We can't all be visionaries like Frank Gehry - sometimes eccentric ideas just translate into crappy design - like the ones on the following list. No matter how many times we shame the bizarre creations of product designers everywhere, there seems to be an endless supply of poorly executed bad designs to choose from.
The following list is a collection of design fails from one of our favorite subreddit groups /CrappyDesign. While a multi-dimensional mirror may sound like something that belongs in the Museum of Modern Art, is it truly necessary to have one incorporated in your interior design? Or a bookshelf may seem like a necessity for your textbooks, but if they take up the whole locker, where does your backpack go? I actually think I figured this out. Level 2 is on the ground floor and were the first apartments. Apartments 3, 12, 21 and 29 are probably 2 story apartments that were added after the building was complete and apartments 37 and 38 are apartments that were created after the building was being leased..that it's the basement refurbished into apartments. But they should wipe the entire numbering system and start over.

Level 1 used to be shops and then were converted to apartments. Can’t change the numbers in the whole building because it screws up everyone’s utilities and mail.

This is very similar to an apartment building I used to live in. Turns out they had numbered one half of the building, both ground and upper floor, counter clockwise starting at the door and then the other half the same way except clockwise this time. This meant apartments 1,2,5,6 were on the ground floor and 3,4,7,8 were on the upper floor. It got even crazier when the numbering system continued like this thru the rest of the sections of the building!

In the building my job is in, the first floor is actually the basement, so this kind of makes sense to me. Level 1 is probably the basement--they added those two after the others were built, then just renumbered the floors. Not saying it's logical...

If I were to guess I'd say it's because the level 1 was originally for storage and was later converted into a couple of apartments.

They started numbering them and then finished realised they had flats on teh ground floor n just though f**k it. im not changin all the numbers. Just stick em down here.

they also went to the confusing step of putting all odd-numbered rooms on the even numbered floors, which even if splitting them by odds/evens was logical, you'd put the even numbers on the even floors. Also, so far as I've seen, its common throughout the world to use the first number (or series of numbers in a highrise) of the suite/space /room/whatever to indicate what floor it's on. there may be some question as to whether the ground floor is '0' or '1' (or G... or whether that's the underground garage,) but...that's not this.

Looks like they divided larger units and/or converted storage/utility rooms to apartments

I've seen this before. It's not the apartment #s, it's the Intercom codes for the apartments on those floors, which can be programmed arbitrarily, and often times people move around. Note how it's just a printed piece of paper in a frame.

Does anyone know why BoredPanda showed me well over 50 items the first time I loaded the page, and now won't go past 50? I wanted to upvote and comment on the hand-ball one, but I reloaded first to make sure nobody else had said what I was going to say. This is the second time that's happened to me, now I notice it's cutting it off at exactly 50 (as per the title) but there were way more I hadn't read yet!
