Pastor Faces Major Backlash For Mansplaining Women On What Not To Wear In Photos, Here Are 30 Of Most Savage Replies
Brian Sauvé, a Christian pastor at Refuge Church in Ogden, Utah, sparked outrage online after claiming women shouldn't wear certain types of clothing on social media.
In a now infamous Tweet, Brain penned an open letter addressed to “Ladies” where he claimed that “there is no reason whatsoever for you to post pictures of yourself in low cut shirts, bikinis, bra and underwear, or anything similar—ever.” The outspoken father of five continued to argue that not even a weight loss journey, showing a newborn or documenting your birth are reasons enough for this.
As you can suspect, this didn’t sit well with people online. They responded to Brian in a similar manner: “Dear Brian,” and pointed out how wrong on so many levels his message was. #DearBrian is now trending, and below we collected some of the best responses from people allergic to misogynistic BS.

Jesus put the responsibility for lust on the person who was looking, not on the person who was being looked at.
Yeah according to the Bible Brian should poke out his eyes
Load More Replies...You're not my brother, father, husband, son, nephew, uncle or any other form of male relative or associate of mine they don't tell me what to do - so you don't tell me or anyone else what to and what not to do or call yourself & your sheep - 'Your brothers,' you're not and I have enough brothers I don't need more. I don't particularly care to see half naked people all over the place but I don't tell them what or what not to wear, I just don't look. You don't like it DON'T LOOK! It's absolutely none of your or anyone else's business to tell anyone how to act or dress. People are proud when they lose weight and want to share their progress with loved ones and friends. The same goes for giving birth. People are excited and proud of that accomplishment. Some people refuse to post pictures of themselves and their families, some don't. Why don't you worry about yourself and your own family and leave everyone else alone.
And why would YOUR brother, father, husband, son, nephew, uncle or any other form of male relative or associate be able to tell you what to wear in the first place?
Load More Replies...I think a more accurate phrase would be “girls’ bodies aren’t responsible for boys’ actions.” Everyone thinks things they shouldn’t do, it’s not acting on thoughts that is what is really important
Exactly. My thoughts are to punch Pastor Brian in the throat. But I won't, because I'd get arrested.
Load More Replies...Whether right or wrong, girls' bodies do affect the thoughts of boys. And vice versa.
They may have an effect on their thoughts, but that doesn't mean they need to act on them. As my mother used to tell my father when he looked at a pretty woman, "You can look, but you can't touch".
Load More Replies...If you’ve been on Twitter lately, the chances are you noticed quite a few tweets in your feed that said “Dear Brian.” It was tweeted by influencers, celebrities, and even a few companies after Brian Sauvé posted an infamous tweet telling women what was decent and what wasn’t to wear when posting pics of themselves to social media. Immediately, his tweet shared on February 7 caused a huge outrage.
If God didn't want temptations to exist, there would be no forbidden fruit in the garden, there would be no Lucifer. Ultimately it is the sinner's responsibility to not sin, not the environment to make it conducive for them.
He is probably a preacher. Someone who doesn't let you speak, or disagree. A Pastor actually cares for their parishioners.
Load More Replies...I agree with him to a point. Married women shouldn't need to do that. Single women is a different story. The ONLY reason to post pics like that is for attention. If you're happily married, the only attention you should need is from your husband and vice versa. If his attention isn't enough, you should rethink marriage.
"for attention"? Not everything that women do is about you.
Load More Replies..."You'll never attract a man wearing men's clothing" first of all, incorrect :D second of all, attracts wife instead
I'm watching The Handmaid's Tale series these days...I'm having a deja vu kind of vibe...Brrr...Frightening! Brian Sauvé is the new Commander Waterford or something??
No care from us girls. Do you have opinions about our looks and clothes? We don't care.
