People Are Sharing Their Cozy Places And The Pics Look Very Inviting (40 Pics)
Many people like their home to be practical. Others prefer the external beauty of it. And the rest, they love the ultimate coziness of their environment that gives an ultimate feeling, even a buzz, that all is alright, and so are you.
The recent trend has permeated interiors, architecture, art, and even fashion with the rise of the Danish lifestyle known as “hygge.” Hygge can be anything from cinnamon roll candles to warm slippers and hot chocolate, as long as it gives you that “quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality.”
If you’re not yet familiar with the world of it, the perfect place to get yourself warmed up is the beautiful corner of Reddit known as the “Cozy Places” subreddit. Created in 2014, the community has a whopping 1.8 million members who are totally into “cozy places from all around the world of all shapes, sizes, and price ranges.”
So let’s see some of their best posts right here that will make you feel like you're tucked into the warmest blankets of all.

Best Spot For Summer Rainstorms, Upstate NY
May is a good month for minimal mosquitoes. Even early June.
Load More Replies...To find out more about the cozy trend that has been taking interior design by storm in the past years, Bored Panda reached out to Eva Taute, interior designer and creator of “Hygge Styling” studio, which focuses on minimalistic design, natural elements, personal touch, and uniqueness.
According to Eva, our homes have a greater psychological effect on us than we think. “We have spent our whole lives gathering experiences of spaces. Some of them we felt more at home in than others. We cannot always put our finger on why, but we know it when we feel it.”

My Cozy Backyard Patio With Blooming Wisteria
Wisteria is beautiful... such a shame it is so invasive. Worse than most weeds.
“There is a book called 'Home As A Mirror Of Self' by Clara Cooper Marcus and even the title explains it well,” said Eva and added that “Our home can reflect our inner world and how we feel about ourselves.” Not only that, but “We can also use our home to reflect the message we want our hearts to hear. It can be a place that supports our well being. We can do that by unraveling our experiences with space and finding those colors, textures, and materials that help us feel at home. Help us create that cozy feeling that brings us rest.”

Oh I love rooms you can go in when you want to relax, or be creative or just do nothing and enjoy the view.

But the scientist in me wants to know why wear patterns on stairs are different.
Agreed two sets of stairs? Ascending and defending?
Load More Replies...Thus, home is so much more than just a place to put your head down before another day in this hectic world. And many people have found cozy interiors to be the most comforting and soothing. Hygge, a Danish interior design trend that has spread around the world in recent years, perfectly captures this experience of ultimate coziness and overall well being.

Eva explained that “'Hygge' is the Danish ritual of slowing down, being in the moment, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. People might think of it as just Scandinavian design but it is more than that.”
“It’s about recovering from your day in a space that refreshes you with the people you enjoy. This manifests its way into your home design by creating a space that reflects who you are, what you value, and what brings you joy.”
My Cozy Bedroom Lets In All The Sun
i love this, especially the way the bed's level with the windows! it would never work for me though, i'm too sensitive to light and noise when sleeping, plus having my bed in the corner makes it five times more painful to change the bedding :(
A Lovely Indoor Garden Within A Home
Such a sanctuary, something about walking right out from your house to a backyard like this is awesome
Evening View Of Living Area / Loft Bedroom
My guess is it built in a less populated area facing away from any major traffic
Load More Replies...Sad that in these days of drones and camera equipped phones, and nutjob people running loose, you never know who is watching and filming.
Yes! One of my biggest fears is someone watching me from the woods or the darkness. Idk if it was too many scary movies or the one time I was a kid I stayed at my grandmas house and we woke up and had found footprints outside the bedroom windows. Also, my mom had an ex that stalked her in high school so she has always been super weird about covering her windows. So yea it's rubbed off on me I guess lol. I LOVE being in the woods and nature but something like this where someone can watch you and you be none the wiser, nope! At least when I'm out and about my guard is up but at home it's different.

