Pet cats have their own little quirks, one being the ability to slip into the most unusual places around the house. Before you know it, you’re finding your furry feline friend balled up in a small cardboard box under your bed.
Many cat owners have since documented these funny episodes and shared them in a subreddit called “The Cat Trap Is Working.” Scrolling through the page, you’ll see photos and videos of house cats in fish tanks, on top of clothes, and cozily snuggled in the kitchen sink.

If you notice your cat’s seeming fixation with cardboard boxes, Dr. Roth says it’s another way for them to channel their predatory instincts. But in this case, they prefer the texture of cardboard’s surface to run their claws onto.
As Dr. Roth explains, it’s all about satisfying their urges to scratch something, which they will either hold onto or dispose of.

My cat (Shadow Von Dickel because well he is a pain in the butt..) will kick out out all my drawers to find the one he wants. That and he steals my sons socks out of the drawer.

A cat’s bodily structure also allows them to squeeze through tight spaces. As the Maryland-based Catonsville Cat Clinic explains, a feline’s shoulder blades are attached to their bodies by muscles, not bones, making it easier for them to contort.
These features also give them an evolutionary advantage. As International Society of Feline Medicine head Nathalie Dowgray explained to Live Science in an interview, cats' ability to fit into tiny crevices allows them to hunt small prey while enabling them to hide from potential predators.

I always used a laundry basket my way of transporting my bunnies to the vet. They never saw it as a threatening object, so I could just plop them in there, attach a towel with alligator clips over the top, and no trauma or chasing needed. Also, no need to store a bulky carrier in my small apartment.

I have a black cat and a black and white one roaming around the area I live. They won't let them me get close to them. I think they are supposed to be a neighbors cat. They look well fed but I don't think she let's them inside her house. Been thinking buying some cat food or snacks to see if I can get them to let me get close to them.

We received a Polish crystal bowl as a wedding present. Our void made it his home until he outgrew it. Never understood why the big sofa, love seat, king size bed, several cat beds weren’t comfy enough. That darn crystal bowl was his favorite spot.

I love that expensive trap and I'm sure my older cat would too!! I think if they swapped the expensive trap and the box position and turned the opening of the expensive trap toward the window it would get used

After we got our 2 from a rescue I found out that I couldn't just put frozen meat in the sink and water to defrost. I had to cover it with a sheet pan and put the cutting board over that. Bender still managed to pull the plastic off.

We had a Moses basket which one of our cats decided it was his. After our son was born I put it on the little stool in front of me with a blanket over it. Boris, the high-end strong one-we had the give him some tranks when we brought the baby home, decided he would jump into the basket. I think he hit 6' after realizing the baby was in it. After he learned you don't pull ears or tails, Boris was the first in his lap.

Set up the Christmas tree and stretched out a tree skirt at the base. 5 minutes later a four pawed fluffy gift had already set base there. Now we can’t place the gifts under the tree cause it’s her new “bed”. However, she never attacks the tree like the Internet kitties so I’ll give her credit for that!

At what age does a cat trap begin to work? My 3 mo old recent adoptee doesn't stay put anywhere for long enough to type an email. And I'm sure you all know how difficult it is to type with one hand while holding a squirming kitten in the other.

Zoomie kittens are much harder to trap. Have patience though, it will pay off. It took me about 5 months to trap my youngest!!!my 1st successful trapping involved a suitcase which he later claimed as his bed, ignoring the fancy bed I had bought him!!!
