Probably most of us love our pets absolutely unconditionally, whatever they are - cats, dogs or... Fish? You read it right! While both cats and dogs get loads of attention all over the internet, fish owners decided they are no lesser than the latter. Having that in mind, someone thought what could better get the attention of people all over the Internet if not some good old shaming posts. Remember? We here on Bored Panda had a good share of laughs, going through these cat and dog shaming posts, so let's give it a go with these terribly naughty fish as well. Scroll down to see all the little criminals!

His face!! It's like, he's super proud and feels you are too- that's why you're photographing him to document his accomplishments!! Lol
This really seems like an owner issue. Puffer fish tend to be aggressive and predatory. You really need to be careful about choosing suitable tank mates and even determining if you actually have the ROOM for both them and the puffer.
Actually fish will eat their own eggs to stop other fish from eating them.
What is the point of that? At least they get a return on the protein put out by taking it back in?
Load More Replies...This is a cichlid. They are mouthbrooders. She's not eating them - she stores the eggs and the babies in her mouth to protect them.
That's definitely not following the rules of dining etiquette. Really bad (table) manners
i'm not sure what your college experience was like but i think you need to call the police
Load More Replies...You are correct. I was looking at the comments to see if anyone else recognized it!
Load More Replies...Not while you're trying to sleep! I had a fish who did that. *tink!* *tink!* *tink!* (you get it). and it's NOT quiet!
Load More Replies...Do you leave his lights on ? Turn them off If they are off when he does it turn them on See if it helps
Maybe he would be happier with natural sand and more real plants? Just a suggestion...
Well they do that. Not a fan of company from other species. Also the blue gravel is not really what he needs.
And that proves living alone does not always make one unhappy... I understand you buudy :)
Maybe he's a fish who thinks he's a dog. A "Dog fish" in his mind!~
Load More Replies...couldnt find anyone to take 100 guppies so i introduced 2 guppy monsters & now im down to 7... KIMG8897-5...ade7a0.jpg
The guppy swarm has become feeder guppies lol
Load More Replies...Might be a reaction to the disco environment he never asked for. He must feel like he is on a never ending LSD trip.
I love big personalities in animals. I wonder how that fish would react if the mermaid was in the tank.
I have a sassy AF chicken that is deaf her name is Leah.
Load More Replies...Omg I had the same mermaid in front of my beta fish for a while but then I gave it to my sister. So now he ignores me unless I am giving him food and then we are friends again for the time being. Lol
My beta would read I killed a pleco 4 times my size after being good roommates for a year
It was a fish! Must be difficult to hold a pen with fins
Load More Replies...Mine immediately tried to eat the tetras. Plecos.... tetras... all good safe betta buddies my fish store says... no they're not
Harlequin rasboras are good enough in my experience. In a 15 gallon tank with lots of room for territories.
Load More Replies...It looks like a kuhli loach, I have two, Noodle and Wyrm and they're either hiding or dashing around the tank like greased lightning
Yep think it's a kuhli loach. They should be in group of at least 4-6
So separate them instead of giving this creature constant terror.
I had to look the shrimp name up, because I thought there was no way it was going to be the shrimp that come in the freeze dried packages ... it is.
Reminds me of when Homer got mad that Pinchy got bullied by a punk-a*s crab, lol. pinchy-pun...a42816.jpg
My betta is usually a tough guy who defends his food but is otherwise chill, the other day my biggest amano went up to him and stole his bloodworm directly from his mouth. He was so infuriated with the shrimp he didnt even move for a few seconds.
I love these fish, the literally grunt at each other. We had 3 of them, so much noise in the aquarium
Sorry but it's 'There can be only one'. A subtle difference I grant youl.
Load More Replies...Yep. Adult angel fish are too aggressive/predatory to be housed with other fish in the usual home aquarium-sized tanks.
Load More Replies...Well, if I lived in such a small bowl I'd try to kill myself, too.
First off- shame on you for putting it in this hellish non-filtered, cold bowl. Bettas are jumpers- do some research before getting anything live!
Looks more like a jail cell than a home :( I'm sorry little fish, it really hurts my heart for you :(
if i was in a bowl with no filtration and no plants or wood which betas LOVE i would bite my owner.
