The ability to tell the entire world what you feel or think is dizzying. 'How should I phrase this?' 'Do I include that?' 'Is this oversharing?' So many doubts are lurking around that share button.
But believe it or not, some people are immune to them. They post every thought that crosses their mind. And they can be anyone! Parents complaining about their kids, high schoolers "analyzing" political discourse, celebrities interacting with fans, or everyday folks venting about their lives; we can't keep count.
Here's a collection of tweets from people who decided to get personal online. Too personal!

The staff at CollegeGrad, an entry-level job site for college students and recent grads, believe there are at least 9 things you should never post on social media.
1. Profanity. The language you use on social media is often the same one you'll use when casually interacting with coworkers. A minor four-letter-word once in a while isn't a crime, but if swearing is a big part of who you are, it may affect how employers look at you.
2. Abusive content. Social media can be a great place to share opinions, but if your feed is full of arguments and rants, you may come across as an overly negative person, probably not the kind of employee companies want in their office.
3. Adult content. A snapshot on the beach is perfectly fine but posting explicit photos of yourself can have a noticeable impact on your image. The Internet is a public place. So, before posting a selfie, consider if you are OK with being seen like that in the office.

Best Of Both Worlds Honestly
I Love That Life Makes Sense For Him Now
4. Illegal content. Not only could this get you fired, but it may also land you on America's Stupidest Criminals. Even worse, you could be arrested if authorities see credible evidence of certain kinds of illegal activity.
5. Offensive content. Racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination should have no place in your (online) life.
6. Negative opinions about your job, employer, boss, or professor. One comment about how you hate your job could cause future employers to wonder if you really like the work you are doing or not. And a comment about your "stupid boss" could make your next conversation about the raise you were hoping to get a lot more difficult.
7. Drug-related content. Some employers may require you to pass a drug test as a hiring condition. But chances are you won't even make it that far if you post about substances publicly.

Wait! You Guys Got A Tutorial?!
Yep,she's Right
8. Poor grammar. A comma here and there is nothing but if you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're", it's time to learn. Communication, including writing, is an important part of professional life.
9. Threats. It is not OK to threaten others, no matter the situation you're in. Wishing someone ill, whether it is a friend, family member, colleague, politician, celebrity, whatever; if you don't like someone else, social media is not the place to be hurling threats of any kind.
The Internet is public. Remember that when you're posting from your personal account.

Why is your political affiliation so important to Americans? Are there no people that just don't like any of them? That think, I'll listen to what they say and vote for the person that seems to have the best ideas to me? Nobody that thinks, 'I agree with the Dems on that subject, but disagree with the other thing. And I like the Reps idea on this, but not on that'?

When I was 7, I lost a tooth. I put it under my pillow for the tooth fairy. The next morning I found a $20 bill under my pillow. I rushed in to the kitchen and said "The tooth fairy gave me 20 bucks!!" My mother looked at my Dad and said "Wow...the tooth fairy was generous!" To which my Dad responds "Probably because it was dark and the tooth fairy couldn't see what he was pulling out of his wallet."

