40 Times People Noticed These Instagrammers Who Heavily Photo-Edit Their Pictures And Exposed Them Online (New Pics)
Although everyone's been talking about the harm of social media to our mental health and are no longer taking everything that’s shared there for granted, photo editing apps are still in the game. And it seems like they won’t be going away any time soon.
A survey has found that a whopping 71% of social media users admit they edit their selfies before uploading. The percent is likely much bigger, since many Instagrammers tend to hide that fact from their audiences. Even if their pics speak louder than words...
So today we’re taking a look at some of the influencers that pushed the limits of fakery to a whole new level. Thanks to the subreddit “Instagram Reality,” which states that "It's unbelievable how some people get away with it while others don't!" we have quite a collection to look at and who knows, it may just put you off from Photoshop.
Psst! Check out our previous posts on Instagram vs reality pics here, here and here.

Previously we spoke to the head moderator of r/Instagramreality nicknamed Zaza9000, shared some insights into the widely popular subreddit with 1M members. It turns out that recently, there's been more interest in video editing than photo editing, for instance. "Especially apps like Facetune2 and SNOW that allow you to edit your body and certain Instagram filters that can make your lips appear bigger and make your skin unrealistically perfect. Seeing them glitch in videos has been a really popular topic on the sub," they explained.

What is more, some Instagrammers go as far as faking their lifestyles just to get followers, so it’s not only looks that receive an extreme dose of “editing.” The moderator explained: “for us non-influencer, regular people, of course, travel isn't always an option, especially if it's just for a vacation away. Unfortunately, there have been a few influencers that don't care, to be blunt. Some of them feel like traveling and being on vacation is necessary and well-deserved even though people in the medical field, teachers, retail workers, etc. don't get to just jump on a jet and get away."

It’s no secret that addiction to social media has become a grim reality for many of these Instagrammers who desperately fake their entire lives. However, for a person to be addicted to anything means that the thing they're addicted to has taken over their lives, and that they as individuals have lost the power of choice.
“This is the effect that addiction has, it robs the individual of the ability to stop. Even if that individual is aware of the negative physical, psychological, or financial consequences, they still cannot stop. It is essential to not use the word 'addiction' flippantly; if a person is addicted, then they are in need of professional help and support," Albuquerque, the Head of Treatment for the UKAT Group, explained to Bored Panda. According to them, nobody should throw around the term “addiction” around that easily, although it’s clear that many Instagrammers fall into the category that defines this diagnosis.

Hairdresser Uses Weird Eye Filter On All Her Clients
Odd filter, but can we just say how amazing her hair looks?
What difference does this one make? Unless the hairdresser is attempting to sell eyes does it matter what filter she uses on them?
This may just be for privacy purposes. If it's only a hairdresser ad, it may be so that the hair is the main focus. Not working though.
Honestly my first thought was facial recognition/privacy filters but more appealing than a stripe. As long as the hair isn't impacted by any filters or editing it doesn't matter either.

She doesn't look that good. She looks old and puffy and as if she's drunk or high. If she would just dress her age and use makeup that suits her face, she'd look fine, but with this... not so much, not without photoshop.

Known Her For 12 Years And Saw Her Just The Other Day... Don't Remember Her Looking Like This
I'm proud of Bored Panda for including males in these articles. Something in the past they did not. Bravo.
I'm disturbed that so many think this is needed. Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and other insecurities are on show here and it's not good that so many young girls go along with it. I get the tweeking and hiding a pimple or little things (who doesn't hate pimples) but this is too much and it worries me.
I won’t negatively comment on any of these. It just highlights how deeply insecure some people are about their appearance, living in a truly hellish world
Yeah. I would have roast them, but I'm too nice to say something rude

There is nothing to expose here. These pics are ridiculously unrealistic and quite obviously phony.
The majority of these people are mentally ill. Shaming is not going to help.
Weirdly, I just get mad at people like this. Yes, I get that they're insecure AF, but for the love of all that is natural, how TF can they look at the "adter" pics and think it looks natural or good? How can they think others won't notice? The stupidity runs rampant.
I didn’t really like this article, ok some of the images are so obviously photoshopped it can be seen as comical, but some are very subtle and all of them highlight the fact that these people are deeply unhappy with how they look and feel they can’t present themselves as their authentic selves online. Bored Panda is one of the only websites I see as producing wholly positive and affirming content and this article does not feel like it fits with Bored Panda’s ethos and outlook.
i agree that these people are unhappy with themselves, but i'm not sure what you mean by not fitting with BP's ethos and outlook. there have been many of this type of article posted before, along with posts making fun of or shaming things people say. most of them aren't positive or wholesome at all... (and yes, the old Bored Panda was mostly just about art and people's creations, but this shift in content has been going on for a while now)
Load More Replies...I can’t laugh at them. Some of these display such severe body dysmorphia that I just worry about their mental health.
I said it before, and I'll say it again: I want a horror movie about an insane plastic surgeon who kidnaps those fake Instagram posers, anesthetizes them and performs a couple of surgeries on them till they look exactly like the pictures they post. And then they just wake up one day in their own home, don't remember that they were kidnapped in the first place, and realize they cannot walk with those spider legs, or that a couple of organs are missing to achieve a tiny waist. Pretty please, Hollywood?
They would just post pictures of their perfect new look I reckon. There's a show called 'botched', mostly it's ppl who have had bad plastic surgery and want it fixed, but sometimes the doctors meet ppl who have already gone too far and are still wanting more. They won't do it, they just give them a graphic warning if what could happen if they get it done by another Dr, and question any Dr that would willingly do it. Sadly many walk away determined to get the surgery regardless. I like your idea, I just think that should be a horrifying twist: that they didn't get the message "Thank u guardian angel, u gave me the body I always wanted #dieyoung #27 club". Ok and now I'm creeped out 😅
Load More Replies...Holy crap but why? Any one with eyes can see those are fake so what is the effin point?
It is so sad, when you see so many women trying to look like Barbie, who were not exactly beautiful.
I just find it incredibly sad that these people have such insecurity and obvious self image issues. They all look ridiculous.
