My mom decided to homeschool me after 7th grade. I'd finally had friends in the 7th grade, as middle school was the FIRST time I'd stayed at a school longer than one year. My mom forced me to take the GED when I was 14, and when I passed, she made me start taking college classes at our community college. Homeschooling can be a DISASTER. I am STILL socially effed up from getting homeschooled and starting college at age 14.

We had a couple of kids at the daycare who had been horribly abused and neglected. They were rescued at 5 & 2. Both were in diapers. Neither could feed himself. Both had bottles. The boys were fostered and adopted by an older couple. They were 7 & 4 when I met them. The older boy had only just been moved to the school-age room. He was able to eat/drink/potty on his own. He hoarded food, though, because he didn't trust yet that he'd be fed every day. When cleaning the rooms, staff would find cookies, crackers, whatever he could hide. The younger boy had nightmares and accidents every nap time (two hours). Both were very aggressive and didn't talk much. It was so horrifying.

This is outright child abuse, but correct me if I’m wrong- don’t toddlers naturally show an interest in being toilet trained? Did this mother just completely ignore this in her child?

The kid might possibly be able to sue the parents. It's a legal obligation to care for your offspring, charging your offspring for that care goes against the written law. They owe the kid that money back. It's like being charged monthly for a car loan, when you have written paperwork saying it's already paid for. The bank owes you that money back. She's states that she's literally just had a baby. There's a condition called - Post Partum Psychosis. It could be that she's experiencing that. It's a very rare disorder... Copy and Paste - Postpartum psychosis: or puerperal psychosis (found in 0.1% of new mothers) is a serious, but relatively rare disorder, with reactions such as extreme confusion, refusal to eat, delusions, auditory hallucinations, hyperactivity and rapid or irrational speech.

I do understand if people are unsure about vaccinations and doing research first. What I don't get, is how these people ignore the probability % of getting sick or even die with/without vaccination. Yes, a vaccination can be dangerous under certain circumstances, but I would rather take the 0,025% risk of a negative effect with vaccination than the 25% without.

You CAN eat raw chicken safely raised, very freshly killed and properly dressed... under super controlled conditions... wouldn't ever DREAM of giving it to babies or children. If you're in America, I'm assuming yes since you mention SSN, go to the local police precinct and ask them for help. Social services can step up and help you take care of it, and the police can take care of your parents. Every kid needs proof of schooling, and every American has an SSN. I'm thinking that you're not actually theirs, and they're trying to hide you so they won't get arrested for kidnapping.

The laws in this case make it even harder to obtain. Here's what I found for my state: "If you are unable to supply any of the primary ID documents or two of the secondary ID documents listed on the ID requirements tab, it is suggested that you have an immediate family member request your certificate. A mother, father, adult sibling, grandparent or spouse is entitled to get the certificate. They would need to make the request, and supply a copy of their ID along with the applicable fee with the request. A legal representative for the registrant who can supply a properly executed Power of Attorney along with their ID, may also be legally able to obtain the certificate on the registrant’s behalf." ...so if your parents or family aren't willing to, MAYBE you can get a lawyer to do this for you. At best.

Here in Chile we can ask for it in a the official website or mobile app and it takes no more than 1 minute to be sent by email. Because of the terrorist attacks, it's near impossible to get your hands on certain documents. They've really come down on security. But, every American is issued an SSN number at birth, but this kid doesn't have one. He needs the authorities, NOW, because it sounds to me like he's been kidnapped as a baby, and his "parents" are trying to keep him hidden. By law, every kid has to be given an education, but he's not in school and doesn't mention home schooling which is watched over by the local government. He needs the cops, and/or CPS and social services.

If this is legit, this is rabies. Rabid animals are deadly scared of water and show weird jerking movement. Whilst humans are not as likely to bite and infect others than animals are, it can still happen. But the most relevant part is, the moment symptoms show up, you're already dead. Rabies vaccines only work in the first 24-72 hours, after that it's already too late. In humans, rabies incubates for between 1 week and 3 months, infected people die within a year max.

The CDC says the last rabies death in the US (for humans) was in Utah in 2018 and it was a 55 yo man. No child in the US has died due to rabies since at least 2014 (got curious but not curious enough to go back more than a decade). One of his kids recently went 100% no contact with him once she hit 18, changed her first name to something normal, and kept her mother’s last name. She absolutely despises him. Forcing your opinions and views on a vulnerable kid is never a good idea. As adults, you have seen the world and formed your own thoughts based on your experiences.
For instance, if the parents belong to the science field, they shouldn’t burden their son or daughter with picking the same stream. You shouldn’t pressure them. Show some trust and faith and let them make their own choice.

From what I understand, isn’t it just the idea of a society without money where everything is shared? In saying that though, all the countries that claim to be communist are pretty much identical to the capitalist/western ones exept that both groups seem to hate each other for some reason.

USSR and USA fought a proxy war ( the cold war) and competed to ally other nations to their side, which has caused no end strife worldwide ( Afghanistan, Korea, Ukraine, most of South Ameria). So other side bad becomes communism is evil and capitalism is decadent.

Is the mother a junkie trying to get enough money for a fix? Because that’s what it sounds like. She wasn’t trying to sell the kid for one single trick, she was trying to sell her to someone forever. Disgusting s**t like this happens in the strata of society that is addicted to d***s and alcohol, and the addiction ends up being the only thing that matters to them—-more than their own children even. I once got my cat played dizzy. She just kept spinning after the butterfly-on-string toy that she ... actually, she loved that thing before me, yet, I made it, so ... well, she stumbled and fell on her side and has, since, always refused to turn around like a pole dancer when playing. Actually, it was kinda cute ... but I felt bad because I made her dizzy. Also, I somehow have the feeling that she's more weller cared for than most kids on this list, and deserves so regardless and anyway, anyway.
When you were little, influential adults in your life mostly included your family and adults at school. Teachers also influence the way children think. They help motivate students to discover their passions. Beyond imparting knowledge, they are also mentors for young, impressionable minds.

I watched The Lovely Bones, a movie in which a young girl is (spoilers) brutally murdered (they left the rape in the book implied). And some goddamn IDIOT had brought a little girl with her who couldn't have been any older than NINE. The only slightly good thing this fool did was quietly ask the kid "are you okay with this", and then leave when the kid finally said no.

Common Sense Media is very strange. When I want to watch a movie on Netflix, I google it first, and often it comes up with a rating from Common Sense Media. For a movie that was not suitable for children, there was a review similar to this.

They are cousins, not siblings. And while it gives surely a little incestuous vibe, it is/was common in a lot of cultures. If they aren't coming from a heavily inbred family (unlikely, or they wouldn't have discovered it just now), at least genetically their children should be fine. And for the psychological aspect, if they truly love each other, with some help and therapy, they can overcome it.

Being cousins isn't a big deal, it's common in many parts of the world. In the long run, generation after generation it will have bad effects, but 1 couple once in a while isn't gonna have a big impact. And I think the word 'incest' should be reserved for people who actually grow up in a family bond, I think when 2 people are strangers and only later find out they are technically cousins, it isn't incest. But when 2 people grow up in the same family but are not technically family, like step siblings or 1 child is adopted, then it should be called incest in my opinion.