My Summer Porch Reading Nook In Ohio
When asked about the ways to make your home feel cozier, Eva said that it’s good to begin with what kind of atmosphere you are wanting to create. “From that base, you can choose supporting materials and colors. That can differ person to person. For one person, cool colors might feel cozy, another person warm colors. Typically if you add more texture to your home (carpets, curtains, etc.) and play with the lighting, that can already make a big difference.”
Sunny Afternoon On Our Front Porch
I would call it a sunroom when walled in, but it pretty clearly was originally a porch that has since been enclosed.

My room in the house where we lived till I was 19 faced west and received afternoon sun light just like this. I've never had such a room again. I really miss this.
Wow! You could just crop the window and it would be breaking. The calming color cast on the walls with your furbaby to cuddle. You're so blessed!
A Cozy Snow Cave On A Top Of A Mountain
IKR? Looks like an icy tomb. I don't think I could rest for fear of it collapsing on me.

Loft Apartment Living Room Space
LOVE spaces like this for their high ceilings and tall windows... also like the warehouse effect/details in general.
An Inviting Space At Denver Botanic Gardens
I can see myself drinking some tea as I look at the birds chirping about, squirrels playing around the trees, as the bees and butterflies harmonize with the flowers.
The Denver botanic gardens are great. They had an excellent bonsai exhibition/demonstration a few years back.
Our Living Room After Game Night. Boston, Ma
Are those Magic: The Gathering cards? It doesn’t look like any MTG format I’ve seen, but I can’t think of another card game that looks like that.

great space! But, why do these dogs always remind me of Tim Curry's Pennywise? (RIP good sir) Like, if Pennywise was an adorable little animal, instead of clown terrorizing children, haha
Our Balcony On A Sunny Day
I like it, but tell - do you have to hop over the plants everytime you want to sit down?
Hahahaaa! I see what you're seeing, but if you look closer, you can tell that the plants, candles, etc...are actually on a table/shelf closer to the camera, not on the floor of the balcony. See the door, and maybe you can visualize the space better :)
Load More Replies...Sorry to say there is a space to walk in between them if I could see that then oh well .You have a awesome place there ;=]]
My Sweet Balcony!
My Florida Backyard Patio
My Cozy Happy Place
For people saying readers don't do that: there are a wide variety of books in the world because people who read have a variety of interests and styles. Several of those rows (the black, white and blue) look like standard books. The two middle rows may very well have been purchased for their color schemes, but it makes the homeowner happy (and it should - it looks calming and uplifting). Besides, a lot of people who read use Kindles now, so bookshelf space is freed up to use anyway you want.
It looks like their reading books are on the bottom 2 shelves, and the rest of the shelves are just filled with "fake" books they only bought for the colors. You can go on etsy and buy specifically colored books just for that purpose!

You would like my rug. This is another angle of the Brighton room above. I recognized the cool full-wall art in the mirror, then the unique light fixture. Glad to see another corner of the room! Looks cozy with a lot of personality - and that chunky knit blanket looks so comfy.

Morning Light In The Living Room, Texas
Our Cozy Sunset Place (Belgium)
I think cosy has to do with warmth and generally being inviting (gezellig). Whilst the light is beautiful, I would not consider this cosy. No personal touch like photos or plants, a rug would be nice and maybe a bit more furniture? This is more clean/minimalist style in my opinion (also a cool style)
Straalt inderdaad weinig gezelligheid uit.

My home looks nothing like any of these lovely cost homes. I have been in my new home for almost 3 years and it still looks like no-one lives there. I really hope to change this soon.
My living room - where Acoustic Alchemy is always playing on the stereo, the fountain is always trickling in the background and the door is open to the patio for the scents of jasmine, lavender & lemons! IMG_202008...8bf521.jpg
Enjoyed these and liked them all. I'm curious though, what do you do with all those damn pillows when you want to sit/ lay down?
