I remember this.... the atmosphere of the day was just so weird. Everything looked like it was smoldering, no-one went outside, and everything was dead silent. I can only sympathize for those who were living in Australia, and suffering from the flames.

Just some background: The Assiniboine River, as far as I know, has never been this low and it's all due to lack of rain and the heat. There's a foot bridge to the left that leads to the park on the other side. The other side of the bridge is a bit deeper, so there must be a drop, and there is still a current in the water. Half of the people in the group decided to wade through the river, getting only their feet wet. There was smoke blowing in from the forest fires in the northerly parts of the province, making it a bit harder to breath. Those sand bars are normally covered in bush. Idk where the vegetation went.
