Loving how business owners & managers are starting to clap back at these idiots!
In Canada it gets rounded if it's not a multiple of 5 due to pennies no longer being produced
We use rounding in NZ too, our smallest coin value is 10c.
Load More Replies...Their mentality is "it's just a penny." Ok, it is just a penny, a penny here, 2 pennies there and at the end of the year the business is out $1000. To people with the "it's just a penny" mentality, I invite them to go home and drop a #57 gravel on the floor every time someone enters the house and don't move them for a year and see how things look at the end of the year.
Good Grief Exactly
Only spent $150 for 4 women & 3 kids?!? This place must be incredibly cheap or they are. Either way, that's hardly something I'd brag about, sweetie.
Thanks God, I'm working now in a business hotel, so very rare we have to deal with kids, mostly in summer holidays times. I was working in family/kids friendly hotels and restaurants too. It was a nightmare. And I'm already sick of the summer-time, knowing the business guests will be replaced by tourists. With kids.
And then there are the ones where the kids aren't really disruptive, it's the parents all cackling and carrying on like a bunch of hens laying eggs and to top it off they just have to bring all the presents into the restaurant and I even witnessed one with a huge balloon sculpture of Minnie Mouse. This abomination was over 6 feet tall. So they basically just took over one whole side of the restaurant, and this was a restaurant with no dividing walls.
You Get What You Ordered
FINALLY AN OWNER WHO TELLS A CUSTOMER THE ACTUAL TRUTH. (ok I know like half of these are that but let me be happy) "will you please open your eyes" "mind reading the stupid is not one of our skills."
Some customers develop a deep sense of entitlement, a belief that their wants and opinions should automatically take priority, because they’ve been conditioned to expect exceptional treatment. In today’s consumer culture, businesses compete fiercely for loyalty, dangling perks like free returns, 24/7 support, and personalized service.
While these offerings can delight genuine patrons, they also send an implicit message: “You’re always right, and we exist to cater to you.” Over time, some buyers internalize that promise too literally, expecting limitless accommodations without regard for fairness or feasibility.
Imagine Complaining About This…
Really?? Please leave your inane political tie-ins at home. Plenty of A-holes vote Dem, too
Load More Replies...No, they were told why they were being ignored when they got there. They still decided to leave a bad review. The customer was well aware this was special circumstances, and was just being heartless. Also, there's no way they didn't hear the falling to the floor and staff members shouting to get them help that would have immediately followed

Poor daughter, hopefully she gets a good school that can undo the damage done by having idiots for parents.
And not a single day of homeschooling! 🙅♂️
Load More Replies...It's typical that the people who complain about 5G are the people who wouldn't recognise it even if it fell on them.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't 5g panels installed perpendicular to the ground and solar panels mostly horizontal (while angled at the sun) to it?
WTF are 5G panels ?
Cause according to me a 5G tower looks like this media_145c...b5637.jpeg
Another Ramen Creep…
Being Mexican doesn’t matter, it’s the audacity and creepiness lmao
Load More Replies...Actually mate she said no because you're a creep and you're bothering her at work....
I had people at my school who were I think Metis (sort of half-first nations and half-european descent) and I would say something in response to their insult and they'd retaliate with "it's because I'm brown". I mean, do I respond with "Well you're only mad because you're neurotypical and I'm not"? Obviously not.
Since he said she said no because he was going ver 50, I'm guessing she actually said that to him. She doesn't need an argument, but there we are. Since he doesn't specify that she said it was because he's Mexican, I feel she didn't say that. If I was Mexican, that'd p!ss me off to no end, like... you're making up racism because you're bútthúrt?! Dude, there's ACTUAL racism in the world!
Social media and online review platforms amplify this dynamic. When one customer’s dramatic complaint earns swift apologies, compensation, and public sympathy, observers learn that complaining loudly, sometimes even dishonestly, can yield generous rewards. The viral nature of customer‑service callouts creates perverse incentives: a minor inconvenience becomes an opportunity to leverage maximum concessions.
Bystander Review
Oh, I have no experience, but I saw something, and misinterpreted it, and I'm in the RIGHT, obviously. Assuming is always dangerous. Have this even here on BP, when people knowing almost 0 about a subject, are eager to jump for judging and arguing about BS.
I'm a frequent commenter. As such, I suspect that I am guilty of "not knowing a thing" about the topic. Apologies to all, and I will try to be more careful.
Load More Replies...WTH! Who writes a review for something that had nothing to do with them? Let me spin this! I don't know YOU, but I can just tell you are emotionally and intellectually inferior by your post...

