Can we be KINDER? Please? What happened to the "adorable animals" and "weird clouds" posts? Goofy posts that weren't cruel or anti-(fill in blank)? We NEED to be reminded of fun, good, happy things... Not judgmental AITA, not "AI" art, but feel-good stuff where we see human kindness and can agree on something? (For example, animals are adorable! Flowers are lovely! Funny signs I can deal with!)

This! When I found BP it was mostly comics and pretty pictures. It made my day. Now all the AITA and Entitled Parent posts put me in a bad mood and remind me of all the sucky things in the world. It's not fun anymore and I've really only been sticking around out of loyalty but I'm about done. I don't want to wake up each morning to find some new story about a neglected kid being forced to get creative to get out of taking care of someone else's kids, or some overworked employee maliciously complying with a horrible boss. It bums me out.

Wholeheartedly agree! I don’t like social media, I only have it for work. It’s depressing and stresses me out. Especially during election year. Yes. Bring back to the weird cloud posts. When I found BP it was during COVID and all that craziness and it made me so happy to find a website that was basically just pictures of dogs and funny memes. All the AITA stories only make me think about the sucky things that go on in the world and it is honestly just disappointing because I came to BP to be away from that for a while.

I love looking at the photos of animals and mysterious/beautiful places, historical perspectives, etc. I’m tired of SO many posts involving workplace issues. A few are OK, but I read BP for relaxation - not to get riled up about someone’s crappy boss or work environment. Unfortunately, that’s real life for many - not entertainment.

The censorship is ridiculous, Harmless words, in an appropriate context, are censored because, in a different context, the could be offensive. A sure sign that the editors don’t have a clue how the English language works. But I can put ‘f***y’ in a sentence. A word which means ‘bottom’ in American English, but vagina in Commonwealth English. Go figure.

THIS!!! There is a place for trigger warnings of a very small group of topics and should not be a blanket thing. Where does it stop? Murder, rape, suicide are in our world and media and it's absurd to censor common words. I understand trauma, but expecting the language should change to protect them applied to the entire population is quite scary. People with trauma need to work through any issues that make them unable to read or hear certain words is a clear demonstration of issues that severely impede normal life. That does not mean no sensitivity, but they need to cope in the real world - certain activities and classes for instance can be avoided. Or can be communicated at the start of a course for instance.

i would prefer to see fewer Reddit reposts and more art/photography. i understand that the AITA posts get more clicks, but they’ve been taking over the feed more and more over the past few months. i also don’t like the product and/or movie posts that are clearly just ads for Amazon. i guess BP is doing what they can to make money and keep advertisers, but i miss the creative content.

I would still like to see less USA gatekeeping. More understanding that not everywhere in the world is the same as the USA. I know we all like to relate what we go through in our own countries. That's all fine and cool. It's way more apparent with Americans. Not everything is going to be relevant with the USA. Same with Canada.

That no one is kind to each other - people are either being shamed because of their gender/political views, or people are being shamed for being Christian. Does it matter if someone is gay or if they believe in God? Just be kind to each other. That’s all that’s needed. That is true. I would like to learn more about life in other countries. I know people in rl who haven't heard of Eritrea. I work with someone who's form that country. I used to think Madagascar was all inhabited by just animals. The only other countries from Africa I hear about are the ones going through war and extreme corruption, poverty and droughts. And then there are so many islands throughout Indonesia and southeast Asia, I never hear about until something goes wrong at a textile factory or someone rips open the secretive, exploitive aspect of the fast fashion industry and the pollution it creates. Had no idea other people are moving to these places and doing well.

I prefer posts with cute animals, cool artwork, food photography, funny comics, light hearted stories, and fun facts. I am tired of seeing AITA posts and posts involving controversial topics such as politics. I think this site would be 100% better if most topics that are from either political party could not be posted. I also really dislike the hate that is shown on here for America. There are so many posts about how Americans are awful, ignorant, stupid etc. It makes me mad and sad that a lot of people berate my country. I know it has its issues but so does every country. I wish this site would go back to being a light-hearted fun escape from reality. It used to be, but it has gotten away from that. Bored Panda and Pinterest is the only social media that I am on. But if Bored Panda keeps getting worse I’ll just stop reading it.

The downvote option is often misused. You hide and eventually block a user if their post or comment gets too many downvotes. I understand your intention is to punish offensive material ,but people don't all agree about what is offensive. Further, many people downvote things they simply don't like, even when others upvote and approve the same post. For example, someone posts pictures of their art or craft, or asks a serious question. Is it fair that people who post these can be banned? At the very least, I would prefer to see the number of upvotes and downvotes separately: this would be helpful, because it would reveal if a post simply got 10 downvotes or if it got 90 upvotes and 100 downvotes. You can still hide the content if the downvotes exceed a threshold value.

The fact that when you post on a post like this, there's no upload photo button, and on the posts where you CAN post a photo, it only lets you put text in the title, it doesn't let you put commentary underneath it... it seems you can only do that if you are an original BP staff member.

I found that the like notification works if when it takes you to the page, then scroll right down and open up the rest of the images. Have just checked that this still works for a comment I made from a year ago. Anything older than that I can't try as I've only been on here a year😁

What annoys me is those who feel the necessity to correct grammar or spelling of what someone wrote. If you can read it well enough to correct it let it be. And please remember some of us are not born to the english language.

I love stories about weddings, creepy stuff people found in other people's homes, community posts, funny pictures. There recently was a post about how doctors/health care workers wondered how patients survived as long as they did. That was so fun/creepy/wild. Loved it! Also, I would love to have some posts about what is good/bad about other countries than USA and Japan. Let's explore ALL the countries on Earth together! :)

Remove all the Karen stories/Reddit reposts and instead prioritize stuff like comics and lists. Except for the reposted AskReddit threads. If I wanted to read AITA threads I'd just go to Reddit!

People holier than thou that go every angle at you about how your opinion is oh so wrong. I made comments on a public breast feeding article about how I thought it was weird to breast feed a kid at 7 yo and got totally slammed and down voted for it.

The constant hate for America. Guys, we get it, we know you don't like us or our country. You don't need to remind us what's wrong with the US at every opportunity, and you certainly don't need to rub salt in the wounds like people seem to love to do. WE KNOW. ENOUGH.
