Before and after the work-hard-play-harder Generation X came two sets of people who seem to be at constant war with each other. Baby Boomers and Millenials have their differences and are prepared to defend their colliding points of view by all means. At times, this Millennials vs. Boomers conflict gets really emotional, and it seems that both are prepared to take it to the streets.
Baby Boomers are typically considered to be born between the mid-1940s and mid-1960s. They were the result of the end of World War II when birth rates spiked. The Boomers became healthier and wealthier than any generation before them. They are thought to be work-centric, extremely hardworking and motivated by position, perks, and prestige. Mentally focused and competitive, the generation grew up in turbulent times (consider the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis or the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.). Because of that, Boomers began to fight for social, economic and political changes. Idealistic and uncynical, this generation was able to buy a house and a car, to chill on a beach, instead of fighting a war.
However, since the Baby Boomers sacrificed a great deal to get where they are, this generation believes that others - mainly, the Millennials - should pay more dues. Millennial generation (also known as Generation Y) are people born between roughly 1980 and 2000. They are thought to possess a great deal of confidence and tolerance, but also entitlement and narcissism. Refusing to comply, they blame the Baby Boomers for wrecking the economy and having zero understanding of the Millennial definition of work-life balance, necessary in the workplace. To shed some light on the conflict, Bored Panda has decided to collect some of the most memorable comebacks the Millennials threw back ant the Baby Boomers. Some are lighthearted and funny, while others try to reason and inform. Scroll down to check our list of Millennial jokes and their clapbacks in this Baby Boomers vs. Millennials war.

But my generation doesn't seem to understand good, non-racist jokes either.
Where I live in Oregon, it's the Baby Boomers who are out PLAYING Pokémon Go, including me and my husband. Our 18-yo son rolls his eyes at us. He and his friends think no one plays Pokémon Go anymore so I had to take a picture of the 80+ people at a raid a few weeks ago. Plenty of people are still playing but because it's not the kids themselves, they think NO one is playing.
I am 32 and I have never had a permanent job even though I spent over 5 years to get an education to become a chef. Because you can't work in a kitchen here in Finland if you don't have the chef's education. Then I watch a TV docomentaries about famous chefs and they tell how they started working at a kitchen when they were 13 years old and they did non stop chef's job over 50 years and now they are millionaires and they have many Michelin stars and restaurants all over the world...I just struggle with the unemployment benefits money (500-700 € per month).
I'm 15 and facing the same problem. Getting amused looks by my grandmother and co-students for saying that if I don't accomplish my goal to get a job in field zoology, I would be comfortable becoming an English-Bulgarian translator of scientific books. What the hell is wrong with them? I'm just trying to be innovative and different. I'm looking for any satisfactory(I refuse to work in an office. I'd rather be poorer, than a prisoner of a job I hate) career path possible, that would bring me modest but sufficient salary to live with, while they either struggle(the former one)or are completely dependent on technology(the second ones).
Oh my God this is too true. I always find it so funny how these artists then rely on social media and technology for their "art" to be seen. "The sad truth about today's world" shut the f**k up
What's really ironic is that the Baby Boomers were raised by what they call The Greatest Generation. So you would think that they would be raised well. Here is the thing. The Greatest Generation lived through a lot. The Depression, WWII, etc. So when they had kids, they didn't want them to suffer in the way that they themselves did. So therefore, they babied them. They made sure they had good lives. Which is fine and all. But it made them grow up to be spoiled brats that ruined the economy.
Whoo! Being Gen X rocks! Never get blamed! (Unless this millennial just has old parents)
Y'all know there are 2 generations between baby boomers and millennials right? I mean my age group is Gen X, then there is the forgotten Gen Y. My parents are baby boomers, if I had children they would be millennials. My siblings (except the 2 youngest) are Gen Y. I agree with one thing though, whoever raised this generation of whiny, entitled little pricks who cannot go one day without crying that they have to earn what they want truly are the worst parents ever.
