Bored Panda has collected some of the most bratty and petty messages that people have ever gotten from their exes, as shared on Reddit. Scroll down to see the best of the worst.
Bored Panda reached out to dating expert Dan Bacon, the founder of The Modern Man, who shed some light on what to keep in mind when breaking up with someone and the importance of clarity and boundaries after the breakup. Read on for our interview with him.

If the text read "just wanted to remind you Im a seriously s**tty person" it would have been less clear than those texts.
We were curious about what someone should keep in mind when breaking up with their partner in order to end things as civilly as possible. Dan, the founder of The Modern Man project, was kind enough to share his take.
"Say something positive about the person (e.g. you're loyal, supportive, can be a lot of fun to be around) and then add in that you don't believe the relationship will work in the long run and as a result, you don't want to lead them on any more," he told Bored Panda.
"For you, the feelings you really wanted to experience in the relationship just weren't there. Then, wish them the best and say that you're sure they will find the right person for them."

i had this happen to me. the thing was tho it was my parents account. never saw the point in paying for it myself wen they had theirs set up. i just added a profile for me and boom. my ex messaged me one day saying he was sorry he had been using my netflix this whole time. he freaked out wen i said it was my parents not mine. the netflix bill was showing it was being used on a device in virginia. im in new york my parents r in florida. my parents took matters into their own hands cuz they thought theyd been hacked and had a cop friend of theirs track down the virginia device. my dad is a morgage broker who works from home which means all his customers personal info is in his computer and stuff so he gets paranoid about getting hacked. anyways my dad found out who it was and called him. he apologized to my dad then texted me calling me a bunch of names and ranting about me ratting him out. wen i told him it was my parents account to begin with and i havent lived with my parents for 2 years bc i got married he freaked out. thats wen he realized i didnt remember giving him the password and my parents found out on their own. me and my dad laughed about it saying how after i broke up with him his life must b sh!t now if he cant even get his own netflix account. i asked my parents if they wanted me to get my own account, my own phone line etc once i got married but they said no bc they want to feel like they r contributing to my new life so i didnt argue. the best part about it all tho is that he was a very abusive ex so hes now a joke. we slowly changed all streaming service passwords and every time id get a text from him. i found out later he was in a loveless marriage and had a low paying job and his wife made the money but she thought the streaming accounts were his. it was hilarious hearing him complain about his life issues like it was my fault. i did also get a facebook message from his wife apologizing for the trouble he caused. wen i told her me and my parents were getting a huge laugh out of the whole situation bc of how he treated me she actually found it funny too. she even told me that she was looking for a way out and this whole situation seemed like a good first step. all i said was "glad i could help". idk how things r going but im sure hes regretting everything especially since he told me wen we broke up no one would ever love me. i have a kind heart but if u use that against me its not pretty. i get very guarded but even tho i had my guard up the whole time i couldnt believe karma was actually coming back to bite my ex in the a$$ and i got to witness every bit of it. all the anxeity i got from him went away after seeing him panic and seeing him b the anxious one.

Rebecca Hendrix, a psychotherapist in New York City, told Glamour magazine that one thing that you should do is talk to your partner about the doubts you’re having about the relationship before you actually break up with them.
“I've seen people do ‘surprise breakups' where you think everything is amazing and then the person is like, I'm leaving today,” Hendrix explained that this sort of situation can be traumatizing and very hard to get over. Instead, by sharing your concerns and being honest about the situation, the break-up can be ‘cleaner’ or the relationship can actually end up being saved.

I used a use a friend's netflix account, and one day it didn't log in. A couple of days later I asked them "did you stop paying for netflix?" and when they said "yes", the follow up from me was "thank you for letting me use it when you were paying đ". That's the correct response! "Thank you for giving me something for free, understandable that you don't want to use it/pay for it any more." The couple might have very different goals in life, for instance. If one partner wants to move halfway across the world to pursue a career in art while the other wants to stay and take over the family business, things are bound to get rocky. Long-distance isn’t something that works for everyone.
And you need to be realistic and practical about whether or not you can make it work. Do you have the time and finances to travel and visit your partner? Are you going to be able to handle the loneliness? How are you going to juggle your calls when you live in radically different time zones?