If you’re wondering, Brian is a 31-year-old Utah pastor and Christian musician. Brian is the Pastor of Preaching and Liturgy at Refuge Church, which appears to be an independent Calvinist evangelical Christian organization. In addition to his pastoral duties, the father of five is also a Christian musician and has over 5,000 monthly listeners on Spotify tuning in to hear him perform hymns and psalms, We Got This Covered reports.
Brian introduces himself on his website as the “the lieutenant of wordsmithing and chieftain of scribery (trust me, it's a word) in this digital kingdom.” He adds: “As such, feel free to direct any disagreement, vitriol, extravagant praise, or general ire in my direction.” It seems like he got enough of that these past two days.
Dear Brian Sauvé, looking at your bio picture I would say you really are in no position to advise anyone on their looks.
Yea I really love how this entitled douche thinks he speaks for ALL MEN somehow!! This is really where the #notallmen is appropriate for once. Speak 4 urself there, Bee-rye.
Nah Kyle, you tried, but I'm pretty sure you'll be sitting there staring at your female friends' bikini photos all day.
The next day, after posting his original tweet, Brian shared the following post: “Quite a few men and women who would likely identify as liberal feminists have recently taken quite the interest in my Twitter account. Welcome! I'm glad you're here.” He then penned a series of follow-up tweets, where despite the outrage, he defended and stood by his initial comment.
“Many of you likely use and promote the #MeToo movement — yet hundreds of you are sending me unsolicited sexual images and videos. Is that ok now? I thought your sexual ethic was all about consent? This seems like naked (pun intended) hypocrisy on your part,” he continued.
most of the girls who dress wearing crop tops and shorts shorts and skirts and whatnot, is because THEY LIKE THEY WAY IT LOOKS. I wear makeup because I LIKE TO FEEL PRETTY. we are not dressing for you, and never will. leave us alone.
Wait, you want to “feel” pretty? IMPOSSIBLE! You only dress up to please your overlords! *sarcasm, oh so much sarcasm*
Load More Replies...Wtf is he talking about!!?? Who is sending him photos and videos of their genitals!!?? Also the me too movement is about holding men accountable for SEXUAL ASSAULT! Where the hell is he being sexually assaulted in this situation??! This dude really needs 2 be taught a freaking lesson!!! Who the eff does he think he IS!!?? And does he REALLY think its ONLY "liberal feminists" who are against his b******t ideas??? HARDLY!!! Hahah I'm pretty sure I know a ton of Republican men who have absolutely zero issue with women posting pica of themselves in bikinis and in fact, actually enjoy it and encourage it. What a grade A moron!
It's presumptuous to speak for "all women." I don't allow others to speak for me.
And signing it from 'your brothers', don't be including me in that Brian, we're both dudes but the similarity stops there, you utter cretin.
Completely agree with your wise words, am happy to sign the petition:) buddy should never ever be in a place of power (ie a wife and 5 children)
And a great many men who don't have a need to exercise my "power" over weak minded people.
I never thought I would join a church, being a demon, but here we are
Load More Replies...Imagine if these types would control themselves instead of others, what a wonderful world it would be!
Brian added, “If a man were to send you unsolicited nude pictures or sexually explicit videos of himself, you would (rightly!) judge him as a sexually abusive pervert. But you can do it to me? How does the ethical math work out on that? Maybe your sexual ethics aren’t so ethical after all.”
The pastor proceeded telling his critics “I don't hate you. Sincerely, I don't.” He added that he hopes “you can find freedom from the crippling weight of your sin through Christ.” Moreover, he called everyone “hypocrites, sinners and moral vagabonds.”
What an actual dirt bag, how do people like this manage to tie their shoes in the am nvm trying to “lead” a family and church? wow, always stunned by humans and their audacity
Even adidas has more common sense than this “Christian pastor.”
Brian called everyone “hypocrites, sinners and moral vagabonds.” Take a good long look in the mirror.
There is beauty in every creation. I'm not a Christian, but I do believe everything and one is beautiful in a unique way.

