There are moments in the life of a designer when everything seems to fall apart because your client sends his images once again in a word document. But soon you also become aware of your little idiosyncrasies. That you love fonts more than people and you choose your restaurant by the font of the menu. But – you are not alone!

Vectorization is a concept known to few. Alas. (No, it is not ok to insert a table as a graphic, either.)
Have you ever tried to explain the concept of a vector graphic to your client? Glazed over stares back.
Load More Replies...Oh boy do I know that one. Then there's "give it a pop of color". Pop of color given, meaning mostly neutral with color highlights here and there. They see the work and say "where's all the color? I wanted a pop of color."
Load More Replies...Indeed...the feeling would not be that of loneliness on an island but rather takking to a thing (Wilson)...since no one else will understand you.

"i want the software to fly, you have 3 days"

Load More Replies...I have fired several clients for that. How about when they tell you they want a complete makeover of some old template or something so you redo it and bit by bit they strip it back to the original one they hired you to change.
"But I designed a Bake Sale Flyer in 1984, so I think I have a pretty good eye for design."
^^This iterally happened to me at an internship. I almost peed myself from trying not to laugh at the president of the company as he told me how his wife designed the interior of their house and also what you said above, which is why she seemed to be qualified to tell me how to do my job. She told me the pamphlet I was designing had too many stock photos of white people, not diverse enough (everyone there was white, except you know, me). So I handed my boss the revision, which replaced the first front photo of an African American female, which made my boss snort...I miss my immediate boss lol.

I'm really far away from being a grammar nazi but..."we're need".... how? and why? did I miss some major changes in english language?
OMG! I download a million apps on the App Store just because I love how the app icon looks XD
In Lithuania, the worst is Monotype Corsiva. Nearly every hairdresser, cosmetologist, church, cheaper restaurant use it. Comic Sans is so forgotten.

That whole hourly vs by estimates thing is hell. I do an estimate with an hourly rate which includes a caveat for project creep and excessive overtime requirements. That hourly thing really makes them focus and stop fooling around.
I do not get this...particularly with the three question marks and exclamation marks...
I think it's about a costumer for whom nobody is a designer who doesn't use InDesign

yes, learned that the hard way as well. Just smile and nod from now on...
once you started you can't stop, once you stopped you can't start
I think these are more akin to the designer community. While they are cute, I don't know if a lot of folks would truly appreciate the humor in them.
Some entries are really funny...other relatable. Some I think are very, very insider-ish and hard to understand. Some, at least I feel, are a bit like complaying about things that are far worse in other sectors. For example the deadline postings...