That would have been so much better if they'd contacted the company to ask about policy in this situation. I get their concern but handling it as a public Complaint is stupid
Where To Begin At This Kid's Play Area
Parents of kids like that always blame someone else. I’ve seen children with disabilities and diagnosed behavioural problem who behave better in public places than the kids whose parents think they can do no wrong.
Load More Replies...Some people should never have kods. And some people, mostly the same, should never vote. 80% they are the same.
Wonder what the heck happened here, and what is wrong with the parents?
Why Oh Why
Yes, and here's the recipe if you're interested: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sugar-free-lemon-drizzle-cake
Load More Replies...My dog had a very dodgy tummy for a few days. She didn't want to eat anything, but was drinking a reasonable amount. It was clear she was engaged in 'system clear out'. The first food she showed any interest in was a lemon drizzle cake, warm from the oven. We gave her a tiny bit, and she loved it. (This was before we learned citrus is not good for dogs.) We then moved on to poached chicken and plain rice.
Citrus in general is OK to give to dogs, as long as they don't eat the peels (can get lodged in their digestive tract).
Load More Replies...Feeding people food!!! Oh, shite! Wait till she learns about onions and garlic...
Well not this one I hope. Xylitol IS actually extremely toxic for dogs.
Load More Replies...As a result, entitlement flourishes, fueled by the perception that volume and visibility trump courtesy and goodwill. Personal psychology plays a role, too. Individuals with high levels of narcissism or low empathy are more likely to see service providers as faceless tools rather than fellow humans.

