However, while you can fake-laugh at dreadful jokes and fill awkward silences with stories about the last dream you had, there’s no way you’d be able to find an appropriate reaction to what happened to this girl. Revealing her dilemma, her friend Raychel shared their conversation on Twitter just a couple of days ago, and it has already reached over 30K likes. I just want to downvote the comment "...men are capable of anything"
Agreed, I think it should read: Humans are capable of anything.
Yeah, same... I hope you don't think that every woman on earth thinks this way, Ross.. Just, don't give up on us yet please?
I only have male friends so I'm used to hearing about terrible ex-girlfriends and stuff :p Sometimes when they say that vaginas are evil I think they're forgetting that I also carry this evil vaginamonster with me xp (I know it sounds extreme but the guy that said it was on a rant and he needed it at the time :)
Of course not. We know, but I tell my female friends men are a**holes all the time, cos we generally are. Not to that extreme though.
You meet your date at the location. Never let a first date drive you!
I was just going to say that, who the heck gets in a car with a total stranger?
Yeah 100% it could be either gender but that person is just commenting from her perspective of guys having done crazy shit. I think social media equally represents the crazy girls so we are good!
Taxi/Uber/etc. are a different story, these are business transactions with trackable information. And yes, people are generally good, however, if someone is planning on being bad this would be a perfect scenario to accomplish that. Why put yourself in that situation instead of insisting the first meetup be at a public place for coffee or dinner?
Uber customers, taxi or cab customers etc etc

You have to consider that they've already talked for quite a bit too, it's not total stranger

It's fine, most strangers are pretty trustworthy and if your gut instinct tells you it's okay, it usually is. If there is even the slightest feeling of unease you can bail out of course.
I've been to lots of funerals with lots of guys I'd just met. But then, I'm a mortician and most of the guys were either the ones I had embalmed or related to the person I had embalmed....
I'm torn between the guy being pitiful, or for being a jerk for putting her on the spot.
I'd stick with jerk. His girlfriend dumped him, so he used this girl to make himself look better in front of his family. Someone so self absorbed and entitled doesn't deserve my sympathy.
People can be so bizarrely fucked up. Kudos to the woman putting up with it... but she shouldn’t have. Extra kudos if she didn’t share the guy’s or the family’s name online.
1) why would you get in a car with a total stranger? 2) that guy is a pussy/weirdo. Who needs a stand-in GF to a relative's funeral?
Yeah,it is an awful tinder date,i have to agree. But someone lost a loved person and is griefing.Yeah, the reason he looked on tinder for a grief partner is bizarre.Idk,i kinda feel sorry for him.No need to publicly laugh about him...
No way I'd stay. I would have stayed in the parking lot waiting for a cab or uber. I don't know how that guy walks around with those giant balls.
Creepy and totally manipulative and socially thoughtless. But I admit I was relieved when I read she was safe and there were other people around. I was braced for something criminal to happen and I'm glad it didn't.
Who cares, free food&drinks.. ;)
Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes: "Open Mike Night" sounded like a lot of fun until I found out I'd been invited to an autopsy.
Im splitted up in this :/ ofc you dont take a woman you dot know on a date lime this xD but on the otherhand he didnt wanted to reject her maybe ^^ dont know but there are much more worse dates xD
I dunno - I kind of feel sorry for the guy. I mean, yes, he should have been upfront with the girl, but being dumped, THEN having your Grandmother die with no-one to support you? Eh, I would have stuck it out and cried along with everyone else.
I totally feel for him. He didn't want to explain his breakup to his family while he was mourning his nan. Yes, he was duplicitous, and more than a little bit pathetic. Yes, she was quite a saint. But I'm a mum, and my first instinct here is to hug him and tell him to go ahead and cry.
shocking shocking shocking
I've had worse experiences with online dating. also, I'm glad I don't own a black dress.
I wish Bored Panda would stop posting these clickbait screenshot stories that are probably not true. Some people need way too much attention.
You are a good, compassionate person and certainly deserve better than this bottom feeder. No wonder his girlfriend left him!
it was a dead loss
Nope.
She is basically saying she went out with this guy to be treated. She could have easily called a cab, not to mention that this day and age you have Uber and Lyft. The guy obviously knew she wouldn't have gone if he told her what it was, so her leaving wouldn't have been any worse than what he tricked her into. So she either went on a date expecting him to pay for everything and she had no money. Or she was to childish to confront him about it and shamed his actions socially but never dealt with the situation head on. Either way, he did something wrong, but I'm guessing she was there without money expecting him to pay for everything. She said she was stuck, which hints at her not having any money.
It says Bridget Jones.
"i'll surprise you" ... was surprised all right!
I changed jobs, buried my father, dumped my boyfriend all in the span of a week this summer. To top it off, the ex messaged me two weeks later, "Did you get laid?" Needless to say, I would have never done this to a total stranger, had we gone through with a service. Yes, I am needy and whatnot, but I wouldn't inconvenience them. I would be upfront for sure.
NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE NO THANK YOU HELL NAH
If I were her I would have told his parents that the girlfriend that was supposed to come broke up with him

If it was me, I'd be glad, because I believe: sedare dolorem opus divinum est, "To ease the pain is divine work".
You'd be glad to go to a stranger's funeral with another stranger and comfort the stranger's family? Without you knowing? You sir, are odd.
That my friend, called emphaty.

To comment once in a utterly meaningless post is a concern.. To comment twice replying people that reply to your comment make it seems like you need to get a life as well buddy...
Could you re-phrase that? I didn't understand a word you just said.

A man recruiting a complete stranger to do emotional labor for him on a first date under false pretenses. A classic example of male entitlement.
Just "entitlement.". He didn't use his penis.

He feels entitled to Women’s emotional labor because he was raised as a male in a culture that teaches him that. I stand by male entitlement.

So this story has already reached over 30K likes on Twitter. Seems to me that 30K people need to get a life.
Then why did you comment here it seems you find this story " utterly useless" so why comment?
So why did Wil even read it in the first place? Lol
Why bother commenting then. *Sigh* attention seeking troll.