Wow, poor fish! Bowls are horrible for them, no plants, just plastic plants and stones 😢
That`s what you get for putting all those psychedelic stones in the bowl.
Isn't that why they sell those plastic boxes that hang in the tank to separate the parents from their babies? Just sayinnn.... it doesn't have to go down like that.
Others could follow this example. .....just saying
Load More Replies...Most cichlids take care of their brood. I suspect these two are inexperienced parents that don't quite get it yet.
Load More Replies...I was thinking quarantine tank. Esp if she was just under a rock looking dead, maybe the owners are trying some light medical care?
Load More Replies...I'm getting a quarantine tank vibe, or like a baby cup even
Load More Replies...Thought this was a blender and had atrocious flashbacks to Deuce Bigalow
Probably bored from living in something that looks like a pot of plastic.
Because I have a tiny living space and can't cope with sharing. Help me!
Right? Like oh in the wild theyre used to living in the huge ocean where theres plenty of room for them to stay away from other fish that they dont like and now ive forced them into a tiny aquarium together.. Wonder why theyre fighting?
Load More Replies...My Angel fish is 8 yrs old and lives in a 150 gal tank - no aggression because everyone has space and territory
Angelfish Cichlid originates from South America, and should be kept in pair's or just in it's own aquarium. Know what kind of fish are compatible with each other before you just throw them all together in a tank.
An angel should be in a much bigger tank. His growth will be stunted
my friend has two angelfish - Angel and Devil. Devil attacks Angel until she has sex with him and then proceeds to eat some of the eggs and let the other one hatch. Then he eats his newly hatched babies. They are fed well and often and have a big tank.
Btw nori means seaweed in Japanese. I think that's what they mean but it could also be the name of another fish?
Yes, nori is a flattened, dried seaweed "paper" that is very healthy food for many fishes.
Load More Replies...A frag is a piece of coral. People by frags and then place them in their tank where hopefully they will grow.
Load More Replies...So many of these could have been avoided with some basic research before getting fish..
Load More Replies...Yeah, I'm pretty sure that fish don't learn lessons by being removed from a situation.
I'm not being an a*****e, and there's a solid chance I just don't know how to use Google, but I can't find anything about boarding fishy. Again, I might be completely wrong.
Load More Replies...Not the fishes fault really... Whatd you think would happen he would magically stop chasing them after being away..?
Gourami like to swim in a bunch....maybe he is just lonely and trying to swim with fish too small to be with
This is a joke right? People should read about the species before they buy it.
Female bettas are highly territorial, and claim parts of a tank when kept with other females. Which is why when introducing females to a betta sorority you put them into the tank in order of most submissive to highly aggressive, give omega fish a chance to claim a spot. It sort of works like in a dog pack. If you have an overly aggressive alpha, you take it out of the tank for a while and they lose their spot and can’t scare the other fish as much. I know it sounds crazy, but it works for all my betta sororities haha!
Load More Replies...Instead of trying to teach a fish a lesson that it never will learn, know what kind of fish are compatible with each other before you get them. All these people seem to be shaming fish for their lack of knowledge about them.
Don't know why you were downvoted. You're entirely correct.
Load More Replies...It's the specific term for a group of female bettas, as a sub classification instead of the generalized term 'school' of fish. You have to be careful with bettas as they are highly territorial. Males can be kept with a single female, otherwise they have to be alone or they will kill each other. Hence the nickname fighting fish. Females can live together, but will create a hierarchy similar to that of a sorority with humans. There are one to two 'alpha' females who will take the best spots, take the best food, will mate first, etc. Then there are beta bettas which will 'attend' the alpha females much like a sorority princesses acolytes, and then omega bettas which attempt to usurp the beta fishes positions near the alpha. Mostly because the beta fish get the next best food and the omega fish get what's left over. If an alpha gets overly aggressive, removing it from tank will cause a void at the top of the chain. This will allow a beta to move into the alpha position, an omega....
