For one reason or another, many people feel the need to edit their pictures before uploading them online. And when they do, they might get carried away with their tools, usually resulting in pics that are worse than the original.
If you’ve seen some of such examples of editing-gone-wrong, you probably know that they can look quite creepy. They can also be hilarious. Today you get to judge which are which for yourself, as on the list below we have gathered quite a few examples of people overediting their pictures. What a strange scenario. She’s trying to look sexy.. but has vacuum cleaner in background. And who’s the guy in the pink?
Unfortunately, many people don’t feel comfortable in their own skin. Some studies estimate that as much as 20% to 40% of women are dissatisfied with their bodies, as are 10% to 30% of men.
For those who are not that fond of their looks, some moments or situations can be particularly uncomfortable. An Ipsos poll found that dissatisfaction regarding people’s bodies was most prevalent when they were looking in the mirror, spending time at the beach in a bathing suit, or shopping for clothes, respectively.
The survey also found that more than a quarter of respondents were dissatisfied with how they looked when trying on old clothes they haven’t worn in a while. Roughly 14% admitted to feeling bad when comparing themselves to images of people they see on social media, to other people at the gym or workout classes (13%), or to TV and movie actors and actresses (11%).

Yes, she does look like that. It's actually really sad, because she was actually really pretty before she started this "metamorphosis" of sorts. Now, she just looks like an Oompah Loompa with big Muppet teeth. The rest of her body is just as sad. Her repeated boob jobs have made them look like basketballs, and they barely move, when she does. There are some serious mental health concerns about her, for sure. It's probably too late to repair what she's done, but not too late to get her help from making her look worse.

Load More Replies...According to the aforementioned Ipsos poll, for Americans, a “perfect” body is one that is athletic, whether it’s a man or a woman. Second on the list, though, is the so-called “dad bod,” showing that not everyone is obsessed with abs and flat stomachs.
However, a “dad bod” is only the second-most-preferred body type for men. As for women, being athletic is followed by being curvy on the list of “perfect” body types.
Unsurprisingly, not having a “perfect” body—which does not really exist—tends to push quite a few people to edit their pictures.

When talking about ways to combat such comments and learn to love yourself as you are, adjunct professor of psychiatry and expert in dealing with body image issues, Dr. Cortney S. Warren, noted that there are many skills people can learn to combat body dissatisfaction and respond to unwanted appearance-related teasing.
Firstly, you can choose to respond to negative appearance-related commentary from others by setting boundaries. “Walk away, clearly state that you hearing negative comments about your appearance isn’t healthy for you, or share that it hurts you,” Warren suggested.

To be fair, that picture on the left is very unflattering. She's had to deal with her body being constantly scrutinised for over a decade, made to believe she was obese when she was actually very slim. She's had to deal with loosing a child, her second daughter died at only 2 days old. I think people need to lay off her.

Don’t be mean! I rented with an ‘influencer’ ( amt of free stuff she was sent was insane) the tackiest cheap dresses. She would look like the right hand side picture, sans jacket, poses and got other flatmates to take pics. Looking like heading off for a glam night on the town. What an envious lifestyle! Nope, after pics, back into pJ’s and sofa and telly . But what’s so interesting is .. it’s a job. The creepy messages she’d get. The thing is she doesn’t want men who are attracted to her looking like that.. she just does it to get paid. Men I think may think this is what they actually look like .. send messages saying how beautiful and sexy they are thinking it’s a compliment. It’s safe to assume the unattainable beauty standards, which are often amplified by or praised on social media, have a lot to do with the way we feel about ourselves. So, it’s crucial to remember that many of the pictures we see online or on the TV have been edited, and the “perfect” person you see on the screen might not exist in real life.

