my wife already work in in store and they're forces to do that. that's sucks but bosses need to understand that if i get in a store and you come to me and follow me i'll just leave.

I wonder whether or not these employees are scolded by their bosses if they don't do that, even though they hate it as much as you do, or even more.

Sometimes, if it's a small or narrow store and there's people stationed close to the door or the people in the store look straight at me right when I'm about to enter, I just don't enter at all. I don't want to be stared at while I look around.

I'm convinced some shops have policies made by people who have never entered a shop in their lives (aka rich white dudes). I have the same issue with grocery baggers that have never grocery shopped before and so they shove your eggs, bread, and floor cleaner all in the same bag (aka teenage boys), but I digress...

agreed. I don't want pressure when I shop. it's called "browsing" another thing corporations do. forcing their employees to be bubbly happy happy. most customers can sense this pretension.

I straight up ask them to give me room. If you say it POLITELY (super key) and they don't leave you alone, tell their manager you're leaving because you feel crowded and pressured. Guarantee the follower will get a talking to, which they likely need.
