umm. nowadays, get these whinny brats (kids, teens, adults) a taste of their own medicine.

Not all mothers, yes children are what they live, but sometimes children pick up some behaviors from the "friends" that they are hanging with. Maybe parents should also check who their children are hanging out with.

I agree. Why not try teaching the child what bullying does to others like attending a support group to let the kid witness the hurt that her bullying causes.

Sometimes to fully understand some things you gotta feel how does it really feel to be in others people shoes. And then you may gain empathy. There's not only one way to teach things. She's her mom, may not always be right, but surely knows her daughter more than you do. ;)

I guess the mom was so proud of herself that she just coudn't pass the oppoturnity to share with the world how awesome she was.............

I think its okay to share your punishment to your daughter, as it may help other parents, but its competly out of order to have your child write it on a piece of paper and have a photo taken with it.

I kind of agree with you but you never know if this is the first or last straw. I mean it is very possible that this is the last attempt in the long line of attempts of a parent who is trying to educate their child and change their negative behavior. For all you know this parent has tried other avenues to deal with her child's behavior before doing this. A person can never know from seeing one picture on the internet.

It says iPod not phone. And if my kid was cyber bullying I would cell the thing they used also

When it is a parent trying to raise a caring human being it isn't considered "bullying" to be teaching them a lesson.

You will respond differently when you can see what how the other kid is suffering and might even say, "that mom did great, she now can't cyber bully anymore and learns that humans are still humans behind the other side of the screen."

Thats a pretty naive way at looking at the world. If you spend a couple seconds just thinking youd realize that even the best parents have kids that are lead astray by bad company and other influences. To come to an simpleton conclusion "its the parents" just goes to show the lack of nuance you have on the subject matter.

I'm pretty sure your b******t PR parenting skills are what got us here in the first place!

Arrogant, presumptuous and patronising. I'm a psychotherapist, but I don't expect automatic trust on that basis. More importantly, I'm just a common or garden adult. Punishment - even shaming - can be an act of love, as long as it doesn't end there. Giving a child food for thought, especially when he or she has been cruel to others, can be liberating, especially if that child properly digests that food for thought and is rewarded and praised for making amends.
