There was this girl in my class who had a strong American accent purely from watching too much tv as a kid. Nobody in her family or friends group were American.
I'd seen a child like that, too. Ignored by her parents, she learned to speak by watching cartoons.

I'd love to hear this so called "British" accent because Americans are dead awful at doing any accent.
Most adults are dead awful at accents because our brains stop hearing nuances in language beyond a certain age. It's why you can tell someone how to pronounce your name 57 times and they still get it wrong.

Fun Fact - you can have a British Accent and not be from England by growing up in one of the other countries in The UK. England and Britain are not synonymous
British accents, mouth breathing and lip smacking are the three most annoying sounds imo. I'm fine with any other accents.
Reminds me of "Better Off Dead" with the two brothers..one speaks no english and the other learned to speak English by watching Howard Cosell.

I got a British accent from watching the Chronicles of Narnia ONE TIME when I was younger. I can still do it to this day.
Come to United Arab Emirates, loads of non-native speaker people here have American or British accent cz of the movies or teachers in schools..