See if they can help you get a washer-dryer for your place, even if itâs one of those small apartment size ones. i had this happen to me. only reason we called the cops is bc wen i said no he decided to blast a song titled "suck my d!ck" from his car at max volume at 11pm. my parents were trying to sleep. it wasnt pretty. he thought bc he was from a fire fighter family hed b safe but my best friend is a cop that comes from a cop and firefighter family and hated him. his family and my friends family never got along. thing is tho my friend as i mentioned comes from a mainly cop family. my friend was the one who ended up getting him off our property and even had his cousin keep watch over my house for a few weeks. my ex literally couldnt come onto my property without being kicked out by a cop. he gave up after week 5. the same week my friends uncle became chief of the fd department of our town....the same position my exs dad wanted. my ex is y his dad didnt get the job and to this day my ex still isnt a firefighter bc of the bs he pulled stalking me. if some of u r wondering about y i broke up with him its bc of my friend and his family. they were like my 2nd family and wen they told me warnings about him i said "im a kind person but ill give him only one chance". that ex lost his chance after 2 months. that warning they gave me: he likes to control ppl weaker then him. if hes not in control he pretends to b suicidal. what we didnt kno was break ups turn him into a begging stalker. i found it funny cuz i wasnt as weak as he thought i was so y was he begging for me back? didnt matter in the end tho. he had a child mindset and thought he was number 1 and in the end his actions not only screwed up his life but his family's life too. he shattered their rep as respected firefighters by stalking me and me getting a restraining order which he thought was a joke and i was trying to scare him. he then proceeded to test it and with my friends cousin staying with me he got arrested real quick. im happy hes not a firefighter hes a complete idiot and not someone u want saving lives

I get it on tumblr all the time, people I don't know just sending me the message "hey". Not "hey I like your blog" or "hey [specific question]". Just "hey". And then when I reply "Hi? What can I do for you?", they're absolutely abysmal at making conversation, treating the messages more like instant chat. People do it on dating apps too, and it gives you nothing to work with. World of Warcraft. You level from 1 to 70 (at the moment) and then steadily get better gear by doing a variety of stuff. That's where the iLevel comes in. Raiding is the "end game" and it needs a large group (between 10 and 30). If your iLevel is too low (ie: you're in rubbish gear) you won't do enough damage or healing, or survive long enough. So everyone else would be carrying dead weight effectively. It's one thing to do that for people you like, or who offer to pay to be carried, it's another when the person is like this...

omg reading this reminded me of a non gamer ex i had. he thought girls shouldnt play video games and decided to prove to me that guys r naturally good at it and girls r horrible at it. he downloaded smite which is a game i m VERY good at and decided to challenge me. u can do 1v1s so i accepted. he got to 10 even bought the bundle that unlocks all gods. we did our 1v1. i destroyed him. he never even got a hit on my tower. he then said i got lucky and he wanted to do best out of 5. i won all 5 destroying him each time. he never killed my character or hit my tower. the saddest part was wen i told him i purposely chose hel a dps healer which is difficult to use in a 1v1 unless u really kno wat ur doing. i also told him i did it to give myself a handicap. he was furious. he threw a temper tantrum and asked how. i told him the answer was simple "a non gamer should never challenge a gamer. especially one who is a clan leader that constantly teaches over 100 ppl the best builds and gives advice and teaches the best ways to utilize the gods they play on a daily basis." i also told him that my entire clan called me the mother of the gods. i didnt just teach them tricks and give advice i also helped fend off toxic randos, listened to their irl issues and give advice on that, gave them a fun enviornment to play in etc. my ex realized real quick i wasnt just calling myself a gamer cuz i played video games. i called myself a gamer cuz i truly was a gamer and a gamer that shouldnt b messed with. he apologized admitted he was wrong and left me alone after that. i told my clan wat happened and every member girls and guys laughed. every guy was saying how they love having or would love to have a gamer girl in their life and all the girls were saying how video games arent targeted to just guys some even have a female auidence in mind. it was hilarious hearing wat everyone had to say. not one of them agreed with him in any way. they also think it was dumb that me being a gamer was y he broke up with me and he thought if he could beat me id quit. its like he lives under a rock. he doesnt realize how many women of all ages play video games. like seriously does he think pokemon is a game only guys play? wat about DDR? u think only guys played that? i never understood his mindset. he was my age yet had the mind of an old man. i seriously think he honestly thought women could only do cooking, cleaning and have kids. mayb an artsy craft like knitting or painting. like wtf. im happy he found out i was a gamer. i wouldve never seen that side of him otherwise. now im happily married to a gamer and we both have our own set ups. i retired from online gaming these days bc i hate the toxic enviornment. i still give smite advice but i dont play. only online game i play is pokemon unite cuz they dont have a way to type during a match and u can only communicate with ppl on ur friends list. in the end tho the clans motto proved to b true. " try to beat us at our own game and ull lose ". only reason that was our motto was bc the clan was full of ppl who played smite during closed alpha and its release. the clan system wasnt always a thing but we got together once it was added. we were basically the old folk of smite lol.