Same same response as I gave Bill... There is beauty in every creation. I'm not a Christian, but I do believe everything and one is beautiful in a unique way.
Load More Replies...God's intention, in the Bible, was that people would be naked and unashamed. Then, Brian Sauve and his ilk came along.
Exactly. As I continue my path to ministry, I need to remember that people who call themselves Christians have done a lot of harm. It is on me to present Christianity as a religion of love and equality.
Bravo, Luther! I hope and pray that you succeed :).

Okay, I know I'll get down voted but I'm just gonna say it - does that infant not resemble Prince Harry? I'll see myself out...
Aarrgh why did you say that, cannot unsee!!!

“You should seek out an atheist for help” – what an epic reply! :-) I respect people for having their faith, but if some of them just would stop deep-throating others with it and mind their own *#%&! business instead, the world would be a much more pleasant place.
“ Stop deep-throating others with it.” is now my new favorite way to tell someone to piss off.
Load More Replies...The saddest part of this is that this dude and people like him are the ones having like 10 effing kids and continuing on this type of utterly crap belief system! The guy has 5 kids. I hope they all rebel and never speak 2 him again once they reach adulthood. Utah needs 2 be cordoned off as a biohazard area, seriously. That whole state has been infected by the Mormon church and the sister wife nonsense and people marrying 10 little girls so they have a harem of child brides. Its time to do something about it!! Most people dont even know that its totally legal to marry an 11 yr old as long as the parents consent...which they often do in certain cultures and religions living in the US. Its SICK!! I can't comprehend how thays legal wen u KNOW that child is going 2 be raped!! Its not like they get married and the man waits 7yrs 4 sexual contact!
You can find it in almost any image editing program.

Load More Replies...I still dont get why this man equates being sent an unsolicited d**k pic with a woman posting a photo of herself at the beach to her own social media account. He honestly thinks those are the same thing 4 some reason eventhough u generally CANT SHOW NUDITY ON SOCIAL MEDIA!! He keeps saying it over and over and referring 2 the me too movement as if he is being sexually assaulted or personally sent photos of genitalia!! This guy is literally 2 stupid 2 tell the difference!!
I believe this is more about Christianity against women not men against women (althogh, of course there are issues with that too). Please note, unfortunately, a lot of Christian women also feel the same way as Brian.

ALWAYS quote the bible to a Christian that is doing this kind of stuff. Chances are they have no idea what the book says anyhow!!!
Amen! We don't get to pick and choose which verses to follow and the verses to ignore.
I'm always confused by religious people, like listen... I get that you want to live your "truth" and all, but why are you policing everyone else's way of living? I don't believe what you believe but I respect if you want to cover from heard to toe because I have absolutely zero interest in forcing my beliefs on anyone... so get out of my closet, my uterus, my marriage, my house, my work, my everything and go back to your life.
In the immortal words of Miz Noxema Jackson - "Your approval is neither desired nor required!"
Not when there's a long, long list of men who think it's OK to police women's bodies. The fact he's a Christian - apparently - is just detail.
Load More Replies...That's not how that works! Amen means "so be it." It's not a gender thing.
Load More Replies...I've always felt unless a task requires specific genitals to do it ( ie breast feeding) there is no reason for it to be gendered. What Brian is saying here is I enjoy having a maid I can sleep with and I will use my religion to guilt someone into occupying this position
Wait! you don't clean the windows with your breasts? It's for the neighbors :D
Load More Replies...I remember when I was a kid and talking to other boys about how I would never have a wife who worked. Then I turned seven. Grow up boys. It’s a wonderful world when you have a real partner in life and not a servant you don’t really respect.
Religion is the most classic example of the patriarchy. God is referred to with He/Him pronouns, never She/Her. He is also referred to as the Father. Under religion only men were allowed to hold positions of authority. The hierarchy: God > Men > Women A 2000 year old book has no place dictating affairs in modern society.
If we're being absolutely technical with it, God doesn't have a gender. He just has us refer to Him with specific pronouns because that's what we're familiar with. And back in Bible times, men were the ones who had the most influence.

Mumford and Sons are a kind of folky, slightly rocky band from London. They basically have one method of creating music, involving the same chords being repeated a lot. I actually liked them at first, but then it just went on...and on...and on...plus, the lead singer, Marcus Mumford, is one of the smuggest men in all creation. Anyone seen him drumming during the tribute to Prince on Jools Holland? Yep, that face...
Load More Replies...Uh, the Stone Age was when people worked three hours a day and everybody was totally cool with being naked. We could use a bit more of that.
You do realize that the stone age also saw impressive civilizations with complex hierarchies, slavery, human sacrifice and highly gendered social roles too right? All of Native American civilizations including Mayans, Incas and Aztecs were stone age peoples who did not have metal tools.
Load More Replies...Once more religious people trying to attack and opress women. What a surprise...
It’d be nice if his post was more honest. “dear ladies, when you show off your body I can’t help but think immoral and sexual thoughts. Please cover up as I can’t control myself because my mom only told me I was a good boy growing up. Sincerely, men who just can’t help themselves”
Dear Brian: You moronic twat. I imagine you find the depictions of Mary showing off her newborn Jesus shameful, the big ol s**t huh? 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Don't know why BP is giving an idiot like this more exposure. Ignore the fools and weed them out by keeping them in the dark places where they usually live.

According to Christianity’s own mythology Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden of eden for eating fruit from a tree and not for being nude. So according to that being nude is not a sin.
Well no, they were cast out for eating from the tree of knowledge. Totally different concept.
