That's genius! When my mom was still alive she used to put cloth ribbons in the yard and on branches of the trees so the birds would use them in their nests. She said every living thing deserved to have pretty things. Lol! I wish I had pictures of the nests that were built in the tree of our front yard cause they were fabulous! Not a day goes by that I don't miss her.

This also works with human hair. One of my relatives used to cut the hair of other people (he was not a barber or a hairdresser but was still a quite good at cutting hair) and then he left the cut hair outside so the birds and squirrels could take them to make nests.

A friend used that hair to knit. You need to spin it with something else though , can 't remember if it was sheep or goat.

I'm not even close to a 'Grandma" Yet but, My 3 Dogs lose soooooooo MUCH Hair, instead of tossing it in the trash, I spread it out on the trees on my property, for the Birds, Squirrels, etc. It's so cold right now where we live, I always figure that: "Why Not?" It's usually gone within a few hours & if it helps keep some 'babies or Animal Family warm, cosy & snug during the winter; that makes me feel great! :)