The first breakdown would be their wage. The second would be their zero benefits. The third... no pension. This. Is. Genius.
No the first would be “why do I have to re-enter all the s**t when I just submitted my resume?” All downhill from there
Load More Replies...Yes, and seeing their faces when they realize they have to attach a resume after entering all of the same information on the application would be priceless
And again, attacking people for when they were born. Congratulations Millennials, Z-genners etc. for choosing to be born at a different time. So clever of you
Oh yes please. And have them see that all the changes in their benefits that they bitch about aren't just their company, it is everybody. Everybody has similar benefits anymore. There is no 'if you don't like it work somewhere else'.
Try a union job. Unions force the suits, who don't do any of the actual, physical work needed to make or break a company, to pay fair wages and provide benefits. Not fair that the suits get millions while the folks who work so hard have to live hand to mouth.
Load More Replies...I admit it. I am not a fan of posts like this. I am a boomer. Tail end and think rather differently than some do. Yet I am lumped together with all Boomers. I learned long ago not to categorize someone simply for being born during a certain time. I fell for that "Don't trust anyone over the age of 30." stuff much to my regret. I wished my parents (and elders) would just drop dead and get out of the way since as far as I was concerned they were screwing up the planet with pollution, etc. Yet, I see this. If I must be hated for the horrible crime of being born when I was then at least don't do the same thing I did by whitewashing people because of when they were born instead of what they are like. I am not any generation's enemy and I'm sick of it.
Yeah so funny, watching an elderly person have a mental breakdown for giving out dated job advice, so so funny. Lucky you'll never get old and lose touch right? You'll be funny forever.
Back in my day you never lost touch. You walked fifteen miles uphill in the snow to hand off a letter to the post master just to stay in touch. Kids these days would never understand.
Load More Replies...I don't understand the point of this post? Are you blaming boomers for the greed of Mark Zuckerburg, Jeff Bezos etc. None of the greedy billionaires are not boomers. As far as applying for jobs, you fill out an application. To sum up my point, it isn't the fault of boomers that businesses are not offering benefits. That is the fault of franchisee owners, and share holders.
"none of the greedy billionaires are boomers" you are correct and people like to forget this. That said, boomer billionaires suck too.
Load More Replies...Here in Canada, our Employment Insurance program has mandatory classes to show you how to do all this stuff. BTW, how would you feel about having worked for a company for 30 years, then the company folding leaving you with antiquated skills and no pension, on 2 weeks notice?
I think at least tens of thousands of people play that every year. "Joe, we've sold the company. I'm sure with your thirty years of experience they'll keep you on." Mr. Johnson, we've decided to close this department. With your thirty years here you're salary is no longer sustainable. " Then there are women who stayed home to raise the children, act as hostess, etc. Then their husband dies, leaving their finances in a mess.
Big assumption that they either don't work or haven't changed jobs. Maybe they just don't view it as something they're owed and are good employees so they don't change as often and often change for a promotion. Same with Gen X.
You’re missing the point, which is that job searches and entry level positions are not what they used to be. If they had to start from the beginning now using the advice they give their minds would be blown. My mom was promoted into a job requiring a masters with just a HS diploma. That does not happen anymore. She would never even be hired by her company with just a high school diploma. And she certainly wouldn’t have gotten the interview by showing up in person with her resume and calling companies repeatedly asking to talk to HR. She definitely would not make a living wage where she had a house, two kids, two cars, and money for “fun stuff”.
Load More Replies...I am 71 and still get headhunted all the time. I just turned down a lucrative offer last week. I still work full time because I want to. I started work full time at 16 and for a long time I earned crap money for crap jobs. It’s called experience and patience. Stop whining. This is not unique to you.
My mom is going to be 70 and has been at the same company for over 20 years. She keeps saying she is going to find a new job. I keep telling her good luck getting 5 weeks vacation and most holidays off! 10 years ago yes I supported he trying something new. Now it's either stay or retire and find something part time you enjoy! I wish I had a good job like I had 4 years ago when I could pay some of her bills so she would probably feel more comfortable retiring. But health problems and the pandemic...
Load More Replies...It would have to be a reality show; where the GM's,and the CEO's are not boomers themselves, and therefore could relate to the boomers. Thus knocking someone out of a viying position...
I was 55 the last time I submitted a resume. Had an interview the next day, came back next day to meet the manager who wasn't available the first time. Finished the interview and my phone rang 5 minutes later "Can you start tomorrow? " But then it's a different world in Australia. My secret was to have a couple of drinks when updating my resume, I didn't exaggerate but I was more forward in listing my skills.
ah, but the boomers no longer have to apply for jobs, live off your paid in social security....
funny, we hire straight out of college for engineers and they are making close to 6 figures...hmm
No all baby boomers stayed a a single company their whole lives and have does this over and over. My longest and best paying job moved to Mexico, thanks to Clinton. And I've had several different jobs since then. But I'm also very thrifty and hardly ever send money on eating out, new clothes, s**t I don't really need. So I do just fine thank you.
It's hilarious when the spoiled generation complains about the generation who spoiled them.
Hahahaha it's all changed so much. I only give advice IF asked for it.
Or perhaps give them student debt (not as bad as US I'll admit) and low level paying jobs and then try and buy a house in the current Australian market. We received the "at your age we were onto our third house, and have a trust fund, why are you living pay to pay and only just buying your first?" ..perhaps it's because houses are so much more expensive now (house to annual income ratio is ~12.2 whereas in 1970 it was ~4.5), as is the cost of living...among many other factors.
Being very tail end of the boomers, I can assure you I have had a lot of mental breakdowns over the years. I understand the pain.
Seriously, job searching is one of the most disheartening things I've ever done.
Genius!! That would be one heckuva show. Kind of like "Naked and Afraid", without the naked because who'd want to see that?! 🤮 I'm a baby boomer and what younger generations are having to face/do to find employment is truly scary to me. Also, the benefits we and our parents used to have no longer exist and so the way to do it is to save for retirement. Save? Save? 😂😭 How do you do that when you can't afford to move out of you're parents house? Really folks, here's a Boomer who's rooting for you.
Mocking what worked for us, calling us slow and stupid, unable to grasp all this "newness" is at first disheartening and then insulting. We have been through things that you all would "literally die" from that we see you as a bunch of whining pansies. While that isn't right either, you could be what you say we should be, "tolerant and able to learn from others.
YES and then have to save a deposit on a house....then have to listen to Gen X tell them that at least they are getting experience
Would definitely stop the "ppl these days are so overactive about their jobs"
Eh and in 30 years there will be memes about emailing your resume or filling in applications...if we are still here. I have always been surprised anyone hired me, but fake it well.
Then maybe they'd stop pestering all is younger generations about it.
There was actually a TV show in the uk not long ago where parents had to do their kids job. These were really rubbish entry jobs that were on zero hours and you had to do things like deliver milkshakes on just eat etc. It was a total wake up call to these parents what you have to do now for barely any money.
Unpopular opinion incoming....Older folks do way better at job interviews because they can make eye contact with people and actually converse. Unlike the younger generations who just hunch up and mumble into the floor as if they are talking and staring into an invisible phone (which has been removed from their hands for 30 mins). Posts like this remind me that it's not only old people that are grumpy stupid c***s.
You greatly underestimate what experience teaches you. You fail to realize we were in your shoes once, and we've been through some stuff. After you've done 20 hours of work in 10 hours to meet a deadline, applying for a job is easy. I've worked for $2 per hour, so you need to rethink your entire argument.
Still working is very different from the application process
Load More Replies...It's called undercover boss, but they get to go back to being the boss after a few days
They don't apply on Undercover Boss. I want to watch them go through the application process.
Load More Replies...That would be a TV show I could get behind. Boomers having to figure out how to live in the exact same conditions that young people do, including getting multiple minimum wage jobs, having to pay half their wages in rent to get a room in a shared house, or still ,living with parents, and then having to figure out how to pay for everything else, and get an education to move up in the world, all (preferably) while being heavily criticized by the young'uns who are no doubt doing a much better job than the boomers.