Generation Y was a popular term given to millennials before there was an actual name for the generation, so there's only one generation in between Baby Boomers and Millennials. Since the millennial generation encompasses people from the early 80's to today there is a wide range, some having baby boomer parents and some having generation x parents.
Load More Replies...How do you figure? My mom was born in 61, her sisters were born in 57. My aunts are solid boomers, my mom is on the cusp of boomer and gen X. My brother and one cousin were born in 1980, on the cusp of gen x and millenial. I was born in 1989, so'idly a millenial. Most of my friends in school had parents born right around that same time frame as my aunts and parents.
Load More Replies...how so-each generation has pros and cons. and all hsve different ideas.
I think the baby boomers are all braindamaged because their mothers were anesthetized during labor. They were all heavily drugged at birth. And the Moms had a hard time recovering from it. Very unnatural experience. And around those times, a lot of parents were influenced by some guy who basically said your job was to feed and cloth your kids, not be any more involved than that or show them affection (or teach them anything). It completely messed up my two oldest sisters (now around 65 and 67).
mmmmm do a little more math there. Baby boomers are your great grandparents today.
Wrong. Babyboomers are grand-parents to millenials. There's generation X between them. Some people are confusing millenials with generation Y.
Well, baby boomers would more be the grandparents of millennials, but I get your point, even though it's off. It's the generation x'ers like myself who were the bad parents. We were raised to do hard work and make wise decisions for our futures. In rebelling against that, we told our kids (millennials) that they can do and be whatever they wanted, but the must go to college. Well, millennials went to college, for art history, lesbian dance theory, women's studies, etc. Oops! Living in the basement, working at the coffee shop.
lesbian dance theory sounds fun, maybe i’ll major in that…
Load More Replies...I see this as something good. We are slowly eliminating the problems in society, starting from the most pressing. Now that they got equal rights for men and women, we can focus on something else, like gay rights. Yes, the discrimination of the LGBTQ community is a lesser problem than the descrimination of women was. But thats Good! That's progress! Why should we stop trying to help and fix, just because the problems aren't as big any more?
I remember when my mom always commented on me like "Why do you have to share your entire life on FB etc.?!?!" Today, I am happy if I do not wake up to a notification that my mom uploaded 456.405 pictures to the new album called "Sunday morning walk around the lake" or stuff like that... I see double standards coming in ;)
I remember once I bought this big piece of cork bark for my lizard (I buy it cause that way it comes clean the stores have bigger, thicker pieces) and my mum says to me "why don't you just go outside and get a piece of bark for free?" Like okay mom, you're the one who had a pet rock, why didn't you just go outside and get a rock for free?
I’m so glad the UK pays a decent minimum wage and tipping is rarely expected or needed.
Double standards and annoying hypocrites everywhere! It does get annoying after a while.
Again, is it really generational? Maybe it's somewhat more common attitude with older people, but all the a******s in Charlottesville that I saw were pretty young.
free love and demonstrating injustice yet millennials are hypersexual and shouldn't protest
Sorry baby boomers, but I'm a millennial and I used the library for projects too. I also know cursive, in case you're wondering.
That's how they made so many babies. They were impatient to find the best child.
Their generation protested nam, so it wasn't that one. But thegulf war, the Iraqi was, and the Afghanistan war are all on them
Buslady, we weren’t talking about you specifically, just your generation. If you’re not part of the problem, that’s fantastic, but don’t get personally offended when someone complains about your generation, it makes you look petty
Boomer: doesn't tip because their well-done piece of shoe meat isn't on their table in 5 minutes.
I always tip more than that, especially for a haircut. So the cut costs $12, figure the stylist can do 3 per hour (if they are always busy), bringing an income of $36/hr. That sounds pretty good until you realize that they have to rent the chair, pay for their own equipment and supplies, they have to spend more time & money on their own appearance (because who wants a haircut from someone who isn't put-together enough to do their own hair nicely). In my area, a stylist actually gets a check for around $9/hr BEFORE TAXES. I know my stylist just had a baby because she kept getting more and more pregnant until she suddenly got less pregnant, and that is sure as hell not cheap. I round to $20.
BusLady literally describes herself as 'Little old church lady', but don't call her old LOL! !
