open four glowsticks and poured the glowy stuff down my shirt and my hair. oml I stank really bad for about four days lol

I was always scared that someone was watching me in the bathroom. So I would open all the cabinets, look in the closet, and look behind the shower curtain before I could go. And I was scared that someone was hiding in the bottom of those pit toilets they have at campsites. Also quicksand and black widow spiders

Everything that was meant to be spooky. I was raised religious and had occasional night terrors, so I believed every campfire story was true. Constantly waking up my parents or too scared to turn off lights. I eventually got over it - and now I write and publish horror fiction. Go figure. I kind of miss being scared. Just fun scared though - like Halloween stuff. Not real stuff like murder and stuff. That's still scary.

haha... srry but this is to much... my sister, my poor poor sister, we watched the goonies and we told her it wasn't scary, yet she was about to cry at the part where the bad guys almost blend one of the kids hands.. her eyes were as big as saucers

At 9 years old I went to bed and the movement of my bed against the wall disturbed a spider's egg pouch and I woke up covered in baby spiders. Been terrified of them ever since. There are a couple other things thst scared me. There was a mirror on the wall outside my room and sometimes I would see stuff move in it that wasn't there. I had my first experience with sleep paralysis at 10 y/o and it terrified me for a long time. I still remember vividly being paralyzed in bed, looking at my dad and trying to scream as black whisps were pinning me down and passing through my lungs. I recently (am 30 now) had another sleep paralysis experience and it was even worse than I can remember. I was holding my wife's hand and I told her that if I felt weird I would squeeze her hand, and I did when I started feeling immobilized, and something that looked like my wife, but with no eyes and a wide black mouth jumped on my chest and laughed at me. I don't really sleep anymore.

Ok so when i was really little i was scared of a lot of things, i dont remember exactly what, then for like a year i had a really bad fear of dolls, and now i have Spectrophobia, aka the fear of seing something in a mirror that doesnt exist, like a ghost, demon, etc. I WILL NOT GO IN THE SAME ROOM AS A MIRROR IF ITS DARK. YOU BETTER BELIEVE I REACH MY HAND AROUND THE CORNER TO TURN ON THE LIGHT BEFORE I GO IN THE BATHROOM AT NIGHT.

Oh and im kinda scared of some things but not others when it comes to like body parts and medical stuff. I make myself bleed all the time and im fine with the sight of blood, but like, anything that has to do with a disease or infection is a no, and ESPECIALLY IV's like I CANNOT stand the thought of someone putting a needle in my elbow.

The dark, and when I was like, 4-present, I would stare into the darkest corner of the room when I'm sleeping and then 'see' creepy, red, glowing eyes... and I also didn't like eggplant. I was scared that anything could be poisonous. I once saw a ketchup stain on the table, asked my mum for the hundred time if it was poisonous and she didn’t even LOOK at it before saying no! Not me but my little sister , so when she was REALLY little like 2 or 3, we went to my grandparent's house and they have a big entryway with shiny (reflective) tile floors that I personally think are really cool. balloons, dentists, needles, sorta paranormal stuff, grey aliens (because i saw a creepy pic of The Greys)and bigfoot (because of a tv show that dumb 10 year old me watched and i had a VERY overactive imagination). Dentists because one time i was at a new dentists and they had to put a needle in my arm (already bad because i am deathly afraid of needles) to put me to sleep to take out some teeth. Well, they stuck it in, and then they were like "oops wrong place" so they started moving the needle around WHILE IT WAS STILL IN MY ARM. oh and at that time i had a wiggly tooth and my mom told me that while they were doing the procedure, they accidently knocked it out. Safe to say i've never gone there again.