Load More Replies...You're exactly right Lucas! https://stream2sea.com/keeping-it-real-testing-on-fish-and-coral/
Load More Replies...Um, I get the point, I'm against animal testing too and I try and buy cruelty free as often as I can, but this pic doesn't belong on this post. We get it, you've flipped it around and are shaming the humans instead but this was a weird platform to lecture from
I mean.. What do you want drugs to be tested on? You? Or just stop development of medicine?
Why is this downvoted? I hate the idea of any animal suffering, but we do have to test drugs before human use. That's why research universities (in the US) have ethics panels to review the use of animals and the types of tests. Don't know about private industries, many companies are probably not as conscientious.
Load More Replies...But I would love a REASONABLE sized tank. Small would be better than this miniscule and pathetic excuse for a home. Poor fish.
Can you imagine two fish in there?! Dear God!! Please educate yourselves people, he barely has room to turn around!
Load More Replies...Very sad this is awful... get a real tank, he's a real fish not a toy
People should be required to take a two hour fish class before being allowed to own them.
I worked at a pet store. It was awful. Adults are willfully ignorant. You can try and educate them and you can TRY to get people to care, but so many don't care about the fish they so desperately want right now. Thy want them but the idea that something small neeeds CARE? Ludicrous! It's a You can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink type of thing. To them they are just decor.
Load More Replies...I would like to put the owner in the same size space - shocking and cruel.
Get a BIGGER tank, you stupid twat. You should not keep fish if you want to have them homed in a fair give-away tank. Asshats.
that is WAY to small tank for a gourami. Plus there's no heater and no filter
WTF - yes! That is a horribly small bowl. Probably poos for entertainment. Nothing to do, nothing to see.
Load More Replies...Ugh come on! Where else is he suppose to poop? That's just way too tine and absolutely nothing or nowhere for him to hide or anything! I hate seeing this! Really hurts my heart so much!
I don't understand this one (?) He can't use the bathroom anywhere else, fish DO always swim in they're own poop until the bowl is cleaned.
** Plus that bowl is disgustingly dirty **. I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the 1st or even the 100th time, but I always thought a coated/pre washed gravel, grave washer, de chlorinate tap water so the fish can 'breath', and a fish net was absolutely required.
Load More Replies...How is this not cruel. Getting sick of idiots mistreating fish just because they are fish!
Most of these posts are situated on the facts - too little tanks, - too little plants, - wrong sorts of fish together, - babies not separated in time. It is more sad than funny.
Most of these people should not own fish - they clearly haven't done the basic research on how to keep them healthy and safe!
Load More Replies...I don't know much about fish but some of the tanks look too small to me, especially the round bowls (one of them has only some stones and no greenery or anything else in it ... besides the fish and water, of course)
These were not what I thought they would be. This was more a post about uneducated fish owners not understanding how you take care of them. My betta has always been in a 10 gallon tank with plenty of plants and driftwood and a varied diet of real foods not that flaked junk. Had one live almost 5 years (that was ancient for a betta) people need to do research before buying any pet. Fish too.
'23 pictures showing how too many people don't know how to keep tropical fish'. There, Judita. I fixed your title for you.
Fish and birds shouldn't be pets. They get coupes up and in small cages and tanks
I agree - being couped-up in a tiny environment when they have such large free spaces in nature.
Load More Replies...I used to work in a pet store right after my high school graduation. we had this girl who was fired because one day, when a customer came in and wanted to buy a bowl tank for his fish and wouldn't listen to reason, she told him that "he can put that bowl on his head and attend a new years ball as an astronaut". I was so with her on that one because this is the only thing you can do with that "tank".
Shouldn't even be an item that pet stores sell. Customers should listen when offered pet care advice.
Load More Replies...Most of these arent even the fishes fault. They arent d***s for attacking and eating others. Their natural habitat would be the ocean where they have all the space in the world to stay away from the fish they dont like and now theyre being stuffed into small tanks with other fish in their way all the time. Not to mention you should never use a round bowl for a fish and not having anything in there to entertain them or allow them to hide is really sad.
Most of these are freshwater fish, so their habitat wouldn't be the ocean (and in fact many of them have "territories" rather than just being constantly free-swimming everywhere), but yeah, choosing tank mates well and giving adequate space is important because in the wild another fish might be an enemy or food and the fish don't care if that wasn't the owner's plan.