We don't want to ban anyone in particular. We just want our immigrants to go through the process and have background checks. I've been through various parts of Africa and had to show my documents at every checkpoint. I certainly never felt a tinge of racism, just due process.
What do you think we do most of the time on our phones? It's definitely not read (fanfics, blogs, messages, etc) and write! (Texts, blogs, fanfics, etc)
Is anyone else absolutely sick of BusLady? Her tin-earedness is the epitome of everything the post's about.
I always give my parents these "tech 101" classes ahah like how merge all jpgs into a pdf file or how their phones work
I swear "BusLady" is only making these comments to prove some of our points... :p
I am a Millennial and this is incomprehensible. Wish people, of any generation, would use proper punctuation and spellcheck.
umm... my baby boomer parents mooch off my Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and HBO accounts...
Okay, BusLady, your generation is the single richest one in the history of Humanity. Not only in cash, but assets. You had the ability to buy a home on minimum wage, afford a college education, buy a car and hundreds of other luxuries that the huge majority of my generation can only dream of. I've ridden 83 miles in a day on my bike, not because I wanted to, but because I simply can't afford a car, and there was no sale on train tickets.
I can't believe the number of old rednecks I see on the road in their giant trucks who have their phone up to their faces and not looking at the road. What the heck happened to old rednecks hating cell phones! Am I in the upside down?
Literally put signed in via Facebook to downvote all of BusLady's clueless comments. These DO make sense and this IS out daily lives when meanwhile you don't get why it is harder for our generation and at the same time don't realize that 30s means 30 seconds. Wow.
yeah, I dunno... It seems that a lot of people find it easier to blame the generation before, or before that. There's gotta be a point when we stop placing the blame and start making a change?
That's what I was thinking. There's so much blame and no trying to work together to resolve the issues. So much resentment and arguing.
Load More Replies...Wow... What a messy comments section... I feel like I should say that the millennials weren’t talking about ALL baby boomers, they’re referring to all the baby boomers who have been criticizing millinials almost all their lives. There shouldn’t be a war between generations, but it can’t be expected for millennials to sit still and quiet while they’re told they’re incompetent.
meh. I bet in several decades the Millenials will do the same for the next generation, whatever they will be called.
One thing I find interesting is that research into the human brain has found that the structure and the way the brain thinks changes as you age. So it's almost hardwired for us to be more idealistic and black-or-white in our thinking when we are younger, and more flexible in our thinking, able to see multiple points to a situation, and more conservative as we age. Theories also propose that the accumulation of experience changes the thinking because it requires the brain to broaden it's thinking abilities, which changes the structures in the brain, too.

I liked these, and I'm a crotchety old gen-x. Hopefully ageism will be soon be the new racism (as in the new no-no) and we can stop denigrating others because they happen to be born later than us.
I saw the humour, frustration and sadness in many of these and laughed at a lot of it! Perhaps because I am GenX and in the middle generation? I have experienced many of the struggles of the Millenials (overpriced housing, student loans etc) but also remember a time before the Internet when duck-faced selfiies were not an art form. Patience and understanding has to be practiced on both ends of the spectrum. The Boomers seem to struggle with their reliance and addiction to a technology that their own generation created. Remember Millenials - take it with a grain of salt, for some of it is self-loathing projected outwards. The more things change, the more they stay the same!
I don't see how this got posted under the the "Funny" category. Not much humour here. A lot of hatred and anger. And apparently, I'm the Poster Child. I can just picture people going to this site to see what "BusLady has said now. LOL

Angela, I'm sorry to hear that about your Dad. I'm sure it still bothers him. And a lot of the men came home with "hidden" disabilities, like my Uncle. And they were forced to go BC of the draft. As a boomer I want to thank you Panda. Until I read this I didn't even realize there was any animosity between millennials and boomers. This is what America needs, more polarization. We need to come together. Against the Gen Xers!
Yep, Kenny, the only way is to stop the animosity and the blaming, and see what is/was good about each other. Polarization has never brought anything positive, just more war and grief.