Omfg, I have seen examples f someone saying that they hate racism and someone else acting like it’s a personal attack
I wonder how this person feels about the “do not enter if wearing a face mask” signs.
I'm Dying Lmao
I'm surprised, that it came out somerhing pizza-like after all of these.
Load More Replies...When my son was about 12 I sent him out for a pizza (it was normal where we lived in the 80s and the alternative was leaving him in charge of the baby ) and he had the brilliant idea of carrying it under his jacket to keep both him and the pizza warm. When we opened the box all the pizza had settled at one end and all the oils had soaked into his clothes. I blamed myself for not going myself and him for not considering gravity but I didn’t realised I could just blame the takeaway!
Alright, I'm probably going to get downvoted but if you, as an owner/manager want to shame someone online (which in this case is highly justified) just use proper grammar and actual spelling. Sorry, it’s a mad pet peeve of mine.
Don't Be A Creep
"A girl didn't like that I made her uncomfortable and she needs to get used to people making her uncomfortable" FFS I apologize for the other people who are of identifying as my gender (Not everyone just people like this bozo who I really think deserves to be given a death Saint Olga of Kiev would be proud of)
I now have to look up St Olga of Kiev! I suspect that BP would probably censor most of it
Load More Replies...The way the guy is saying "I will never go back" as if that is in any way doing the place a disservice rather than the complete opposite.
The name of the poster is being censored here, but I hope the bar/restaurant took note and banned him from the establishment anyway. And other similar businesses should take note.
I seriously hope the business responded to this review and ripped him a new one
My 16 year old niece recently experienced something similar. She’s a hostess at a bar and grill. They had a middle aged regular who constantly stared at her breast and hung around the hostess stand to ask her inappropriate questions. One night, he invited her to his place once her shift was over. She turned him down and reminded him she’s only 16. He said that’s the age of consent in most states. The manger overheard the entire conversation and noticed my niece was visibly scare and uncomfortable. He kicked out the regular and banned him from the place. The regular decided to leave a Yelp review basically telling people to avoid the restaurant because the hostess is an ungrateful c**k tease.
That guy is disgusting! Good on that manager though, most of the time they either don't care, are perverts themselves, or would expect the girl to play along to make more money.
Load More Replies...They view every interaction through the lens of what they can extract, discounts, freebies, upgrades, rather than what reciprocal respect demands. For them, the customer‑is‑always‑right mantra becomes a license to bully or manipulate, because they feel no obligation to consider the stress and cost their demands impose on employees.
15 Minute Wait For Food Is Too Long
15 minutes waiting time? That's for ordering a Club sandwich. If you want anything more complex, you have to wait.
I Think People Are That Stupid
The idea would never have occurred to me. Bc it's obnoxious, entitled and literally makes no sense. They are a store not a moving company? Should I dig up the makers of my antique furniture and demand them relocate as well?
I bought some take out food the other day, ate it at home and threw the container out. Why isn’t the restaurant coming to take my kitchen trash outside? In my opinion all that restaurant does is cook and sell food. Don’t expect anything else after that 😂😂
Load More Replies..."They sold us some nice ground beef, but two days later when we were hungry they refused to help us cook hamburgers even after we offered to pay for it. So in our opinion alllllll they do is sell groceries. don't expect any else after that."
"We bought a bed, and when we moved, we asked them to do something they had no obligation to do. so in our opinion, all they do is their job. dont expect any else (I cant fix that grammar) after that
I tried really hard to come up with a comment, but this is just so far out there that I give up...
Several years after we bought it, we need to move a very heavy bed from one room to another so It could be replaced with a medical bed. We offered the owner of the furniture shop money to move it, but he insisted on doing it for free. (We had been customers of that store for 30+ years, and he was a former student of mine.) The workers he sent out did get well tipped for their 20 minutes of work.
Wow The Entitlement
"I don't think you understand the meaning of 'closed'."
Load More Replies...I understand that the store is closed. Oh Lordy 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣 What a complete numpty 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣
If they close at 10pm they close at 10pm. what makes you think employees need to stay behind for YOU?
Not in my part of the world lol (they only go 24/h for a week or two around Christmas)
Load More Replies...Cultural factors contribute as well. In societies that emphasize individual rights over collective responsibility, consumers are taught from a young age to advocate for themselves at all costs. “Know your rights,” “don’t settle for less,” and “if you’re not happy, take your business elsewhere” become battle cries.
I Must Have My Margarita
In many places it would illegal to serve alcohol before 11. There would be the 'we're not open yet', and also 'we legally can't serve you' aspects.
100%. I used to work in a pub that opened at 10:00 (to accommodate the customers of the hockey arena we were set up in) but we couldn’t serve liquor until 11. That first hour of the day was brutal 😂 hockey moms begging me to put Baileys in their coffee or make them mimosas and getting so rude and sour when I told them I LEGALLY cannot until 11 😂

What A Great Ad For This Attorney
Funny - but how can the review be from "5 months ago" and the reply from a year ago?
I'm guessing the review was edited? Although usually it says "edited" when that happens so I dunno. Other possibility is it's fake.
Load More Replies...While these principles protect against genuine mistreatment, they also foster a transactional mindset in which any perceived slight is grounds for escalation, rather than an invitation to dialogue or compromise.

coming from an actual goth kid (moi) I get hit on sometimes in random places by random people of all ages. mind you, I am a minor??? sometimes I may be flattered, other times I might be disgusted, depending on the context, but either way, if someone is clearly not interested, they are not playing "hard to get", they just want you to leave them the f**k alone.
Sometimes used as a way to express that you think the author of the review is a moron.

Superbowl Sunday
I refuse to go to a restaurant within ~ 15 mins of their closing time. It’s 8:43 and they close at 9:00? We’re picking another restaurant lmao 😂 I’ve had friends argue with me about this but I refuse to be THAT customer.
Honestly it really depends on the context... if it's a sit-down restaurant then of course go to another restaurant. However, if it's a fast food restaurant that's not that busy and you're there 15 minutes beforehand, then you're actually perfectly fine most of the time! If the workers are doing what they're supposed to be doing and are quick you will be out with plenty of time before they close... really the only people that are "those people" are the people that come .5-5 minutes before closing, and don't really care that they do :) I'm a fast food worker and there have been so many people complaining about being "that customer", and to me, its perfectly fine... like, if you're apologizing, you are NOT "that customer"! this is just my opinion tho, you can also get workers that are so tired they don't want human interaction... but most of the time if you're in fast food and you're 15 mins before closing ur fine unless its sit-down, then yea
Load More Replies...can I just say that ALL people should have to work in a restaurant for a year as a teen or young adult before you can dine out. Showing up minutes before closing is SOOOOO F@@KING rude!!!! Usually the kitchen is already clean and the staff are tired and ready to go home.
Actually this is a kind of borderline bug for me, and many others I know. If a restaurant says they close at 5, some people think that this means they can go in at 5 and still order. That may be the case. But restaurants don't make it clear. What they SHOULD be advertising is not what time they close, but LAST ORDERS TAKEN AT 4.30PM, CLOSE AT 5PM. I know the critic in this post was an idiot and was actually 8 mins late, but I just thought I'd write this for restaurant owners---POST WHAT TIME YOUR LAST ORDERS ARE TAKEN!!!
Smoked meat takes a LONG time to be prepared. Somebody had to be there before dawn

