Load More Replies...Yep, I thank God for the doctor. And the nurses and the hospital staff. I don't believe God just waves a magic wand and fixes everything.
Why not??? He certainly did it before, right? Why can't he do it anymore? He ran out of mana???
Load More Replies...As a Christian, my parents taught my brother and I to thank God for the Doctor and that he/she has the skills and training to be a doctor, that they took their time and ability to studdy to be a doctor. I was in and out of the hospital a lot as a kid and was always encourage to thank medical staff.
Unless a god taught the doctor the skills, there is nothing to thank god for. There never is as no god has ever done anything for us.
Load More Replies...If I were a doctor, I would change my name to God just to confuse the patients.
I once had a neurosurgeon called Doctor Mort, so basically Doctor Death, he didn’t find it funny when I called him that...no sense of humour at all
Load More Replies...Some people don't know where to direct their gratitude. A mortal human does all the work, an imaginary Sky Daddy gets the credit. And that's the same Sky Daddy who did nothing to prevent the Holocaust.
To one of my surgeons when he told me the surgery was a success, I said, "Thank God!" He replied, "Thankyou, you're welcome" then blew on his fingernails and walked off. I love that guy!
Yeah. And when the neighbour's kid dies from measles because they didn't have their own children vaccinated, then they will surely blame the doctors ... Belief goes along with opinion, knowledge is something altogether different.
I’m a Christian and I thank both God and the doctor. After all,it was the doctor who laboriously performed the operation. But we thank God for his blessing as well for providing a skilled doctor and allowing a good outcome.
God is the one who gave the doctor the skills he needed to perform the surgery,so yes you need to thank God
Oh, you mean the doctor created by God? I don’t have a problem thanking that doctor as well as God!
Well that makes sense. I guess the doctor just pulled his 'purpose" out of his a*s. keep dreaming.
in the situation when many of my coleagues (docs) are saying - medicine is a normal job-we do our work and get the money.. not to get too involved it seems just fair to pay the doc and thank God. Though I like it too when the patient thanks me (then I thank God for his help)
That's true. But if the surgery doesn't go perfectly, the patient blames the doctor, not God.
My Surgeon is Hindu and wears cool red rimmed glasses. I always thank him.
I am a strong Christian, but when I had stints put in I asked God to guide the surgeon's hand. But the Doctor is my new BFF for saving my life.
I don't see the problem here. Christian's believe that "we can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." They believe with God all things are possible, including surgery so I can't like this meme sorry.
So... Christians are d***s who don't give people credit for their own accomplishments because God did it?
Load More Replies...Doctor gets hug money, he gives a s**t to patient- if patient die, still he gets the same money
If it was proven that the doctor messed up they have to go to court usually.
Load More Replies...Because God guides the surgeons hands so thanking Go would be appropriate.
That's cute, but no it was the 12+ years of intense medical training the surgeon paid millions of dollars for.

When your parents are Christian doctors so the “Thanking God only” memes don’t make sense... dw, we always make sure to thank the doctors as well. After all, they did perform the operation
Well, some religious people don't give the doctor any credit.
Load More Replies...Ha! Didn't know dark humour was allowed here :P While normally I'm not a big fan of it, some of those made me laugh out loud and it does actually make a refreshing break from all the "and it went viral" "and the pictures will change your life forever" "it will make your heart beat faster" "people can't believe their eyes" "the internet is in awe" etc around here. Dark humour has its place as long as it's not intentionally malicious and you don't take it too seriously.
This is spot on. I appreciate you taking the time to put this out there. Everyone sees things in their own way, and some see this as just completely inappropriate, but it is not done with malice. If there is no malice and it can help someone laugh about the problems they have then it is dark humor. Sometimes dark humor helps. Others it doesn't.

I feel like I have permission to laugh at these because of my medical problems...
I found quite some of them disrespectful to ill people and in general to not medical staff. They all live in XIX century, where other places you hear people telling each other "hello, doctor", "how are you, doctor?", "well, doctor",...
Natural Herbs have cured so many sickness and diseases that drugs and injection cant cure. I've seen the great importance of natural herbs and the wonderful work they have done in people's lives. i read people's testimonies online on how they were cured of Herpes,Stroke,Hiv,gonorrhoea, Diabetics,Cancer,Lyme disease etc by Dr. Ameola herbal medicine, so i decided to contact the doctor because i know nature has the power to heal anything. I was diagnosed with Herpes for the past 8 years but Dr. Ameola cured me with his herbs and i referred my aunt and her husband to him immediately because they were both suffering from Hiv and they were cured too. I know is hard to believe, but am a living testimony. There is no harm trying herbs. In some european countries we are also fighting against the word that medical stuff give to the people that go there: patients???!!!! Well, it's a word that mean "waiter" and we are smart active people, not a thing athat only stands there and wait when a "doctor" can touch him/her, ask whatever and do WHATEVER without asking before nor explaining everything and giving options. Is this staff who is working for us.
Which part of Europe are you from? Patients are different from patience, it is not the same word! In the parts of Europe I live and have visited, most people are extremely grateful to medical staff for their hard work in difficult circumstances. I have never experienced anything like your description of standing like a piece of furniture while a doctor does “whatever” - that’s NOT normal!

If it's absurd to be grateful to God for a successful operation, because your gratitude should all go to the doctor, than by the same reasoning, it's absurd to be grateful to the factory workers who built your new car, because your gratitude should all go to the salesman who handed you the keys.
Pretty certain this would be considered a fallacy if you posed this argument in a debate.
