My 36 Comics About An Ice Cube Which I Created At The Lowest Point Of My Creative Career
Like all artists, I aspire to create something that the world will fall in love with. Ironically, the inspiration for CubeMelt came at the lowest point of my creative career.
I was lost on where my work was taking me and did not know what I should be focusing on to establish my career at the age of 36. It was during one of the regular moments of self-doubt that I get, like the feeling of life melting away like those ice cubes in my cup of soda. I asked what would an ice cube do given its short lifespan? That was the moment when CubeMelt cartoon character was born.
I decided that CubeMelt should be a living ice cube with a wholehearted, 'can-do' attitude in all he does despite me feeling down. I wanted to bring some positivity to the world in a light-hearted way which brings me joy while working on the cute comics. It is also my way of making sense of life and events around me. The philosophy of Cubemelt comic strips is "life is short." It begets the question of how we are spending each day of our lives.
He's excited to get out of his ice tray every day. The problem is, he starts melting the moment he's out of the freezer, so lengthy tasks are the literal bane of his existence. The spot of water he's reduced to invokes laughter, pity, wonder, and unexpected blessings to those around him.
I draw creative ideas from pop culture, current affairs, and most importantly, my wife and my baby girl. I wish to teach my girl the value of time through CubeMelt webcomics, and I am exploring creating and illustrating children’s books.
At the end of the day, besides laughter, I wish to bring some perspective of life through the (mis)adventures of an ice cube in cute drawings with a burning zest for life! We are all melting, some faster than others, but it’s not the duration but the value we bring that matters.

More like killing yourself for the sake of others
Load More Replies...it used the hand dryer to melt the area around it's mouth making the area larger so that the cake could fit in it's entirety
Load More Replies...I'm only on the second comic and I already feel that this ice cube is my spirit animal
Or the cake is too small if the ice cube is small...

Load More Replies...Olaf? Do you see this, Olaf? This is what happens to "frozen water when it gets warm".
What a great idea! I'm going to pee in the lobby next time to get into the movie for free!
if i could do that, i would sport an eight pack and those rippling side muscles...... I would be gloriously terrifying.
You can get implants. I think I saw it on TV one day, but I'm not going to google it.
Load More Replies...I read about this doggo that would bury ice cubes and go back for them later... ☹
Reminds me of the "Christmas of the Past" episode of the Thundermans where Billy got his tounge stuck to an ice block.
my dad played one of the characters in the movie
I don't know if I'm supposed to upvote because it's funny or downvote because I'm still sore about Peter's death.
Hey, lets make a contract buddy! Hehehe! What do ya say? B-Buddy? Buddy?!
The ice cube... well at hope he was happy in death, because he had on very MEH face...
Load More Replies...Well, as long as it's not dihydrogenmonoxyde...... He's lucky;)
There was no way the cat knew that would kill the cube...or that a cube is even in there. It's been an accident - either felony icecubeslaughter or involuntary icecubeslaughter. There is no way anyone can prove it was the cat and the cat won't ever confess to being guilty of anything. There's no motive either. I bet the cutie will get away with it too.

I love how it looks like 'life' is literally handing over the lemons
When life gives you melons, medicate your backache with a soothing Midori sour!
Honestly... I prefer lemonade without sugar. Or with honey if I put too much lemon.

Ironic, something tempurature hot (it can be cute too, I guess) with something freezing, but from previous comics a warm heart. "The only thing that can thaw a frozen heart is...love...LET IT GOOOOOOO"
Icy-Dumpty sat on a wall / Icy-Dumpty had a great fall / All the spectators standing around / Couldn't put Icy together again.
This would be even more fun if the turtle stopped to drink from the puddle.
Yah, me too. I wonder what it's like when (s)he has full inspiration!
