30 Beautifully Illustrated Facts That Show How Incredible Our World Is
Interview With ArtistThese two young people from Singapore are taking the internet by storm with their gorgeous illustrations featuring fun and interesting facts. With both on a mission to make learning more entertaining than ever, the creatives behind the project Just Keep Thinking already have more than 70k fans from all over the world. We're hoping that after seeing this list of their illustrations, you'll become one of them, too.
One of the co-founders of the Just Keep Thinking project—Raye—told Bored Panda: "MJ, co-founder of the channel and host of our videos, came from a life science background, while I've been working in content/social media for a few years."
"One day, she was explaining to me about random wildlife facts when we were traveling and she sparked a real want to learn in me that I haven't felt since I was a kid. That inspired me to create a channel that amplifies her excitement for science and wildlife, and we hope more people will be able to feel the joy of learning through it," Raye explained to us.

"They should all be protected, regardless of their 'colour'". This should apply to people! :-)
When I went to Africa (Tanzania), I told our guide that I wanted to see a black rhino. He said that the area we were going to didn’t have any. Well, later that day we saw a black rhino AND her baby! So thrilling. Save the rhinos. And elephants, and all of the wild animals!
why because they have different colors mena that one is crittically endagered when the other one wasnt?
How many people are working on Just Keep Thinking? "Currently it's just MJ and I, with support from some friends in the industry once in a while," Raye tells us.
"I always knew there was a demand for such content in Singapore, but I just didn't expect some of our posts to go so viral," Raye revealed to Bored Panda. "I started out wanting our channel to fill that edutainment content void in the country, but we managed to get quite a number of overseas followers as time went by. I guess science is a universal language."
What a horrific death, Coronavirus. But better you than me, dude.
I know a lot of people are thinking why not feed infected people soap.
Load More Replies...I knew this, but I think this comic is so brilliantly explained. 👍 It’s funny and true. 👏 Wash your hands. 🧼 💦 🖐 🤚
It would work if every single person in the world washed their hands at the same time and then each 100% quarantined for 1 month.
This is an excellent explanation of how a virus is denatured with blocks of soap. The blocks contain fats that liquid soaps does not. Therefore solid soap should be used.
Please do one about viruses and why, you cannot cure them! But also vaccines to prevent them. And why corona virus is like HIV, you can’t cure it, but you can treat it and get the viral load down to undetectable.
Then the soap is pumped through civic water pipes that reliably leak all over the place, leaching soap out into the environment and doing the same thing to microbial life everywhere. And considering that this is just one of dozens and dozens of uses of soaps, then it doesn't take much imagination to understand the damage that is being done. Brilliant!!! Now, if soaps were limited to important uses, such as perhaps the one described above, then that would be a different story. But they're not. They're encouraged even in the most unnecessary situations. Multiply that by a majority of more than 7 billion, plus industry, and there's a potentially huge problem. And no one ever thinks about it. And you'll read this and continue using soaps in unnecessary ways and causing this damage on an epic scale, just as you understand how money is generated, and chasing it, where petrol comes from and who gets rich from it and purchasing it, and all the other things we do that are problematic and known.
Why? Because your human, which means that you're vain and that you feel a need to fit in, and that is tendency is predated upon.
Load More Replies...Soap does not kills virus. it purely dislodges it form your skin and it floats away when rinsing.
Both MJ and Raye are always thinking of new ideas. "A lot of the time, it's really just questions that intrigued us as we go through our day-to-day life," Raye told Bored Panda. "Most of the time, as we delve into researching these questions, some inspiration will spring up, some get turned into image posts while others become videos."
"Our bread-and-butter content revolves around life science, wildlife, and biology," the co-founder of Just Keep Thinking told us. "Personally, I'm a tech person, so I have been testing out a few posts on applied science and physics, but those are pretty much still in development."
They are the best contraceptive. Wear them, and you will never get laid. Except if you only do it for gardening.
Load More Replies...There is a reptile like the gharial but it is not related to crocodiles which I find very interesting since they look very similar
Talking about the near future, Raye revealed: "We plan on collaborating with more people, creating more content to simplify science so people will enjoy learning just a bit more. We do have some ideas for expansion when we hit certain numbers, but those ideas are still pretty early in the baking process, so there really isn't anything solid I can share with you at the moment."
if you use too much peroxide it will destroy the hair. be careful.
A few years ago there was an article in the news about how a medication, that was being tested for vitiligo, had the surprising side effect of reversing gray hair. At the time, scientists were supposedly looking into it further for a possible means of 'recoloring' hair. I had high hopes but I haven't heard anything about it since.
So i have a special thing where I don't have a blind spot my eye doctor told me this when i got glasses
Uhhh yeah this didn't really work lol that black dot never disappeared no matter where I moved the screen
Just like my GF? A candy dispenser with a toilet? Well, it could be useful.
pitcher plants also secrete a sweet but VERY slippery syrup that attracts ants! So when the ants go to the "lip" of the pitcher plant to eat it, they fall in the pitcher, where the digestive juices start digesting the ants. Since the pitcher plant also has little tiny hair that point downwards, the ants can't crawl out of the pitcher. One enough ants have fallen in, the pitcher plant makes the syrup not slippery, so the ants can bring the syrup to their colony and feed on it. Because of this, the ants recognize the pitcher plant as a food source. A few ants are sacrificed to feed the whole colony so both organisms win!
wait wait wait. if the ladies eat the men, what happens to Enby folk? OoO
Load More Replies...They can also fixate on people. Don't know why but I've had 3 I've randomly had with me and they stick around for up to a week each time. One hung out on my car I named her Diablo, she was fun and most of the people I worked with went out and took pictures with her. She just vanished one day after 7-8 days of being outside my window, my door, on my car when I went to work, and repeat.
I put one in with my tree frogs and it tried to eat them - had one by the back leg one day so the PM went back out side.
I hate it that the Chinese kill them for their folk medicine. Large jars filled with dried sea horses.
I love all of the images so far <3 But the leg thing isn't entirely accurate I think, we have Pelophylax species in Europe. Definitely frogs, but they do have thunder thighs and can jump pretty far. The one on the picture here is more of a tree frog.
I keep seeing ppl talk about animal farm, is it a new game, is it good?
Load More Replies...All of them. I lived in Arizona and we went “scorpion hunting” with a UV light.