Apple purée instead of pumpkin purée might work. But apple cider vinegar is an insane substitution.
“I didn’t have any black pepper so I used coffee grounds instead! Maybe I should have tried using dirt?”
Load More Replies...It said use lavender water, but I didn’t have any so I used concrete mix instead. It’s rock solid and I can’t eat it now!
"I did something it didn't say and it tasted differently, so I will give this a 1 star" ARE YOU AWARE OF HOW COOKING IS OR HOW FOOD TASTE DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON THE SPECIFIC FOOD. (I need to calm down)
I love reading recipe reviews where they don't follow the recipe and then complain. There was one the other day replaced baking soda with salt and lemon peel with lemon pepper seasoning and complained the zesty lemon cake did tasted off.
I love it when they have two stupid substitutes when either one would have been awful.

Finally, inconsistent enforcement of policies can deepen entitlement. When companies bend the rules for some customers, expediting a return past the deadline, waiving fees, or offering special treatment without explanation, it creates a patchwork of expectations. Future shoppers assume they, too, will receive the same exceptions, even if they don’t merit them.
Annoying Receipt
Tipping needs to go the way of the dinosaur. The federal minimum wage for tipped employees should be done away with, just pay living wage for fücks sake.
Tipping, by its nature, was optional, and still is optional everywhere but not in US. In this case reason for not tipping is wrong, but anyway, if tip is zero without any reason given, it is just as OK as 1, 2, 5 or 20 dollar tip.
Load More Replies...If that customer is smart (which I doubt), they won't dare return to that restaurant after refusing to tip on $100-plus bill over something so shallow. Control your d amn kids!
Just imagine if America went the way of Europe and eliminated tipping and instead paid their staff regular wages. Idiots like this will either stay home or pay $200 to eat instead of $116. And in this case, people like this with kids like his/hers apparently is, are the reason many restaurants are beginning to ban children under a certain age.

Making sure the staff is cool, rested, and ready to serve is catering to the customers.
Its eaiser to close the kitchen for a few hours then have to pay a work comp claim for employees having heat strokes . I would totally cater to my employee's
If the employees all wind up in the ER with heat stroke, there won't be any employees to cater to customers.
LOL we are advanced enough as a species that we can start making life more enjoyable for each other, employees don’t technically HAVE to be miserable and worked to the bone anymore 😂 I wish more people understood that
Clearly this POS has never worked in a hot kitchen. Kind business owner deserves 5 stars.
There are times when my own kitchen at home is too hot; I’d hate to work in a commercial kitchen in high summer.
Load More Replies...I've never understood why restaurants don't have a separate AC system just for the kitchen. Any fool builder knows it's hotter than hell back there and maybe have 2 thermostats in the whole building and both of those are in the customer area. And builders put those glass face/glass roof dining area on the south and west sides of the building. Good luck eating on that side of the restaurant. you're blinded and roasted simultaneously. No one wants to eat wearing sunglasses and/or drowning in sweat.
The whole reason the restaurant is open is to cater to the owner, actually... which in turn caters to the customers, since it makes jobs. its just an added bonus that it also caters to the customers :)
This inconsistency erodes trust in fair standards and emboldens customers to demand preferential treatment, convinced that leniency is the norm rather than the exception. Understanding why some customers become deeply entitled doesn’t excuse poor behavior, but it does point toward solutions.
Teens Flaunting Mobility????
I think you mean Ocean Michigan. It’s too big to be a lake.
Load More Replies...They should go back again - it's been 14 years, maybe they've cleaned up the water and the youngest teen would be 27 by now and not as noisy and mobile.
The water would still be as cold as bejeebus though. That's never going to change.
Load More Replies...They definitely need to install heaters for that frigid water, and if they can't be bothered to do that, they could at least hire a pool guy to go out there and skim Lake Michigan.
love to see people flaunting their mobility; reminds me of when I had more of it