This is a shame because if that's what she looked like when she was younger, she could still be beautiful if she added a colour to her hair and did her make-up with natural colours and a little bit of eyeliner.. Nowadays, media literacy is a crucial skill to have for people of all ages. But it might be especially important for young individuals, whose views of the world—and themselves—are still forming. And it comes as no surprise that, with the amount of time they often spend on social media, it tends to significantly influence their views, as well as their feelings.
A report by the Dove Self-Esteem Project, surveying girls aged 10 to 17, found that roughly half of them say that the toxic beauty advice they see on social media causes low self-esteem. Moreover, 56% say that they can’t live up to the beauty standards projected on social media. I think when we see all these posts on here what we are looking at is a peek into peoples psyches, what they wish they could look like. they ALL know thats not what they look like and somewhere they know people can tell that its fake but they sooo want to be someone else, look like someone else that they post these pics. its easy to make fun of them and say mean things but in the end its kind of sad. Sad that each of these people are not happy with who they are to such an extent that they use technology to create a fake version of there ideal.

That terrible skin with all of the acne and pimples is because they never start wearing make-up. It clogs up the pores!!! The face NEEDS to breathe once in a while! If they’re going to use filters they may as well just not wear make up and just put the filters straight on anyway. Let the face breathe and you won’t have as bad acne.

Eh, not necessary. Acne can depend on food, hormones and other stuff, not only makeup. I had bad breakout after returning from 3 month student exchange program in other country, where I ate cheapest available food, because it was that much more expensive. Later in my life my acne was disappearing only from strong antibiotics, but was gone after I had surgical menopause (though even birth control pills were not affecting these breakouts). I also have sensitive skin and tend to break out from some skin care products. I tend to wear very little makeup, though, because I simply can't be bothered to try and keep it perfect on my oily nose through all day.

When I was in uni.. 2000- the trend was Burberry handbag and to wear a size zero. It was all over the magazines . Now it’s having massive bottom. This actually looks like lipedema. It can be quite painful, and lead to other health conditions. With people who suffer from lipedema, even diet and exercise will not reduce the fat deposits in your thighs, hips, and butt. People will look otherwise healthy, but then have these enormous thighs and hips. Basically, I don't think this is photoshopped, she probably looks like this, and it probably isn't very comfortable.

This is not lipedema. I have a lot of obese family members and a few of them have lipedema. Even Stage 3 lipedema does not look like this. The weight of the adipose tissue eventually drags the overall shape down and this "bubble butt" shape cannot hold. Lipedema also shows evidence of cellulite early on. There's no way that she can have that body shape - fat simply doesn't deposit in this "inflated balloon under the skin" manner, even in lipedema. Fat deposits are heavy; gravity will pull them (and the skin) down. She's likely had both a Brazilian butt lift and extensive liposuction on her upper body so it looks slimmer compared to her grotesque lower body.

I thought this lady has Lipoedema and she does. This is a Connective tissue disease with adipose fat and lipids involvement, it's one of mine. It causes disproportionate body shape and particularly sits on the hips thighs and knees pads. It can also affect the upper body

I mean, this does look possible. I've met plenty of people with eyes that color, and if she knows how to use makeup to really bring it out, I could see that. Go to Lebanon, Turkey, Cypress, etc and you will meet a lot of people that look like this.

I also don't see this as too egregious. Definitely different lighting a a little touchups on the left. Maybe a little sculpting as well, but I'm not mad at this one.

this is 100% lighting and camera settings. look at how crisp the pic on the left looks then look closely at the right, the face is ever so slightly out of focus, so is where her upper arm is by her torso, you just cant compare the 2 pics when quality is different. did they brighten the left one to make it pop more probably and maybe elongate her a bit but the rest is posing, lighting, angle of pic (straight on vs downward angle) focus. its really apples to oranges.

I always start reading such posts all geared up to laugh at the vanity and poor photo editing skills and, by the end, I feel sorry for these people. How insecure, how deluded, must they be? It’s a sad commentary on dysmorphia and social media…. I wish I were meaner and could just laugh at them, but it makes me sad. Now excuse me whilst I go bandage my bleeding heart.

I'll only start feeling bad when they realise they can't meet people IRL because they look NOTHING like their online profile and then succumb to the real mental illnesses of anxiety and depression rather than just delusional narcissism.

It’s really sad that some are judging their own appearance and comparing it to digitally altered models. I tell my daughter that they don’t look like that in real life. Everyone has flaws. They just never show them on social media