macadamia mylk is delicious imo. tastes like graham cracker. it is expensive though.
"Extravagant toxicity", as the writer Bill Bryson describes it. No-one knows why its lethal sting is so deadly, considering the small size of its normal prey. Quite literally overkill.
All they can do to treat you is support care, fluids pain meds, and steroids / anti inflammatories, until the venom is gone.
yep. very addictive as is everything that is salted egg yolk flavoured. it's like crack.
Load More Replies...But here come Waxworm to the rescue! Not good for our honey bee's as they invade the nest, but great food for our lizards and the enzymes in their bellies break down plastic into an alcohol substance. Now how to find a way to create this enzyme to break down our plastic.
actually, there is a type of beetle grub that we have discovered to eat plastic bags :D <3
What's the alternative? Paper causes deforestation, uses much more energy and water, and requires much more transportation and storage, plus gets reused less. Reusables have to be used dozens and dozens of times each or they're the worst of all, plus people dont' wash them so they harbour germs. There's a reason grocery stores banned them during covid times.
the alternative is to use random s**t around your house, like baskets, or just, oh idk, carry the items in your arms : l it really ain't that complicated
Load More Replies...You know what's actually really hurting the environment right now? Masks. Tons of them are being found on beaches and oceans.
Uh ... wait a minute ... pure PE does only contain C and H atoms, so burning them will not produce toxic gases - but ... but most plastic stuff isn't made of PE only, often contains different additives for colour or other properties/features. Use those you already have as long as possible - once they are produced, the damage is determined to happen (if not disposed of properly), so it won't add to this if you keep using them as long as they do their job. But don't replace them - always have a bag designed to be used multiple times on you. One of the things to learn from eastern germans ... they always had one on them because maybe there would be something on sale that is rarely available, so they wouldn't need to buy anything to carry home the oranges or ginger roots or whatever rare item they found on their way.
So, why is there no hole in the German Krapfen then, they are prepared in the same way.
Because they are filled. And because ... uh ... uh ... because Krapfen haben keine Löcher!

oh that's a reference to the body anime :D Can't remember what it's called off the top of my head, though
Rabies - once symptoms appear the result is "always nearly death". So you don't die you just nearly die?
Only the last sentence in small print actually answers the question "Why is there so much air in my potato chips" -- it's to protect them during transportation. They could put less nitrogen in the bags and still get the same benefit from nitrogen, but need to put more than is needed for extra protection.
They aren't made from slices of potato. They are a combination of water, potato flakes and corn starch. Ingredients are mixed together then rolled into a flat potato sheet under pressure. Potato paste or slices of potato... know which I would choose...
Load More Replies...yeah I didn't need to be ruined from turtles like that. time to hit up that unsee juice...
I beg to differ on the "non violent" bit. The canada spawn around here always seem to be angry about something, regardless of what season it is :-\
We had a grouchy gander when I was young, Fred, He used his "not quite teeth" to thoroughly pinch us ;-) He was still a cool goose.
I have never heard of fried goreng pisang, but if you deep fry bananas that sounds really good!
Another way to tell is that alligators only exist in North America and China so if your not in either of those places it is not an alligator.
The squeezing through everything part is weird but true. They can squeeze thru tubes a third of their size and even less! (well, depending on the beak)
To fall in love with the octopus read "Soul of an Octopus" by Sy Montgomery. Especially charming in audiobook.
Once I found out how intelligent they are, I stopped eating them. They are actually our Alien Overlords.
I recommend the book Children of Ruin (but you might want to read Children of time first)
In the eastern countries, they are raised as pets and used as entertainment in beetle fights. Bets are placed on which beetle would win
I still wanna squish em even if you tell me not to (chubby cheeks)
I've seen that show so many times bc when and my brother and I were watching Netflix he would always choose that show. he was like 10 y/o at the time.

Jackfruit?? Durian and jackfruit are two completely different fruits. Wonder what culture you’re referring to. Not trying to criticize, just curious how the mixup happens.