Load More Replies...Many people believe that stores for some reason keep product "in the back" as opposed of on the shelves where they would make money selling the product. They're wrong, and people certainly have the right to be wrong, but seriously, why would a business not put out product that they could make money on if sold?
Are there still people who don't understand that some products are NOT shelved by store personnel? Most chips, breads, and lots of other foods are stocked on the shelves by the company that brings them to the store. Those people do not work for the store, and the store personnel do not stock those items. Whatever is on the shelves is ALL the company put there; there aren't any 'extras' hiding in the back.
Clear, consistently enforced policies; empathetic yet firm communication; and a balanced approach that values both customer satisfaction and employee well‑being can curb entitlement before it becomes toxic. In the end, healthy commerce relies on mutual respect: customers who appreciate good service and companies that deliver it without encouraging unreasonable demands.
Too Much Water
The horror! Wind, rain, cold, water! Maybe the bridge should be moved indoors for tourist's comfort?
and it wasn't even golden!!!! I'm surprise they didn't complain about the lack of gates
Load More Replies...Under helming indeed. The audacity of a bridge to be surrounded by water!
I- I have no words. "when I tried to file a complaint" TO WHO. THE BRIDGE IS OLDER THEN YOU UNLESS YOU ARE 98 OR OLDER. Either way, the person who designed it, and the people who built it are all (most likely) dead. so go complain to a grave if you want, but stone or dirt or whatever will just stare at you blankly.
I hope in this case it was intended as a silly joke that didn't quite make it. Complaining about there being water under a bridge? The bridge not made of gold? And they didn't regulate the weather? Either that, or the writer is insane.
Yeah, this is just too much irony for this to be serious.

so they get your book, then someone else sees them helping you and they demand service and on and on and on. Stores have business hours for a reason, sometimes it's even a law. So stop expecting preferential treatment. If you don't understand this, then I suggest you go get a job working retail and we'll see how long it takes you to get the gist of it.

Their time is worth something . They are humans trying to make a living .
My shop will top up your tires for free or slap your new wiper blades on real quick without charging - but at our discretion, and only if you’re cool about it 😊 one lady even got a free quick car wash when she brought us donuts and asked for help topping up her tires.
"if they were in the business of losing money instead of not doing work for free, I would come back" I also doubt they "snarled" more "asked you to stop being an entitled brat and actually pay them for something that costs money" You know what also costs money but takes like 3 seconds to do? Checking out at a store. imagine telling a cashier that you aren't paying for the food you brought there because "they want every petty dime".
What's the point of u coming back if ur not paying them? Good riddance!

Tattoo Shop Review
It's not just 'police lives matter.' In response to the multiple unalivings committed by police of Black people who were unarmed, etc. The Black Lives Matter campaign and protests started. People who did not support Black Lives Matter and believed the police were using appropriate core decided to show their support of police brutality by making up the counter slogan of 'Blue Lives Matter.'
Load More Replies...My take on Blue Lives Matter is slightly different. (Former EMT, current FF for context) I support police officers who do their jobs correctly, and will help out an officer if they are in trouble (yes it does happen). I do not and will never condone abuse of power by any group- be it PD, EMS, etc.
I imagine that's what most people think. I doubt most people truly believe ALL cops are b*stards. It's just more catchy than saying some cops are b'tards.

Load More Replies...How interesting these comments are. The same people applauding this tattoo shop for refusing service for ideological reasons, condemn a bakery for doing the exact same thing. I condemn them both. Just an FYI, the "thin blue line flag", which is what the customer wanted, has been around far longer that the "blue lives matter" phrase, and was created to honor officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Crazy to read the very varying opinions on here of Blue lives matter. I think everyone can agree that no good cop (many are, many aren't) should be m******d in the line of duty when doing their job correctly. I think everyone can agree that the many people who believe cops should have free reign to murder without consequence, or that minorities deserve it, are absolutely awful and give the blue lives matter movement it's bad reputation. Something can start with good intent and get super twisted and start to represent a lot of horrible things it didn't originally intend to because many people are pieces of s**t.
Hope they never need a cop. They may have targeted themselves for robberies...

