My giant baby sits on my lap at the vet and leans into me as hard as he can so he melds into my body and can't be recognized as a separate being, lol
If you ever do Zori, just remember that feeding one is a major investment. Also remember, what goes in also comes out the other end, lol! That's just one more reason why I love shih-tzus.

I am so grateful to my vets' for being so good with my dogs that they just love going to see them. Our last dog and the one we have now was/is always excited to go down there and when we say to them "come on, we're going the vets they get as excited as they would if we were going the the beach or the woods. The vets we have are brilliant. They treat all their patients like individuals and as if they were their own pet. They show genuine love and care towards them every time they see them and even play with them and give them treats. The best way to stop your pet from being upset at the vets' is to bring them in when they're not sick. When they need to get tablets for worming and fleas they will need to be weighed to get the right dosage or even just a quick check-up that doesn't require shots. That way the dog (or cat) will see the vet and if the vet is a good one and the most of them are he will make that experience a positive one for your pet so they won't be afraid of them
Some dogs just don't like to be handled in certain ways. My dog likes her vet, and likes his office. I don't have to trick her to get her to go there, and we don't go by car, she has to walk there, and she does. But she still isn't quite so thrilled about getting on the table to be examined. She lets him, and isn't afraid, but she doesn't like it.

Beautiful nose btw, looks like it was not easy getting corgi out of the car - tip - much easier to sweep (in your head it is sweep but actually stumble and drag) your dog off the seat than attempt the clutch pick lift out up out and through move necessary to just to get dog out of car.

My Dog Is A Little Scared Of The Vet
Hugging your dog when they're scared is actually a bad thing to do. It rewards and reassures their fear, and makes them more afraid. It's really hard, but we gotta resist. I have to deal with this a lot, my dog is easily scared, but she got over a lot of things with a little push. Best thing to do is show them you're calm and there's nothing to be afraid of, and try to distract them with fun.

Right one is for sure. The other one looks a little like an Australian shepherd because of his coat colour but he must be a border collie too, for he's got a tail.
Load More Replies...Oh, you can't hide *anything* from border collies. They know the word "vet." They understand when you spell "v-e-t." They'll give you the judgy eye when you say, "You know where." They're smarter than your kids: you can't win with border collies. :p

Sad beyond sad resignation and stressed out corgi. Hope you wheeled out the sherry when you got home
Sherry is wine. Wine is the most toxic of all alcoholic beverages (for dogs, of course). It also contains grapes, and just one grape can kill a dog. Add alcohol, your dog is pretty much dead. Think before you comment.
Load More Replies...Cute pictures and beatiful dogs, but I really don't like to see all these dogs sitting completely loose in the cars. They should sit in a cage in the trunk or in special safety belt for dogs. In case of an accident, the dog is totally unprotected and could even fly out of the windshield. You would never let your baby sit totally lose in the car, would you?
I totally agree! Every animal should be secured in the car.
Load More Replies...My dog has never been scared or not wanting to go to the vet. The last time I took him was because, when I got home from work, he wouldn't stop coughing and vomiting all over the place. As soon as we got to the vet's office, he was so happy he was cured of all ailments. He's nuts.
What kind of Vets do these dogs go to? All my pets have loved the Vet!
I have a golden who loves going to the vets. As soon as I open the car door, Seth can't get out fast enough and will drag me to their door. As soon as he's weighed, he'll hightail it around the receptionist's desk to see who's there. Seth's in a lifetime golden cancer study and has to have a rather long yearly exam which is coming up in a few weeks. Except for having to fast for 12 hours, he's a happy camper as I hand over the tote containing his food and dish then the leash. Why, he doesn't even give me a backwards glance! He's not called Silly Seth for nothing! What a love.
Golden Retrievers love people and love being handled, so they're usually like that. My brother's Golden is like that too, while their other dog is a lot more nervous about the vet.
Load More Replies...All the more reason to have "well pet" visits.Your pet gets to go to the vet for a quick, non invasive exam, the vet gets to see your animal in a healthy moment and knows them better. Pets get a treat, lots of petting, sweet talking and a happy departure. Then, when they're sick or injured, going to the vet doesn't add to their distress since it's a good place to them and the vet can quickly see the changes to your animal. Sadly, most people don't do these quick visits because they resent paying for the welfare of their family member, when it can actually save you BOTH in the long run. It made a HUGE difference for my lil guy and he was always happy to go and see the cheerful people there. When he wasn't feeling well, or had an injury he knew they were there to help him.
My Dobermans have always been fine going to the vets. When they are young we take periodic trips to the vets to get weighed. And of course the staff fusses over them and gives them cookies. Vets are fun! One of my Dobies, when told we were going to see the vet in the morning, would to use me at the crack of dawn. The vet had taught him to balance cookies on his nose and catch them mid air! Vets are fun!