Can't Make An Americano With No Water
No water at all? They just wanted a cup of coffee grounds? /s (Edit to indicate I was being sarcastic)
An Americano is a shot of espresso and water RME
Load More Replies...An Americano is made by diluting an espresso shot (1:3 or 1:4). If you don't want water in your Americano, then you are asking for an espresso.
Really? I always order this in Europe thinking this just means a regular coffee (as opposed to all the lattes, cappuccinos, etc.). But I guess technically a shot of espresso with a lot of water basically is a regular coffee.

There is a bathroom obviously for the staff to use. But is not allowed for guests to be used. If some accident happens over there, those parents would jump to sue.
"Take out" means you remove stuff from the premises, not leave .. ah, stuff behind.
Okay so if u offered to pay a bathroom would magically appear? Oh the stupidity!
Depending on exactly where the business is located, they are not required to have a bathroom, even for the staff. Also, some businesses have staff only facilities because if it's available to the public, a lot of laws come into play that drives up the cost, size and location of said facilities such as public facilities have to meet ADA codes.
If they borrow my freshly baked toilet will they give it back?
In a take-out only restaurant I'm 100% ok with this, I did got to a sandwich place with seating inside so it was clearly meant to accommodate customers eating there, and they didn't have a restroom for customers. It was me and four others, we all ordered food, so we weren't just popping in to use the bathroom. Is that even legal?
Imaginary 1 Star
In Europe, we try to season our food well enough so it can be enjoyed without having to smother it in a white, goopy substance so we can force it down our throats. And maybe one day the errant colonies will advance enough to learn to operate the cutting edge technology that is "the knife"...
While I've never been to Europe, I do feel that if you have to douse your food in some "condiment" then you probably don't actually like what you're eating. Nothing proves this more than steak. If you have to drown it in A1 or 57 sauce, just order a piece of stale bread and drown that, it'll taste the same, because you clearly don't like steak. As for the pizza, there are some things that do not belong on a pizza and salad dressing of any kind is one of them. If you're putting salad dressing on pizza then you clearly don't like pizza. Go order a salad.
Load More Replies...It’s not to cover up the taste of the pizza, it’s to enhance it 😊 some people really like it (including myself - although I’d never use ranch on authentic Italian pizza, those flavours don’t work, it’s best for frozen or North American style pizza). Isn't that the whole point of traveling? To experience things that are new, exotic, and interesting? I think they could save a lot of money AND get any type of American food if they just go to Las Vegas. You'll have photos from 'around the world' and you won't have to put up with those 'durned ferineers' AND you can get your taters covered, smothered, idk with Ranch for your dipping pleasure. Yikes

This is currently languishing at position 78, and it's the first one where I thought the complainant had a point. My business doesn't have a public lavatory, but if a police officer, firefighter, ambulance crew, nurse etc asked to use the loo, they would most definitely be allowed.

All their fault? 1. WHO has the allergy? 2. All ingredients in a dish are not listed on the menu.
I guess it's because in things like store-bought stuff it says any allergens in it, though this is why you ask first
Load More Replies...Because responsibility for ones own actions is a foreign concept for most americans, they rather sue than be sensible.
I don't have allergies, but if I had a severe allergy that could hospitalize me I'd like to think I'd be asking very clearly every time I went out to eat if a dish contained anything I'm allergic to. Seems unrealistic/unreasonable for a restaurant to list every single ingredient in every single dish.
Load More Replies...If it's YOUR allergy, the onus is on YOU to ask. I'm allergic to seafood, salmon and crustaceans...have been for most of my life. I read the descriptions on the menu and if it doesn't specify, I ask....it's not that hard to keep yourself safe.

If vegan is so good, why do they even try to imitate the taste of meat?
It's not a hard concept. Typically, most vegans become vegans because they care about animal welfare. Many enjoy the taste of meat - they choose not to eat it. They want the taste without the suffering. - - - It's like saying of Coeliacs 'why do they even try to imitate the taste of gluten-products?' - because they like the taste, but can't eat it.
